Actually, he was referred to me by my equally talented regular dentist, which is even better. I have extreme bone loss in my jaw, getting worse all the time, and I lost all of my teeth. I also lost all of my implants put in by another dr because of the bone loss. I wasn't able to eat solid food for almost two years. I was horribly depressed, and so sick of cup-of-soup I wanted to destroy their factory. Dr. Nelson found a solution, a special kind of implant, and I am back to chewing! The first sign of weirdness was that there initially was some disconnect on who would be reaching out to whom first to schedule. Day of consult appt, we were first of the day at 9am, the office staff were late in opening the office. The actual consult was quick, but not before the doc decides to speak with and take care of another patient who had come in after us. Then there was the back and forth between myself, my dental insurance and the office staff in needing a "pre-authorization" in order to get an estimate--something I was told could take up to 30 days. I kept waiting and kept giving this office benefit of the doubt--until finally they stopped responding to my text messages and phone calls. That whole ordeal lasted about 2.5 months. We ended up finding a different oral surgery office and knocked out the procedure in about a month from initial consult to the procedure itself. All in all--a really weird and unprofessional experience. The office staff and doctor were pleasant enough though during our in person interaction--it's just everything else kind of didn't add up...
