12/28/20 I am so…read morehappy to be able to write this review of Fountain Transport Services. I have only written like 5 reviews of anything in my whole life, but I had to give a shout out on this one. I initially dreaded the process of finding someone to transport my Mom's 2015 Prius ('Sweetie Pie') from Des Moines to Florida. All the car transportation reviews seemed likely to be paid for and probably unreliable; I tried calling somebody and they barely spoke English; all the companies online are actually 'distributors' or something, that give your information out to all sorts of people that call or email you relentlessly (they're still calling me- now over 2 months since I filled out one of the online forms- Ugg!) So, my strategy was to look into the Des Moines Better Business Bureau under Car Transportation and find someone with good ratings there and then give them a call- I've always had good luck with Iowa businesses! That's how I found Fountain Transport Services. When I called them, I got a recorded message from a guy saying 'Hi, this is Dave Fountain, sorry I missed your call- Leave your name and number and I'll call you back'. This sounded promising- the apparent Owner of the company still answers the phones! I left a message letting him know that I wanted a car hauled to Florida on a specific date. After 2 days, he hadn't called me back- so I called him again and this time, he answered the phone. When I asked him why he didn't call me back, he apologetically and clearly explained that it was because he just didn't feel right 'wasting my time' when in the car transport business, you just can't guarantee a car will be picked up on a specific date. After a 5-10 min conversation, his honesty, integrity, good manners and respect for my time convinced me that this was the guy to haul Sweetie Pie to Florida. Once Dave explained that he couldn't nail down a 100% specific date, without incurring extra costs, (I was only going to be in Des Moines for a 2-day window for car pickup), he kindly offered to keep Sweetie Pie at his own house for us till the truck came to pick it up, possibly as much as 1-2 weeks later, (due to Xmas holidays). This was fine with us. Dave and his wife drove to my Mom's house in Des Moines and personally drove Sweetie Pie 20 minutes away, to their own home where she waited for the truck. In terms of cost, he warned me that the cost would be as much as $1100 to $1150, which was the same as other quotes I had been getting from other places. When Dave finally found the hauler that he felt best about, it turned out it only cost $975 (it helped that Sweetie Pie was a Prius and could fit on a smaller trailer). Everything happened ahead of schedule- Sweetie Pie arrived in Florida in 5 days, instead of the originally expected 1-2 weeks. All in all, Dave is one of those guys where you just can't believe he's still in business- He took so much time with me in the course of our dealings, that he can't possibly be making a living and I suspect that his sweet wife may eventually kill him for spending too much time with customers! Stephanie quoted quoted $850 - $1200 for the service to tow for 4 miles. A request to speak with the owner or manage Andres, was made with NO CALL BACK after 3 days. Then calling Friday to ask for a wench service for a future appointment on the upcoming Sunday, I were assured it could be done after the employee talked with Stephanie. We had it arranged for sometime between 12-2 and willing to wait if they were serving other customer. One hour later we received a call that they " COULD NOT PERFORM" that service. CROW TOWNING ... WAS HAPPY TO PREFORM the simple task. for an OUT OF TOWN CLIENT! Not a good experience from IOWA FIRST CALL TOWING

If I could give no stars, I would have. I have tried, on two separate occasions, to contact IFCT…read morefor a jump and both times I was unsuccessful. They do not answer the phone and do not return calls or e-mails. They are far from 24 hour service. Additionally, when I try to use my landline to call, I get a message stating that calls from private numbers are not accepted. I'm not quite sure what that means.
