Amazing farm to bring the whole family to! Lots of seasonal offerings and activities! Love the farm stand, we stop by every couple days and get freshly picked produce and goodies! The animals here are neglected. Visited this past weekend. Filthy conditions for them with no fresh water and mud in their food dishes. The cow was laying in about 6 inches of manure. The horse looked emaciated. I cannot get these images out of my head. read more

I discovered J&R Farms at the local Salem Farmers Market. I was excited to find a freezer full of locally grown meat. Today they had just beef (rib steaks, chuck, ground beef). They report that they have pork, and chicken for sale too on the farm up in Derry. I got two steaks, and they grilled up great, so tender and flavorful. The veggies are great too. But I am drown to the meat, as local meat is hard to find here in Southern NH. They are on Facebook too. So look them up. read more

I absolutely love this farm, and I've always found the staff, owners, and everyone there to be pleasant, helpful and kind. I feel like some people just complain Bc they like and need to be "heard" Whoever was complaining was probably asking super annoying questions to begin with. Feeding into the hype of social media about treatment of animals etc. I'll tell you, these people LOVE their animals. I've seen their young children helping to care for them and they do it lovingly. They're up all hours of the night if need be, to take good care of them. read more

I have always loved this farmstand and been a patron for years. This afternoon I stopped to buy some produce and mums and was shocked that no one working inside the farmstand was wearing a mask. Ironically every customer, and there were many, had on masks. What a total lack of respect for the health and well being of the customers. Unfortunately I won't be returning again. read more

We have got 3 times now and every time, and I cringe every time. Every time I've gone, there's been food that should be refrigerated (think meats and dairy products) sitting out, stacked up bear the cash register area for hours (at least while we were there). Everything is a huge breeding ground for cross contamination. Of its product thats gone bad, don't leave it out for people to see. Theres never an Adult around,, it's always children running the store and usually don't have answers or much Information. It all makes me not want to buy anything, at least nothing that's not been professionally pre packaged. The freezers have literal trash, half eaten food and rotting food stashed in them. The "fresh" produce is over priced, which I didn't mind because I was hoping to support a local small business. I was so disappointed when I got home and found that my produce was mostly inedible. My ead of garlic literally turned to dust when I tried to break it apart to use, it was so dried out. My sweet potstoes had more rotten spots than good, I threw 80g away and had to change dinner plans last minuet. Weve only gone in the winter as a quick adventure for our young kiddos but seeing this makes me wonder it it's worth supporting this farm during the rest of the season. I wish I had a better experience because I love supporting local small business but I'll be looking for another farm. read more

I love this place. Best tasting meat around at VERY reasonable prices. I love knowing that I am getting my meat from a local farm that treats animals with respect and does not load them full of drugs. They also have awesome veggies, eggs, milk, ice cream and pumpkins in the fall. I bet the pork and chicken are good but I wouldn't know b/c they are always sold out! Love J&F farm. It's my go to place. Just a note to the people leaving bad reviews because there are no portable toilets, or tons of animals in the petting barn, it's a farm stand, and a very good one. It's not a petting zoo. People go there to get vegetables, meat, and other consumables. They don't run up and ask if they can help you because, well it's a farm stand and you should know what you want. This is a working farm and not there for your entertainment. As with most farms, they can only offer what is available and ready to pick in the fields. I love this place. The people are always helpful when I have questions and they have good quality produce, meat and eggs. read more

I visited J&F farms a few days ago with my parents and a friend. I expected to see animals kept well and happy and I wanted to pet them and feed them. Coming from a 15 year old kid this should say a lot that it was disgusting and very depressing. I own a Holland lop bunny & I had noticed the farm has 3 bunnies that are kept in hutches, I'm sure their entire life there. Rabbits need fresh hay and are not supposed to be bottle fed because they can become easily dehydrated. I will say the rabbits did have water but absolutely NO fresh hay or pellets. They are sleeping on wired floors and in a constant position on top of piles of poop and pee. There is no escape. The rabbits fur was matted and it was a terrible situation. I figured I would ask to see if the pellets for the other animals was safe to give the rabbits so i asked, the lady at the front desk was clueless and didn't even know what was in them. I'm completely upset and sad that these animals spend everyday in misery. Please don't go here. read more

This seemed like a great place to take your little ones for a quick trip. The farm animals are wonderful in the indoor petting farm. They have a sandbox , books and a few more kid friendly things. Unfortunately, the staff was not friendly at all. I actually felt super uncomfortable because they seemed VERY irritated by visitors as they worked. When we went to buy something from the shop, we waited almost 10 minutes before someone came over to check us out and we were the only ones there on a weekday. No apology and no thanks to us for visiting. No smile, nothing. Odd. I appreciate the attempt for a kid friendly opportunity but the rude interactions made it not worth it. read more

Driving by J&F Farms when I was in NH this past June reminded me how I never yelped them..months later, I'm finally doing it. J&F is awesome. This is the place we always used to go to when I was growing up. It's pretty close to my parents house, and practically on my sister's doorstep. The best thing about them is their pick your own strawberries. When you pick your own, they're cheaper, and you choose the berries you like. You can even ride on a tractor hay ride thingie if you're too hot to walk. If you have no time for picking, you can always buy berries, and other fruits and veggies, at their store. Support your local farm by buying fresh food! It's good! They also have little pies and things, and natural gourmet sodas. They even have a little petting farm of a couple animals on the side! read more

I love, love, love this place. I love going for the tomatoes, corn, and strawberry's. The very first thing I do when I get out of the car is go straight to the animals. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 star is because I feel like they need to expand the animal spaces. This past year the cow was sharing a spot with the goats....now the goats kept keeping the cow towards the back and making it scared. I didn't like that at all, but it didn't seem like they wanted to accommodate the animals spaces to make them happier. That's the only thing they need to change. read more

I have been going to J + F Farms in Derry for several years now. They carry a wonderful selection of veggies in the summertime. They have the BEST butter + sugar corn! I will not go anywhere else. I look forward to their corn every year! They have a small petting zoo for the kids to enjoy. The staff there are always friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. I brought my toddler to J&F farm last week with several other moms and their kids. With 10 people, you are given an entry fee of $8/person (1 year old and younger are free). This includes a hay ride to go pick out a pumpkin, going to see the animals and a corn maze. My son enjoyed all of it. The corn maze is perfectly suited for younger kids. The farm itself was clean and well maintained. There is a nice sizable farm stand that is open year round now. They sell a variety of produce and some really delicious maple frosted apple donuts. I will definitely be bringing my son back here. read more

A great farm stand full of only the freshest of seasonable vegetables. They also carry farm fresh eggs, meats, cheese, honey and other products. During the summer months I make a habit of swinging by after work either for fresh corn on the cob or the makings of a cucumber / tomatoe salid. Unfortunately we just tried to visit and it was very frustrating. First we went to the side with the animals where we met two young girls who had no idea what I was talking about in regards to the baby animals but they let me pet the cows which was nice. They're very fluffy and very cute. Two cars pulled in behind us and we all kinda stood around and then didn't know what to do so we left. We drove back to the building down the road with the flowers to look at those and saw a sign that the baby animals were inside so we go in and again, nobody around and my family stood there with another family for a minute then we saw the sign saying the animals were through the door and when I went to open it a girl came out as I was opening it so I said "oh sorry" she stares at me and then almost shuts my hand in the door and says we can't go in there and mumbles something about a bull? So frustrated I ask if there's anyone around I can talk to that knows what's going on and she immediately gets an attitude and starts getting louder so I walk away and she is still being loud as I walk away which was pretty rude. This is the second time in two years we tried and this year failed as hard as last year. We visit during the fall and we've brought our Christmas tree over but it's near chaos in the spring with signs that aren't right, people have no idea what's been posted on Facebook and the second girl was rude. Lesson learned: only visit in the fall. 5 star for fall though!!!!? read more

Ripped off. We did pick your own tomatoes they said it's $25 for one bushel and on top of that they charged $4 for a basket that actually worth less then a dollar. We used our own bag instead, after we got home we weighted the bag there were only 9 lbs of tomatoes which it's only 1/3 of a bushel. They charged us $16 which is the price for 2/3 of a bushel. Everything sold in the farm stand is expensive and they are not certified organic. Animal "farm" is tiny and they charge a dollar for a tiny cup. read more
