The fresh fried shells on the lengua tacos were thick and crunchy. The toppings were cilantro, tomatoes, radish and onion. These went well with the meat though I wish the dish contained less salt. The fries were covered in a batter and the potatoes were a bit sticky. Definitely a winner, though a question remains of what type of potato was used. I started coming here in random dates in 2008 in the old location in the strip mall across from the train (RIP) and followed it to the new location on Speedwell. A no-frills spot serving authentic Mexican food! You can order take out but there is a fairly large seating area inside which is where I opted to eat. The restaurant also has its own parking lot which is rare in Morristown. I placed my order at the front of the restaurant and my food was ready in a short amount of time. I opted for single orders of 3 different tacos (carnitas, carne asada, and chorizo/potato) and the small macho nachos. For the tacos, you can order 1 or 3 of each flavor. You also have the option of soft or hard shells. The nachos I ordered were "small" but it was definitely enough for 2 people to share! They come with guac and sour cream. The tacos were delicious and I would definitely order again. The nachos were good, but I would be okay with not getting again. Everything came out to about $15! Such a steal for a flavorful and filling lunch in this area. Other things to note -- I really liked that they have a standalone sink with soap and paper towels right next to the ordering counter. It means you don't have to go to the bathroom to wash your hands before and after eating. The womens bathroom was clean and nicely decorated. read more

We visited for a Thursday lunch, my dining companion returned to the tried & true macho nacho special, a pile of chicken, carne asada and chorizo plus guacamole and sour cream on a heap of chips, just $7 for the small which is a big meal. I opted for the California burrito but with the french fries on the side, spiced up from the bottles of red (hot) and green (medium) salsa. Bottles of water about a buck. Vegetarian rating: three stars, you can opt for cheese nachos, beans on your taco salad or tostadas, a veggie burrito or enchilada, etc. But they are really big on animal protein here so don't expect too much. BYO beer & wine is on point here and there's a liquor store literally next door in the same building, they should punch a hole thru to it lol. The ambiance is better than before, altho that's setting the bar low. Still has formica booths but they've added perfectly respectable tables and chairs. Brightly light & painted dining room. I have came here a couple times in the past. I usually order the chicken burrito, but I don't remember much of the taste. So, I decided to come back and try their $2 tacos instead. I came here with my boyfriend Wednesday afternoon. It wasn't very busy and there were seats/tables opened. The staff was really friendly and accommodating to everything we asked for. The $2 chicken tacos was alright. I didn't think it tasted terrible, but definitely not amazing. I got the soft shell taco and the shell broke very easily. I personally didn't like the taste of the tortilla, the texture was weird to me. However, my boyfriend thought it was fine. The chicken was too hard for my liking. I'm not sure if the chicken was supposed to be so hard and rough, but I was not a fan of it. The taco came with no cheese, no tomato, no sour cream. It was just lettuce and some limes. So I was just eating a taco with lettuce, lime juice, and chicken, which wasn't very flavorful. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, this restaurant is very average to me. I am so glad that the recipes stayed the same. My go to order is the Midtown Burrito. It is a breakfast burrito which includes, steak, cheese, eggs and hash brown with a chipotle sauce. I do find beans and rice very heavy in a burrito which is why I opt for this burrito. They have options to make any burritos a chimichanga which mean to deep fry it and comes with sours cream and veggies. It is definitely worth it considering it is only a $1 surcharge. But for New Jersey, it is solid. **********Many people are claiming the parking is bad ... and that now there's only street parking. I had originally thought this was the case, BUT I subsequently discovered a large, free parking lot behind the building. As such, parking is safe and easy. If you're ever constipated, try their spicy red sauce. You feel it coming in ... and a few hours later, you feel it coming out. Super spicy and it keeps you regular. read more
