I went in to get some new tubes for my bike. They were pretty busy for a morning so I wandered around for a bit until they could help me. I checked out the accessories, which they have a lot of, and some of the eBikes. Once the crowd thinned out, they were very pleasant and made sure I got what I needed. I went there to try out e-bikes. The two I tried were a Townie and an Aventon. Like both. I am not buying at the moment but there was No pressure, and they were very helpful people. If the person that I was working with was on the phone, then the next one came over to help. That's not a problem because they don't work on commissions. I went during the week and Ingot the attention I needed. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I ended up buying a new seat for my other bike. They are happy with whatever business you give them. My $20 seat was treated as well as if I were to walk out with a $2k electric bike. I will go back once I decide which way I'm going for a e bike. read more

Macomb bike is the place to go when you need a bike or something to go along with it. They also do repairs to bikes. Sometimes the repair can be done right on the spot and other times you might have to leave it. But either way when you get the bike back it will be right. Over the years we have bought four bikes and one trailer. Everything exceeded our expectations. Staff is quick to acknowledge you when you walk in the door and help you with any of your bike needs. Long story short, due to me not pulling the trigger fast enough on a aventon sinch 2, aventon website didn't have anymore. So I called 6 bike shops and found 1 an hour away. These guys are great! I purchased an Aventon Aventure EBike from the manufacturer and had it delivered to my house. After unboxing it I decided it would be better and safer to have a professional assemble it. I emailed Macomb Bike and they contacted me the next morning and said they could do it. The bike is huge and would not fit in the back of my SUV, then gladly said they would come to my house and pick it up, assembly it and drop it back off! I like in the same city, so I am not sure how far they will drive out, but man was it convenient. My only regret was not buying the bike directly from the store. They let you test drive all kinds of different models and answer all of you questions. read more

Absolutely, five stars! Customer service is fantastic; they really go above and beyond for you and are very knowledgeable about all things cycling. Case in point - I recently (well not so recently any more really) purchased a Schwinn indoor bike in preparation for the winter. I did not purchase this bike from Macomb Bike and Fitness, I purchased directly from Schwinn. However, Macomb Bike and Fitness is an authorized Schwinn dealer, which helped me greatly. I only got a few workouts in with the bike before my left pedal just fell off. Yes, in the middle of my ride, it fell off the bike and was just hanging from my shoe. It was crazy. After a few long phone calls with Schwinn waiting on hold, I decided to call Macomb Bike for help. They knew exactly what the problem was and I was informed that this was an issue with this Schwinn model (and also some Pelotons, FYI), and that Schwinn was very backed up. We mutually decided that since I was under warranty, to try to work it out directly with Schwinn first, and that they would do anything they could in the meantime. This was a good choice. After all three parts came in (after six weeks), Macomb Bike made the repair for me same day when it would have taken an additional week for someone from Schwinn to come out. I have now been riding all week and have had no issues. I also purchased my outdoor bike (a Trek) several years ago from Macomb Bike when I had no idea what I wanted or which would be best for me. I received great customer service that helped with my purchase, and I have been very happy since then. I bring it in every year for a tune-up which is free if you purchased your bike there. read more

We brought it in mid-March which seemed to be the unofficial start to spring riding season. Everyone was bringing their bikes in for service or purchasing new bikes. Every person you speak with is knowledgeable, honest, and actually wants you to have a good experience on your bike, even if you didn't buy it there. They helped turn a $200 craigslist cheapie into a triathlon worthy bike under a tight turnaround AND incorporated used parts where they could to keep the cost to a minimum. I literally pass a half dozen bike stores to get to Macomb Bike in Warren. It's worth the trek over there. They have a great selection of bikes, but I go there primarily because I trust those guys with servicing my bike. They have knowledgable staff and are always putting on events (like fun bike rides). I've actually gone there just to get my bike washed and to pick up a few accessories. I've dealt with Jeff Radke Sr. and Jeff Jr., but I know that you can trust any of those guys with your bike. They will even let you try out one of the electric bikes, which are a lot of fun and let you ride a lot longer. I bought my bike here last summer and I like it. I spent about $500 dollars. I thought if I spent more I would ride more. That hasn't worked yet. I do love the bike, I just can't find any time to ride. This year I went to buy my daughter a bike. I went to Toys R Us and she just couldn't get the things to move. I read about Macomb's kids trade in plan and though it might be worth spending the extra $$$ if I could trade the bike in. I read a lot about the different options and took my daughter to the store. The salesperson I worked with knew a lot about teaching kids to ride. My daughter loves to ride her bike, and it moves a lot better than the bikes at the toy store. They also adjusted it just for her. She will probably only get one year out of this one, she is growing like a weed, so I am glad I went with Macomb. ****Eight years later and I want to update my review. My daughter didn't take to bike riding. My husband had never ridden a bike, so it was something we couldn't do as a family. Two years ago my husband decided to learn. With the help of the staff at Macomb he has become a pretty avid cyclist. They always remember our names when we come in, and are incredibly helpful. I bought a nicer bike for the first time and I had the most amazing experience coming here. I know there's a huge shortage on bikes but one of the employees dug deep into the inventory to find one that I loved. When I picked it up I didn't realize it was close to them closing, and I do try to avoid going to places when they're about to close (I work overnights so sometimes I don't wake up until 5pm). They didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience. The employees made sure my bike fit me properly, installed a new seat and cut it down for me, and put a bike rack onto my car and taught me how to put it on the back of my car. My fiance and I bought a Peloton and were in need of shoes. I have bunions and have always had issues finding shoes that fit, so I was a little apprehensive and a bit skeptical I'd be able to find comfortable shoes. Jim measured my feet and brought several pairs of shoes, and I was able to find a pair that are more comfortable than any shoe I've ever had! My fiance already had a pair of shoes, but after seeing Jim measure my feet and find such a comfortable shoe, he decided to get measured too. Jim brought out at least 6 shoes, and my fiance quickly realized his old shoes did not fit as well as he once thought. Jim also placed cleats on my shoes as well as showed my fiance a trick to get the petals off the Peloton to replace them. Honestly, you just dont get service like this anymore. Jim was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and was more than willing to answer any questions we had (and answers to questions we didn't even know we had). I truly wish more businesses had a Jim because while their prices are absolutely fair, we would be more then willing to pay extra for the service. I bought a new Trek bike from Macomb Bike and Fitness and by all measure, the transaction was incredibly positive. The sales staff is friendly and knowledgeable - not to mention accommodating. The salesman let me test ride the two bikes I was interested in for an hour! They have a great selection of higher end bikes (Trek, Giant etc.) and their pricing is competitive. Not once did I feel that I was being coerced into buying one bike over another. Their staff is very professional. They offer great support for their products as well. They provide a 30-day check up for the bike to make adjustments - brakes, seat height etc. and then lifetime tune-ups on the bike after that. Who else does that? You get the idea that the entire operation is a reflection of how the owners feel a bike shop SHOULD be run. Everything is about service. What a great experience. I'll be back. read more

I'm a newbie to the realm of biking. When I initially walked into the doors of Macomb Bike & Fitness I only had a vague idea of what I wanted/needed and no idea at all if what I thought I needed was even accurate. But I was pretty much approached immediately upon entering the store and welcomed warmly. Not in an obnoxious salesmen type way, but a friendly type way. I told 'em my situation, they genuinely listened to my needs, and started showing me bikes right away. Hell, they even let me take them out for test rides and told me to "take my time." I believe the actual quote was just to come back before they closed. Awesome. Although the shop is set towards more experienced bikers and their needs, it's not intimidating at all for newbies to walk into. The staff here is friendly and extremely willing to help you out. You know how some people have a hobby and they don't want other people to get into it because it's THEIR thing? The people at Macomb Bike & Fitness are basically the antithesis of that. They WANT you to become a biker, they WANT to help you out, and they seem to WANT to make sure you're a satisfied customer - whether you've been coming to their shop for years, are brand new to the idea of cycling, or whatever. They have a large selection of bikes available for different needs. From "comfort" bikes right up to mountain bikes, you can find it here. They sell accessories too to pimp your bike out from racks to install baskets, water bottles, lights, whatever. They take this stuff seriously and it shows. Having said that - these are not cheap bikes so don't come here if you're not looking for something serious. I don't think they're excessively priced either though... because these are nice bikes, but it's not for someone who would just be happy with a crappy Huffy from Meijer. They will measure you to ensure you get the proper fitting bike, adjust everything for you so it fits perfectly, and make sure your bike will last you a long time. They also provide free adjustments for the lifetime of the bike at their shop. Try getting that at Wal-Mart and/or Meijer. Another thing to note about the price is they will match any lower prices from local, authorized dealers of any of the bikes they sell in the store. So, if you find it cheaper somewhere else just buy it here and they'll match it for you - the lifetime service alone is worth it and they'll price match up to 30 days after your purchase. Once I actually bought my bike they gave me a schedule of a bunch of planned rides and free events they're hosting. They even offer a free bike maintenance class monthly for all the new blood like myself. This place is doing things right and doing it in a big way. I also hear they will give you free maps and locations to take your bike around and ride... but I haven't gotten that yet. The point of all this rambling is that Macomb Bike & Fitness is the place to go if you're in the market for a new bicycle. The staff will make sure you're taken care of and go above and beyond the call of duty. They'll answer all your stupid questions without making you feel stupid and they won't give you the bike-snob feel some elite cyclists can have. To top it all off they offer great services for the lifetime of your bike and you'd basically be a fool to go anywhere else in metro Detroit to buy a bicycle. And that's for real. read more

This bike shop was recommended to me two years ago by a friend that is a mountain biking enthusiast. I was just learning to mountain bike on actual trails (as opposed to riding a mountain bike on pavement/sidewalks), so I was a little concerned that I was getting in over my head. I shouldn't have been. The people at Macomb Bike and Fitness were very friendly and helpful, answering questions and patiently explaining things. I didn't know if I liked mountain biking at that time, so I bought a used mountain bike to see if I liked the sport. I went to Macomb to get the gloves, tools, tubes, chain oil, etc. for that first season and they continued to be happy to answer questions from someone that was interested in learning more about something that those guys love to do. It turned out that I really enjoyed riding mountain bikes, so I went back to Macomb the next spring and purchased a great new bike that made riding even more enjoyable. They fit the bike for me, repaired my deraileur when it got bent up by an errant stick on the trails, and still answer any questions that I might have. I just bought a bike this week at Macomb Bike and Fitness. I traveled a bit to buy it here for several reasons. My last Trek bike that I bought in 2003 was from here and they offer free lifetime tune ups on bikes bought here. That is an incredible incentive to buy here and every year I would bring my bike to be tuned up. This is a savings of $40-$60 every year. Other bike shops I was looking at offer a couple years free. Macomb offers free lifetime! That in itself is worth it! They are very helpful and knowledgeable about bikes. They want to make sure you pick the correct bike. They also have very competitive prices. Was referred to Macomb Bike & Fitness by a few co-workers whom are avid cyclists when I was looking for a better quality bike for my 5 year old daughter. The staff was extremely helpful! They took the time to help us select the bike that was most comfortable for her. They fitted a helmet, adjusted the seat, added training wheels, and installed LED lights on the spokes for her. They provided popcorn to her and her younger sister and were super nice to us. The price of the bike was more then you would pay at a Toys R Us or other children's shop, but the quality is soooo much better so I felt it was worth it.
