We have two small kids and were very concerned to be going into winter without railings (we are 33 steps from the street). Jeff was able to squeeze us in before the end of season. Riccardo and his team were out in the freezing temps finishing the railings. Everything came out great; communications were smooth throughout; and cleanup was perfect. They are very, very good at the masonry aspect,…read morebut we had a negative experience with everything outside of the excellent stone walls and patio they built for us. They have built beautiful flat stone walls for us in our front and back yards. We were very impressed with them after the first job they did for us in our front yard a few years ago, so we did not even look at other companies when we wanted to spruce up our backyard this year. The garden walls they built in the backyard were once again beautiful. However, as a gardener, I was disappointed and frustrated by the following things: - Our contract included 50/50 loam compost for the new garden beds. During the job, we caught them filling the beds with the grass they had pulled up from our old lawn and asked them to stop doing that. - When I went to start planting, I found that the garden beds had only a layer of new soil but that my shovel quickly hit a lot of big rocks and uncovered old soil, debris, and trash. - They completely trampled and destroyed my established perennial garden, which was located in a garden bed above where the new beds were built. They also broke several pavers in a little garden path I had and removed them without replacing them. - They recommended microclover for my lawn and seeded it for us as part of the contract, but it grew in quite spotty despite us maintaining it properly with daily waterings. I contacted them about the first issue and their initial response was to tell me that the stones I was finding were part of the wall construction - this was not the case. They had someone come out to take a look and concluded that the soil did need to be replaced, which they finally did. It is much better now, though I still have found some large stones in it. However, in the process of solving that issue, they caused the second one - many of the perennials that my mother and I had worked to plant over the past four years were totally destroyed. They offered me a credit to compensate for the loss, or the option to have them reinstall new flowers, but by that point I just didn't want them near my garden anymore so accepted the credit. I didn't bother contacting them about the spotty lawn - I threw down some grass seeds yesterday to try and fill in the gaps. While I appreciated that they did eventually take steps to resolve the issues, I found it quite frustrating to have to keep reaching out just to get them to do what they really should have done in the first place. They never did a final walkthrough as I've seen other contractors do. No apology for destroying my garden. They have a Benjamin Franklin quote, "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" - I definitely felt some of that bitterness throughout this process. My conclusion is that they are really excellent masons but do not understand or respect gardens. If you hire them, be prepared to have to deal with that.

After meeting him in person you'll realize within a few seconds that he lives for this and he pours his heart into everything he does. I seriously don't think I've ever met anyone more passionate about their work. The Done Right crew are amazing to work with and they literally treated us like family. They worked tirelessly for countless hours on several projects we had them do all around our home and throughout the whole project they never stopped smiling. :) Bruce cares about his customers and goes over and beyond to make sure everything Right. He spent so much time with us listening to our thoughts and concerns and then he turned them into a reality. I can assure you that, you won't find a better landscape designer out there. Some people are just born to do something and I'm happy that Bruce is using his gift to the fullest and sharing it with the world!

Hired this company to do a simple rock wall and steps. As of now they are falling apart 3 years…read morelater at many locations. One step did not have enough support under it and my wife nearly broke her back stumbling on it, when it gave way. I am so totaling disappointed in this companies work. Rocks are falling off the wall sporadically now, even on light package deliveries from Amazon. The flagstone steps have risen and fallen all over the place, with every joint crack compromised already. I should have watched things closer. It looked fine on completion, but masonry work is all in the mix. It is all about how rocks are applied and how steps are supported by what's underneath them. Obviously, the mix lacked the right proportions of sand, Portland cement, water and a bit of mortar to form a good glue bond for the rocks. Another error was that the rock surface obviously was not clean. Nor were the rocks "water misted" when putting the rocks in place...it's so obvious now (but too late), how this tragedy of a job has happened. I trusted this work to be completed to at least a fair standard but not to this degree of a disheveled mess. I'll have to spend thousands to have it all repaired and it's only been three years since it was built new. The owner even had the stones to ask me for $500 more during the job, reasoning granite flagstone have gone up in price. The job was 1/2 done and if I disagreed, he probably would have walked with the place in a complete excavational bedlam. I agreed hoping at least, the job would be done right, with some sense of honor, being that I had just granted him cordially, his requote request. The crew were very nice and worked very hard surely, but the owner did not enforce nor oversee the proper methods to building a simple retaining wall and steps here. I've built walls 10 times as big 30 years ago and my work still holds up to this day and still looks completely intact. This company at least on this job, failed miserably. Don't be fooled by the initial look of the work when you hand him your check. There could be a deeper sorrow awaiting you, in a few years, when you have to pay all over again, to get it repaired.
