I don't know what the prices are for pick your own apples, but for those who are handicapped and cannot do so the prices for pre-picked varieties are much higher than you'll find at local grocery stores. One would think that not having to transport their apples to sell them elsewhere would be rewarded with a lower price, but apparently the owners of Mack's are getting as much $$$ out of people as they possibly can. That said, most of the pre-picked apples are pretty good if you can eat them right away. They do go bad pretty quickly, so that tells me they've probably been picked for quite some time. We've enjoyed their Asian pears, as well. Weekends are crazy busy here, so come during the week if you can! read more

My absolutely favorite place to go apple and pumpkin picking every Fall. I have been going here with my mother since I was a kid but for the past few years I have been going with my husband and son! I almost hate myself for writing this review, adding to the growing number of voices that Mack's is the best experience for apple picking one could possibly have. But I love to share, so here it is! A large number of apples abound for PYO, yet the honeycrisp from Mack's are the most delicious apples ever to land on my tastebuds. While the ones in their store are good, there's nothing better than fresh from the tree. $20 for a peck will get you a good number of apples and a few hours of fun. Be sure to taste ones from a tree or two to make sure it's a good tree. Go the first or second weekend they're available because the good ones will be gone after that! read more

This place is a scam. I went to go apple picking at their locations (there are 2) and was thoroughly disappointed. We went to the first location (sites #1 and #3). We bought our bags as one would and went on our way to pick apples. As it is towards the end of apple picking season it is reasonable that were not a lot of apples to be picked. With this being the case we decided to go to the second location (site #2). Upon the arrival to the second location we went on our way to pick the apples because we had already paid for our bags and they were marked to indicate we had paid. Quickly before we could pick any apples, a worker approached us and informed us that we cannot pick apples here because we did not pay for a new bag. This was appalling to me. Why, when these sites are the same owner and company, would I need to buy a new bag to pick apples when I had already paid for one. Then, when I asked if I could go back to the first site and look for apples again, they told us we would again have to buy a new bag because we had left the premises. This is a scam and stealing. When they advertise that they have two sites to pick apples from they should also advertise that you have to pay separately at each location, or even better, have one price for both locations instead of BAMBOOZLING your customers. I am greatly disappointed and I will NEVER return to Mack's "criminal" Apples ever again. read more

Got here too late in the season to pick apples, but got to try a bunch and put together a peck from the bins of pre-picked apples. Good selection and price of apples ($6 for 1/2 peck) and assorted squash ($.79 a pound)- we bought some we know we love, as well as a new variety to try! Staff answered my questions somewhat reluctantly, but gave good info. Was mostly disappointed by the apple cider donuts. They sold in a bag of 6, but they were very dry, and crumbly with very little taste. They tasted like plain cake donuts, an unfortunate first apple cider donut experience! Would go back if it was convenient for the apples and squash, but didn't quite satisfy my desire to visit a farm and do "fall things"! read more

I agree with the other bad reviews.. Hands down the worst orchard ever! If you want to be judged and accused after paying $75 for three large bags of apples, definitely come to this prison orchard! Apples are decent but the staff are just plain horrible people! I've been to tons of different orchards and this place is the worst place ever! Customer service is what makes the customers happy right? they definitely need some training on customer service and how to run a business! Do not support macks prison! I'm having Obama Campaign withdrawal. Any who I spent quite a few months of my life interning on Obama's Campaign, (and even more months volunteering). At Mack's Apples Obama gave one of his first speeches on his environmental policy and I was there filming it all for the campaign. We got free apples, I got the closest I ever had been to Obama (while working and holding a camera). Later I returned with my friend and visited the peace pole and had ice cream at Mack's. A large roadside stand and U-pick apple operation. They are very organized, you pull up to an area with an attendant puchase your empty apple bag and are directed to an area to pick your apples. There are some trees that have ribbons that are reserved but there are a great many trees with bountiful apples at all height levels. Mack's is the best in the business for apples. The farmstand has a great vibe to it and they are always helpful in getting my apples out as I do buy a lot when I'm there. The apple bags are priced right for the product they sell and I like how I can always try all the varieties out at the sample table before I commit to any given one, especially since some varieties are better to buy at different times of the year than others and its better to wait with some varieties. There's always something good to buy when they are open for apples. The ice cream is good too, as they get it from Richardson's; this is what keeps them going during the summer. read more

Mack's used to be wicked awesome! However, they got really greedy over the past several years. Their prices have gone way up and they started charging even more for the fancy varieties. On a similar note, a few years ago they had bumper crops of everything due to nice weather and tons of rain. We couldn't afford to get our pumpkins there because they were all so huge and they didn't calibrate the price to take into account the extra growth. When I tried to talk to the staff about it, their answer was, "Well, it doesn't look like we're having any trouble selling them." And then she just looked right past me and said, "Next!" No longer customer friendly, they treat you as a nuisance if you have any questions at all and are all about raking in the dough. We now go to Lull Farms and Sullivan's. Much nicer feel! read more

This was a really well organized place to pick apples. In mid-October, there were at least 5 different types to chose from. We got a bag for $13, then started to fill it to our heart's content. Across the street was a nice little shop with random apple-farmish items and ice cream. The best part is how they have the most hilarious political-sort of signs posted along the road. read more

I went to Mack's for some apple picking with my husband, brother and sister in law. We paid $20 for a bag of honey crisp apples. You have to get at least one bag per every two people. You are also allowed to mix in the other types of apples if you pay more for the honey crisp. There are plenty of rows to pick from. I would recommend bypassing the first 10 or so trees to find trees that have lots of apples left at this time of year. We had a great time eating and picking the different types of apples. One of my favorite places in the world. I basically grew up picking apples and pumpkins here, running around in the woods and the fields by the pond, and sledding down the famed "Mack's Hill." The apples are the BEST I have ever had ANYWHERE, and I eat a lot of apples! My favorite are mutsu (a bit tart) and honeycrisp (fresh and sweet). Their mutsu apple cider is to die for. All of the treats that they have in the farm stand are so delicious and feel like home. During the summer, the ice cream stand is a great treat, although the line gets a little long after dinner time on a nice warm night. Everyone who works here is so nice and helpful. I hope that Mack's Apples continues to bring happiness to Londonderry residents for years to come. read more

This place was so beautiful and the apples delicious. To avoid confusion based on other reviews I asked about the picking policy - each of 3 areas (which you have to drive too from main Mack's location) charges a different price based on apple varieties at the location - also there are some rows asked not to be picked which can create confusion - as I think customers assume they buy a bag and then pick apples in the orchard. We really didn't experience an issue with this. We paid $25 for a half bushel and had a good time with the kids. The owners and workers were so nice - we walked the rows with the kids pulling a wagon and then just stayed and let them run around the field by the stand. Well worth the drive. Went to main location first and picked up cider and pears at their store and to ask questions. No hay rides or petting zoo or hot cider donuts but perfect for apple picking. We will be back. The place was packed but the orchards were surprisingly uncrowded. read more

Gone are the days where apple picking was an affordable venture for the family to spend a Sunday afternoon... that is at Mack's Apple at least. Now I like to be a knowledgeable consumer and when I go to any food establishment the first thing I look to do is gauge on how much the experience will cost me. No matter how hard I looked I could not find any signs for clear pricing for the picking experience. You would think it would be logical to have a price board at their main location where they have the directory giving you locations of their multiple fields. But not when you think your prices would drive prospective customers away. Driving up to one of their fields and standing in line to get a bag this is when I finally saw a sign with some pricing on it: $12 for a peck, $20 dollars for 1/2 bushel. Okay, so far this seems fairly reasonable. Then I saw another sign $12 for mac and cortalnds $20 for gala and honey crisp. A person sound of mind would easily be confused by this purposefully poor advertising. "If I spend $20 dollars on a 1/2 bushel I will be able to pick delicious gala and honey crisp," not the case at all. To pick gala or honey crisp apples it is an extra $20! So let's do some simple addition, $20 for 1/2 bushel bag + $20 for the fee to pick gala and honey crisp = $40! or the equivalent of 1/3 of an average house holds grocery bill for the week. I don't mean to spell it out but I'm doing a lot of people a favor because Mack's Apples sure doesn't. Reading some other reviews from disgruntled customers they feel that they are in apple orchard prison when enjoying their picking experience. It makes you wonder why people feel this way, maybe its for the fact that employees look like guards doing routine patrols and the chatter on their radios of customers they feel are acting suspicious or "stealing" I'm sorry if we are all normal people who find it normal to obtain their moneys worth when they spend top dollar. Even if you do spend the extra $20 like a honest american you will be disappointed to find the honey crisp and gala apple trees barren of their succulent fruit. Mack's Apples has an advantage over other local orchards having the real estate and variety of apples and other autumn yields such as pumpkins. Instead of priding themselves on a fun family experience that helped the farm grow in generations past it seems that the new generation is only concerned about growing one green crop anymore and that is money. read more

The place at Mack's Apple Farm in Londonderry NH is suck.. The workers there are very rude. They always think the customers are there to steal the apples. Never think how much the customers had spent at the farm house stand? I, that day had spent close to $300.00. I bought five $39.99 a jar of honey and five $25 UPick bags other stuffs. Watch out for the older ugly lady, I think she is the supervisor there at UPICK at location #3, she make you buy another bag of apples if you bagged too many apples and question if the customers hide apple in the car. Don't go here! I live here and have been picking apples and pumpkins at Mack's for over 20 years and this was the last time I will ever go here. I frequently walk my dog there with their permission in the summer and fall. After paying $36 for three small bags and seeing no less than 6 other families pile out of their cars with their dogs, I started down a path with my family and which included another dog (poopy bags in hand of course). From out of nowhere this car pulled up abruptly and this woman (the apple patrol) jumped out of her car with a handicapped plate (so not handicapped) and was extremely rude accusing us of picking in the wrong row - we weren't. We were walking around the path with the intention of cutting over to one of the few rows we would be allowed to pick in. Then she said we weren't allowed to have the dogs. She neglected to mention this two weeks prior when the very same woman waved to me as I was entering the orchard to walk my dog. Did I mention I saw no less than six other families with dogs? I got my check back, ripped it up, and went to Sunnycrest Farms where we had a lovely afternoon. They have no problem with families bringing their dogs as long as you pick up after them. Also, no crazy row restrictions - just pick anywhere. It was much less hectic and will be my go to place to pick apples from now on. There are many orchards in the area and three in Londonderry alone so Mack's better watch how they treat their customers. No one wants to feel like they robbed a bank when they are trying to have a relaxing family day. If you are going to spend almost $40 on apples you should at least feel welcomed. read more

This review is for the ice cream stand ONLY. I came here with my daughter on a scorching Sunday afternoon and it was fairly quiet. I ordered the death by chocolate/ chocolate lover's (whatever they call it here) as a small sundae and a kiddie vanilla sundae for my girl, and a soda. The girl working by herself made my ice cream first (I would be making the kid's first, but that's me). I took one look and saw the ice cream was literally covered in freezer burn. I spent about $5 for this and was not about to throw it away. When the young girl brought out my daughter's ice cream, I pointed out the freezer burn and asked if she could make me something else. She asked if I wanted more of that flavor. Did I want more freezer burn? No, I'll get another flavor and I had to chose it on the spot because by now there was a big line and she was by herself. She did make me another cup of ice cream. And she forgot my soda I paid for. I'll absolutely be back to Mack's later this year for pumpkins and apples. I have been going since I was 4 or 5, and now I can do the same with my daughter. But for ice cream, I will drive a little further to Nashua for my favorite ice cream stand. read more
