Came here on lunch break from a class. Small to medium sized venue with its own parking lot in the rear, & a pathway to make your way back around front to the entrance. Don't try to use the rear lot door like I did, that just goes to the kitchen, LOL! Bright location, with quick service. A lot of people came in and out while we were there, so it's popular within the neighborhood. About 7 tables inside for dining in, which we did. There's also an outdoor dining area in the front. The food was very good. Collectively we had the Chicken Salad, Beef Burrito, Chimichanga, & the Fish Tacos. All very good. I would come back again, if I were in the area. I think Delicias Latinas is a solid 3.5. I really enjoyed my Jamaica drink, which was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. My entree, chicken enchiladas with salsa verde and a side of rice and beans, was quite under-seasoned. Luckily, the hot sauce and other salsas that accompanied the dish enhanced the flavor quite a bit; otherwise, the dish would have fallen flat. My mate had the chicken quesadilla, which also needed some salt, but the hot sauce and other salsas helped bring it to life. Dear Delicias, Up front I want to say: keep your service. A very nice, friendly server, happy to work with me, and very honest about food. Too honest. Your menu lies. Point #1: Your menu says the elote is fresh corn. I got an appetizer of elote on that basis. It was nowhere NEAR fresh. The server willingly checked with the kitchen to confirm that the menu was wrong. Server very nicely took it off my bill, which is appropriate. Point #2: Your menu says the green enchilada is spicy. The server said it really isn't the verde, I want the roja for spicy. Well, I wanted the green flavor, so I asked if the kitchen could help. The kitchen did absolutely nothing, it came out as unspicy as the server said. Service is great, but the food quality is not (and the ambiance is very plain, which is fine for me but YMMV). Besides canned corn, you do not provide that much cheese or cream with dishes that promise it, the pulled pork in the enchilada tasted crusty and stale. The green sauce wasn't what I'm used to, not bad just different, so I don't mind. But there is a nice little place just north of here, Latin American Restaurant in Boonton, that also provides both Mexican and Honduran food and comes out with a LOT higher quality. Top meats, plenty of cheeses, and everything fresh. Unfortunately, I will have to recommend people either stay in Morristown or continue north to Boonton for good food. But I wish your friendly server the best, and I'll note the dessert that came from Pan Casero Bakery was top notch, so do go down to Morristown and give them a try! read more

I have been here a couple times when I have gone to a chess tournament Amateur Team East) nearby here at a hotel when we get eventually bored of the rather excellent food at the nearby Carmel Haifa. The food here is unique being a mix of Honduran and Mexican. The portion sizes are large and the food in terms of flavor is just alright. In terms of drinks, the batido/shake I have had (maracuya/passion fruit) was good while the horchata was very likely the packaged type judging by the blandness. From the Mexican side, the Elotes locos consisting of fresh corn with cheese, cream, chili powder and Valentina sauce is essentially their take on esquites. They are perfectly fine with a big portion though there is a little bit too much cream so the bottom is a bit watery (either this or the corn is not correctly drained if they use the canned stuff but I don't think so as there was a bit of hardness to said corn.) They are therefore not spicy enough but adding a bit more chili helps. Still reasonably priced and tasty. From the Honduran side of the menu, the Enchiladas Hondureñas are a bit more unique. As per per the photo and what I know from other spots, they are more similar to a Mexican tostada with a fried base. They are otherwise topped with ground beef, a cabbage slaw, and a pink sauce (salsa rosada.) while this sounds like it would be a flavor bomb, the fact that the ground beef is bland really doesn't help (which doesn't ruin the dish but it's disappointing.) I still would order from them again but they are so close to being more recommendable if they just put in a bit more effort. read more

New to the area, and happy to report that I have a new go-to spot for excellent Mexican eats. The menu has any and every dish that you'd expect -- tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas and more. We ordered a chicken quesadilla (grilled) and chicken enchilada verdes (shredded). There are also lots of other protein options like beef, chorizo and pulled pork. I wish they had steak though! The chicken in the quesadilla was so well seasoned and had hints of curry / bbq which made it interesting and flavorful. A portion is hefty and comes with four large pieces. It's topped with plenty of guac and sour cream. Enchiladas also have lots of well seasoned chicken. An order is plentiful with three, and comes topped with lots of lettuce, cotija cheese and sour cream. Prices are fair and the order was ready for pickup in 15 minutes. Excited about this option when I'm craving delicious Mexican food! read more

Solid Honduran & Mexican specialities at this small place, two tables inside and two picnic tables outside, it's mostly takeout in these virus times. Order inside, they'll bring your food out to you in styrofoam. We sat outside, no chips & salsa so instead we started with tostones, plantain pancakes served with strips of fried chorizo and guacamole for $8, hot and yummy. For mains we tried the enchiladas rojas (red) and enchiladas verde (green), both came with a distracting amount of lettuce on top of the enchiladas lol, sides of rice and beans were just ok. Fish tacos were corn tortillas wrapped around deep-fried tilapia plus cabbage and sauce, a lime wedge for each, very good. An order of churros came with a side of caramel sauce, good & hot but not quite done in the middle needed a bit longer in the fryer. Probably should stick to the Honduran side of the menu, I think that's where these people's hearts are, I'll order smarter next time. Free parking in their private lot around back. You could bring your own, they're probably fine with it, altho not sure what Morris Plains might say about drinking beer at a table outside. read more

The order was during COVID so we opted for pick up. There is a decent sized lot behind the building and the walk to the front is short. The food came out later than promised (about 15mins late and no apology offered). The dining room was small with a large placard on the wall displaying the items available with photos. The walls have a Mexican decor with a village painting adorning tbehind the counter. I like that they have a heater for food that is awaiting pickup. I wasn't a fan of three of the workers handling food and sides (like guac and salsa) without any sign of gloves (it's not like there's a global pandemic or anything). My wife ordered tacos and chicken quesadillas with only chicken and cheese. The chicken had a good seasoning and the tacos were of the soft shell variety. I opted for the shrimp fajitas. The tortillas were rather bland and the rice and shrimp were ok but not spectacular. With so many Mexican restaurants in the area, we don't think we will be coming here again. read more

Wasn't to pleased with this spot, I respect the workers, very nice but the food wasn't to my inspections for my first time. I had two beef empanadas I also had tres Leches & I also had chicken and beef tacos The empanadas were good and crispy I liked them. The tres Leches was okay, the cake to me didn't really leave a satisfying taste at the end when eating. It tasted dry. Like a I needed a beverage. So I wasn't into the tres Leches that much. The chicken and beef tacos didn't sit right neither. They definitely give you a lot of beef for the taco but the wraps were too soft. They couldn't hold all the weight of the beef as seen in the picture the tacos became a salad. Which isn't what I was looking for otherwise I would've gotten the salad. But The chicken also wasn't all that but maybe it's just me. I would go back for the empanadas but nothing else. I mean who knows maybe my tasting was off. But you know when a meal was put through the love meter and given that extra kiss before giving to a customer. This one didn't sit. But we all different. Came into town for something and was looking for a local place to support during "the Vid". So many places are closing or not open so we wanted to support a local business since we were out of town. Thankfully Delicias Latinas was open, and the name was fitting. This place was so tasty, and flavorful. We ordered 3 different meals and all three were delicious large portions. Delicias Latinas never fails to provide a flavorful and fresh meal. Whenever we pick up food, the person at the cashier is always really nice and friendly. I never remember to take pictures but some of our favorites include the cheese quesadilla gigante, the vegetarian burrito, and the mary tierra salteado. The horchata is also delicious and I love the rice pudding and tres leches for dessert. 10/10 recommend if you live in the area and need somewhere to grab takeout! read more

This restaurant was formerly Chico's Mexican Grill, then El Mariachi. It has been remodeled a bit to have more the look of a diner, or even a bakery. There are several tables outside that you can use but I do not believe the waiter/waitress comes out to serve you there. The people running Delicias are very nice and it may be around for a while but I do not see it getting to the business level of Chico's, which moved to a larger spot in Denville and seems to be doing fine. The selections seem to be more of the tapas style and less Mexican and seem to represent a broader assortment of Latin dishes. For example, there was no automatic serving of chips and salsa for the table. On this Saturday night there were several other customers but it was not crowded. I had the burrito with ground beef which was tasty, but had no melted cheese or sauce of any kind on it. Delicias provides two bottles of sauces you can use, one a green cilantro type and the other a reddish brown both are medium spicy. Since some of the offerings may be unfamiliar they have a large board on the wall with photos of each. When we left we were satisfied but this is not a place we would come to frequently. It is simple, a BYOB, there is free parking in the back and it is nicely decorated inside, mostly a holdover from Chico's. read more

Local restaurant with various of items on the menu. From tacos to pancakes, it's a good place to go for lunch. The wait time to both order and wait for the food is short. They have a morning special that consists of a large coffee and choice of breakfast sandwich make which seems promising. There is parking located in the back of the restaurant so that's a plus. I had the tacos (chorizo and al pastor) and they were decent. First visit was pleasant and I look forward to coming back for a second visit. read more

We've lived in Cedar Knolls for about 6 years and have never been to this place...ever. Even having passed by it almost every day while heading to the train station. It doesn't look like much on the outside but today we finally decided to order takeout. Never would I have imagined the food would be so delicious!!! We ordered the shredded chicken tacos, fish tacos, mar y tierra salteado, and churros. There was not a disappointing moment, even the white rice was amazingly delicious. Its white rice!!!! How can it even taste so good!! Once we were stuffed from dinner, we had some of the bomb churro's, tastes like it was freshly made and perfectly sweet. Amazing. I have eaten the breakfast platter, the Bolón Platter, and the Tigrillo. They were all excellent. The coffee and espresso is surprisingly smooth and delicious. I had a great experience at Delicias Latinas! I ordered the tacos, and I was surprised to see that the shells were homemade and fresh out of the fryer. I was glad that they didn't fall apart when I bit into it! The ground beef was seasoned well, and the cheese was gooey on top of the taco. The service was great and the servings are large. Tried this place for the first time about 1 week ago. Empanadas were great. The veggie fried rice was very good however it would be great if pieces of chicken were used instead of shredded. Using shredded chicken resulted in bites of dry meat in the meal. The enchilada was "ok"... I expected it to be smothered in sauce and cheese. However it was not.
