Really happy! Found this place on Yelp and all you Yelpers did not disappoint. The Italian food here rivals what we find on the East Coast. I had the Pasta Fagioli which was rich in a tomato broth, over flowing with meat and vegetables and with the right amount of pasta. My kids had Pasta and sauce.....but it was not a run of the mill sauce....well seasoned! A proper marinara! Wife had pasta and mushrooms in a light sauce.....none was left in her plate! I'll start off by saying their pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is really nice to dine in. It was previously one of my favorite places to eat in Bristol. However, after today, I don't think I'll be back any time soon. I ordered a small pizza, which was great as always, and a Long Island Iced tea. The first drink she brought out had some weird black flakes floating in it (looked to me like the kind you get when you don't clean the nozzles on drink dispensers for a while). I brought it to our waitress's attention and she took it back, without apology, and brought me another a few minutes later. The second one also had some black flakes, though they were small and not as many, and a bug floating in it. (Looked like a large gnat maybe?) I got her attention, showed her the bug, and let her know I didn't want a drink anymore. She took it back, again without apology, and I heard/saw her laughing about it to a coworker. I didn't think it was funny - I thought it was pretty gross. They didn't offer to discount my meal, though she did apologize as we left. The waitress was very nice otherwise, but I got the impression she didn't really care that they tried to serve me a nasty drink twice or how I felt about it. read more

This was not good at all, I love Italian food and I have been to so many. But let's start the unsweetened tea was old and bitter, the Caesars said was ok. The spinach artichoke dip w shrimp was not good, under seasoned and bland. The manicott was aweful, seemed there was no seasoning to the filling and the marinara sauce was like pure tomato paste. I thought they may have mixed up the pizza sauce for marinara but apparently it's the same. Will never eat hear again. read more

We had a very pleasant evening at Machiavelli's. Started with sharing a caprese salad and pizza with wine and bourbon. The Reisling Doris had was excellent. I had a new, for me, bourbon then changes to Bulliet rye. All were quite good. The salad and pizza were excellent. Service was efficient without being bothersome. Very relaxed place, delicious food! Was in town on a business trip and looking for somewhere local and good. Had the manicotti and loved it, my coworker had the Mediterranean pasta. Service was a little slower but there was a huge private party going on while we were there so it was expected. Definitely recommend. read more

Machiavelli's is a great local bar, restaurant, and place to find good music of all kinds. The food is freshly prepared and the beer selection is great with frequent updates. The staff is friendly and Bill the bartender knows his stuff! He'll never steer you wrong on beer recommendations. And if you like something a bit stronger, ask him about a "Land's End." read more

This is only regarding the bar and giving 3 stars because I'm still in such shock that Bristol has some bars now. I was there over the Christmas holiday. I found myself very surprised at the minimal amount of beers they had. I'm use to bars in Charlotte having lots of beer options, some bars having up to 200 different beers to choose from. Hopefully their beer lists will continue to expand. Unfortunately there wasnt a band the night I was there also. read more

We were excited to learn about a highly rated Italian restaurant in Bristol. With my wife and in-laws in tow I headed off one cool October evening. Ambience was nice. Staff was remincent of the weather outside - cool. Food was unimpressive but not bad. Overall we all were disappointed. I doubt we will return. I'm a huge fan of Machiavelli's for several reasons. The food is good, the space comfortable, the wait staff friendly, and good live music from time to time. Bristol has needed a place (or several) like Machiavelli's! My favorite menu item is the pasta with olive oil and mushrooms. I add sun-dried tomatoes and feta. It comes with fresh basil as well and is a light, fresh, delicious dinner. Basically, you can add anything off the pizza item list to customize the dish for your taste buds. I love it. My older son loves the lasagna and my younger son and husband like the calzones. They're all excellent -- as well as the pizza. Getting take out pizza for dinner tonight! Yum! read more

I cannot say how awesome the staff is here . Today I came in and needed an area that I could do buisness review . Told the lady what I was doing , offered me the private back room . We were there for four hours and she was great checking in on us periodically . This wasn't the first time here , their food is amazing too . Yet if you are looking for a good space to have a buisness lunch/meeting ...amazing also ! Free wifi that works too ! Thank you again , this was a walk in also not a booked room . Passing thru on my way to Knoxville, I found Machiavelli's. Thank you once again, Yelp. The Pasta Fagioli soup was delicious. The meatball grinder contained obviously homemade meatballs and a tasty sauce on half a loaf of crusty Italian bread. The craft beer selection is well curated with half of the 10 taps dedicated to local or regional breweries. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a rare taste of Catawba Brewing's Peanut Butter Jelly Time Ale. Highly reccomend. read more

We are lunch here today. We ordered from the lunch menu. I had a cup of pasta fagoli soup and the vegetables pita pizza and a side of fruit. My husband had the Italian sausage sub. We were both very disappointed in our lunch choices. The pita pizza barely had any veggies on it and I could taste the sauce, it was spread so thin. We were driving through and stopped here for dinner. It was a Sunday night and busy but not overly so. We were seated at 6:30pm and ordered soon after since we were traveling with a very hungry 3 year old. We ended up waiting for almost an hour and a half for our food that never came and eventually left. The waitress came to check on us ONCE and apologized for the wait. Never came back, never offered us any appetizers or anything to compensate for the extremely lengthy wait time. So as far as food goes, I have no idea what it tastes like because we never got it. Prices seemed high for pizza but okay for "gourmet" pizza. Service was TERRIBLE!! Also, we had a seat we a clear view of the kitchen. Kitchen seemed very unorganized and dingy. let me just start by saying that if you're in the area, you HAVE to check this place out! amazing food, great service, and its not expensive either. my servers name was Tracy, and she was literally the nicest employee ive ever met...informative, and very funny. the food was one of the best meal ive ever eaten in my lifetime, and i didnt have to pay an arm and a leg to get it either. even the other customers in the restaurant were funny and nice. overall, i reccomend this place to anyone thats ready to get great food and a wonderful price! read more
