We had an extremely negative and frankly dangerous experience with Macktech Diesel EXPRESS LLC. The mechanic demonstrated a profound lack of knowledge, professionalism, and basic mechanical skills, ultimately leaving my truck in a much worse, and severely unsafe, condition. ​Major Issues Encountered & Resulting Safety Hazards: ​Profound Lack of Knowledge: While attempting basic brake work, the mechanic misidentified the crucial caliper adjustment bolt (used to back out the piston) as being "for oil." I had to physically show him how to use a screwdriver to easily adjust the caliper and remove the old pads. ​Negligent Component Damage: During the flawed work, the mechanic pushed in and damaged the speed/ABS sensor (as confirmed in our text exchange). Worse, he failed to properly handle the internal components, resulting in damage to the main bearing and the subsequent incorrect installation of the ABS Ring. ​Unauthorized, Incorrect Parts Used: The mechanic did not re-install the original parts, instead attempting to upsell and install an incorrect, universal aftermarket part in a critical assembly. ​Catastrophic Vehicle Failure & Safety Warnings: Due to his damage to the bearing, ABS sensor, and the faulty ABS Ring installation, my truck displayed multiple safety warnings ("ABS Not Working Service Required" and "Active Brake Assist Not Available"). The truck can no longer read the speed correctly, which is dangerously affecting the transmission's shifting. ​Negligent Reassembly: I have video evidence of him failing to re-install all bolts on covers near the rotor and leaving others dangerously loose. ​Financial Loss and Unprofessional Conduct: ​Excessive Charges for Flawed Work: After over 5 hours of fumbling, he completed the work (incorrectly) and tried to charge an outrageous $1000 for his mistakes. I paid him $600 for the partial, flawed service. ​Additional $570 to Fix His Mistakes: I was forced to take the truck to a certified mechanic who diagnosed and fixed the specific failures caused by Macktech Diesel EXPRESS LLC, including the bearing damage and the ABS ring issue. This repair cost me an additional $570. ​Unprofessional Conduct: When confronted with his failures and the resulting safety lights, he refused to take responsibility. When I paid him, he became confrontational and verbally abusive, calling me names. He also admitted to not having the proper tools and repeatedly asked me, the customer, to assist him. ​A professional mechanic must stand by their work and have the necessary skills and integrity. Macktech Diesel EXPRESS LLC possesses none of these. Do not use this mechanic for any work.
