June 30, 2023 - Friday…read more Review #436 I was referred by My family physician Dr. Kavanaugh to have several Ex-Rays completed at this Henry Ford Medical Center on 4-19-2023. This Henry Ford Medical Center offers many health services, procedures and testing based on providers and appointments available. The environment was comforting and welcoming when I saw the receptionist to check in. After waiting 5 minutes in lobby I was then escorted to Imaging Department and known as Ex-Ray. I've attached Photos of the Imaging areas and how my appointment went about which was at 4pm. The technician Jeff was kind and explained the steps and time frame for the many ex-rays that my doctor requested. He was knowledgeable too when it came to positioning my hands and fingers correctly on the glass for the proper Ex-rays. No paper referral was needed since she sent the forms by email to this department at my convenience too. This facility is clean and offers masks after entering the automatic doors for germ protection of for those who have not been vaccinated for COVID. Request an appointment with any of the providers listed on the sign upon entering. A Patient can reserve a spot in line as well for Walk-In Lab Services. Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM Thursday and Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Closed Saturday and Sunday Address 14500 Hall Rd. Whenever you call to make an appt you're on hold waiting 45 mins sometimes, and no I'm not exaggerating! One time I went to see her because I was suffering from terrible constipation. I seriously woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back asleep. I thought I was dying and called the ER who said to check with your PCP. I saw her, gave her my symptoms and she essentially belittled me and made me seem like I was crazy and not sure what I was talking about. I was giving her MY symptoms! I know what's normal and what's not! What I was experiencing was NOT my normal. During our conversation, I asked to use the restroom and my stomach hurt really bad. She ignored me and kept talking. She then had me get up on the table so she could feel my stomach, again I asked if I could use the restroom and she coldly said, "Just get up on the table!". Now if your patient is experiencing debilitating constipation, and they ask to use the restroom suddenly, wouldn't you want them to go?!? At the end of the consultation, all I got was a copay and a referral to a receive an x-Ray. Nothing to tell me how to relieve my pain, medicine such as laxatives, nothing.

Unfortunately I went in on a Sunday afternoon and they don't do X rays there so I had them done on Monday. Once they received the results Samantha immediately called to let me know it was in fact fractured. She referred me to an orthopedic doctor who I was able to get in the next day. She also was insisting I not bear any weight on my ankle until I saw them. She was so kind to help me figure out where to get crutches delivered. She was so helpful and caring. This was the second time I have used this Urgent Care and have great experiences both times! Thanks for your help! I'm only giving 4 stars because they don't do X rays.

When I walked in, it was empty which was amazing. I filled out the form and provided cards and they called me in the room for weight and height. Then they put us in a room. They brought the activity cube with us to keep him calm. The PA came in very quickly. She even went to the car to get her own tool to check his ears because the one on the wall can not reach the floor. We were in and out extremely fast. I've been a patient at this practice for several years and had been taking the same long-term…read moreprescription without any issues. Originally, my prescription was for 1 1/2 pills, which meant I had to split a pill each day. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.
