Love ordering from here. Located in the Main Street of Dover (Blackwell) they have indoor seating and take out. If you're paying with a credit card you'll be charged an added fee for use of the card. Pay cash only if you want to avoid the fee. Their tacos are really good and not dry. We had the chicken, chuleta, al pastor tacos and they all were good. Prices were reasonable too. The quesadillas aren't your typical looking quesadillas (they look like a large oversized taco) but taste even better. The portions are big and decent and you won't leave disappointed. The guacamole is chunky which I love rather than emulsified. The guacamole isn't spicy so ask for it spicy if that's your guacamole vibe. If you're ordering to go make sure to check your order for chips because on two occasions the chips were left out of our order and who wants to eat guacamole without chips. read more

I ordered the Alabre taco for lunch. It was advertised as a set of three tacos with beef and onion. The tacos were warm and the meat was thoroughly cooked. It came with a few lime slices and a taco sauce. However I'm really disappointed with the lack of clarity around what the tacos were made with. Nowhere on the menu did it mention there would be melted cheese and pork bacon bits in the taco. I know cheese is more customary for a traditional taco, but I would've appreciated a heads up that it would be melted cheese as opposed to fresh crumbled. More importantly, I would not have ordered the tacos if I knew there was bacon in them. I have never heard of a traditional taco having bacon in it, and I was too little too late in learning there was in fact pork bacon after having eaten two tacos. I called after suspecting the bacon and explained I had ordered without knowing there was pork in the tacos because the menu did not advertise it as such. I do not eat pork for religious reasons and consuming it could've resulted in me getting sick, too. They did not apologize or offer a refund. I think it would be a good idea for this restaurant to be clear with the ingredients in their tacos and in the future do more to make up for their errors. read more

Decided to try this restaurant out since it's fairly new. In all honesty, was very disappointed... food was lacking flavor, the salsas were very very watery and flavorless, and I didn't feel too well after eating. Food was very greasy, maybe that's why my stomach hurt afterwards. But shortly after, I had the runs and even worse stomach pain. Couldn't sleep. I really hope they improve. It stinks that such a nicely decorated and cultured atmosphere serves below average food. There are many other Mexican restaurants within walking distance that are 100 times better. Brenda Lee needs to step up their game. I ordered a "cemita de res", not sure what kind of cemita this was bc the cemitas I've had in the past at other Mexican restaurants are very much different and 3 times the size of this one. The other plate were tacos al pastor. While they were better than my cemita de res, they still wouldn't have me coming back for more. My hopes aren't completely shut down for this place. Going to wait until they acquire more reviews and see if things change for better. But in the meantime, I won't be returning as I don't want to get sick again. read more

The quesadilla definitely is a taco, right? Idk how it qualifies a quesadilla. That said, it was a good, well-portioned taco. The burrito was just okay. We requested no beans, so we got a thin burrito with a lot of lettuce. The quality of the ingredients is good and the food was fresh, but we felt like we didn't quite get what we ordered. read more

I came here believing this was the same owners as Brenda Lee Taqueria that burned down over a year back. While I'm unsure if they're in the same family, it's not the same. We order lengua, tripa , al pastor, and cueritos tacos. We only liked the lengua. Now I used to come to the original Brenda lee taqueria for the tripa and ojos but they don't/didn't have ojos. We also got chorizo huaraches. Overall the flavor was lacking. The lengua had no flavor at all. The al pastor looked more like chicken and didn't have the right seasoning. The huaraches was ok. I am disappointed and we probably won't return. The original was a chain and there is one still open in Paterson. While I'm not a fan of the area, at least the tacos are great. Last, I forgot to mention the sauces. The green sauce had no heat and very little flavor. Then there was, what I believe was supposed to be the red sauce. It had no flavor, no heat, and was a pale brown. I thought that was weird. We have been very loyal to the original Brenda lee Taqueria and will be taking a longer drive to get to the one in Paterson.
