Rocky beach and no waves because it's on the bay. Parking is $22 for non residents. Wish the water was clearer but it's natural. Brought water shoes but didn't really need them if you're careful. They have an East beach and West beach within park. West allows bbqs, larger fields and nice views. East beach is more like a beach due to lifeguard staff. They called ahead to explain they were there only for a 20 minute photo shoot and was told it was ok for dog to stay in car .. absolutely unprofessional.. then called cops because son got out of car with dog at gate and had to walk off property but they said dog was on property even walking of the property. May be a beautiful beach but attendents were aggressive and made a chaotic scene in front of lil children. . 3 hour drive to get told no entrance with dog who again wasn't going out of car for the 20 mins they would be there .. but before attacking my children they took her $22 and then tried to say my daughter in law and kids couldn't enter. I'm very upset as a parent and we have dash cam footage to prove their actions .. while she did the shoot a ranger followed and taunted her the whole 20 mins while trying to do her professional photo shoot .. they were instigating a reaction more than what already had occured. I'm a seriously mad momma bear and will be making a phone call to the park authority

Compo Beach is located in Westport, Connecticut…read more I was invited to this beach for their annual Fourth of July celebration, which consisted of an awesome fireworks display. The beach is nice and clean. They have a concession building that serves many desirable beach day food options, like hot dogs, burgers, chicken fingers, ice cream, etc. It's nice to have a place to eat without having to leave the beach. Nice plus for me. There are indoor bathrooms that are very clean which is also a nice plus. They have volleyball nets, a playground, places where you can grill out and more. Great for the whole family. This beach is located in a nice suburban neighborhood so the surrounding area is nice as well. I really enjoyed myself and hope to be back one day.

This is a nice off-leash dog park located in Norwalk by Calf Pasture Beach. There are usually a…read moregood number of dogs there at all times, so if your dog is off-leash, you'll want to make sure that they act appropriately. There is a small body of water, but it gets very, very muddy, so I would bring a few towels if you plan on letting your dog get wet. There isn't really a trail, per se, but there are a few rambling paths in the wooded area of the park. It's not huge, but it's large enough that dogs will have plenty of space to run and play fetch. It's larger than any gated dog parks I've been to in the area. The only downside of the park is very limited parking and you have to make sure you have an up-to-date Norwalk city permit. They are very strict about enforcing it. I once forgot my permit and I got a ticket!

There was plenty of parking throughout the park, including some improvised parking near the tennis courts. We headed for the nature trails which were well-maintained. There were SO MANY BUGS in the trails so come prepared! After spending a bit of time in the trails, we hit the playgrounds. There is one gated area for smaller kids and a bigger playground for big kids. They also have public restrooms near the little grill they have by the baseball fields. The bathroom was clean.
