This is our go-to bar in Miami. It is nothing like any of the clubs or fancy bars in the area. It's a divey, neighborhood bar complete with terrifying bathrooms and a thick fog of cigarette smoke. It was featured in several episodes of the original Miami Vice. This place is pure kitsch and totally worth a stop on the tour while in Miami Beach. If you want cheap drinks, good vibes, and are ok with inhaling cigarette smoke because you can still smoke inside here - the Deuce is for you. They've got a jukebox with an eclectic array of tunes as well as a super fun wrap around bar surrounded by neon lights. It's got major laid back energy and bartenders are quick, friendly, and attentive. If you're in the area, I'd totally suggest a drink or two here. Absolutely perfect. I yearn for a place like this near me, I live so far away. I dream of it. There was an elderly man playing air guitar to the blaring psychedelic rock pinging around the mirror-adorned walls. It brought me great joy. I can swear I smelt Sam and Dean in the seat before me (iykyk). It's cash only, and pay as you go. They use an antique cash register and people were smoking inside. I've been a patron at the Deuce since I moved to Miami 5 years ago. I'm also a local bartender, you'll find many of us there... Although I do love the Fernet machine, I love the staff even more! Well, I'm not sure where to start with Club Deuce Miami Beach. 2026 will be 100 years since opening! I've been coming for about 35 years myself. Through the 80's and 90's it was an absolute favorite for many of us who were out and about on South Beach. Dancing, roller blading, partying. Just enjoying everything great about South Beach at the time. The bar stools are arranged such, so everyone is kind of facing others. So, it's always been great for socializing. A jukebox, pool table, bathrooms covered top to bottom with stickers and graffiti you'll never forget. I still drop by to share memories with longtime friends. Which is easy to do. Since the place hasn't changed decor one bit over the decades. This was how the previous owner, Mac, wanted it. And his wishes, as well as ours, have always been honored. One star - Congratulations, Butch, you've officially made Club Deuce the worst part of our honeymoon. We had an amazing first visit earlier in the week -- great bartender, great vibe. So we came back. Huge mistake. Enter Butch, the walking definition of a power trip in a bartender apron. Even the bouncer rolled his eyes and said, "Yeah, that's just how he is." Yikes. It's a cash-only bar. No problem -- until your ATM doesn't work and I'm $3 short. I left $11 on the bar, told Butch I was stepping across the street for more cash while my wife stayed, and I hadn't even taken a sip of the drinks. His response? A sarcastic "then don't touch the f***ing beers." As he aggressively grabbed the beers and pulled them back across the bar. Because clearly, I was trying to rob the place of $3. lol. We came back (like honest humans do), put a $20 bill down to cover the tab and tip, and this guy couldn't even fake decency. Gave us short change, then acted like WE were the problem. When asked about it -- politely -- he doubled down, got aggressive, and called me the C-word and never once did I say anything other than try to clear up whatever misunderstanding there was. All this because... we paid our tab?? Here's a fun twist: security actually apologized for Butch's behavior and TOLD US to leave a review. When your own staff are recommending customers go public, that's not "a bad night" -- that's a pattern. Owners: if this is the kind of energy you're okay with representing your business, best of luck. Butch isn't protecting your bar from non-payers -- he's insulting and disrespecting the ones who come back to do the right thing. Fire him before he takes the whole ship down with him. But hey, at least now we have a story to tell -- "Remember that time we tried to pay our bar tab and got called a slur?" Real classy. read more

Knew of this place as being a big Anthony Bourdain fan, who used to frequent this bar. Actually noticed it walking to the nearby Walgreens. Went straight to the bar after and it was just like I expected. Typical old school dive bar, that is cash only (I knew that already). Ordered a shot of Jameson and Corona, which is simple as it gets. So I searched for South Beach Dive Bars and Macs popped up. A friend and I took a Lyft from our Miami Beach hotel around 11:00 PM on a Friday night. Bouncer at the door reminded us that it was cash only, no problem. My biggest complaint was you are allowed to smoke in here. This is the quintessential dive bar that has been open since the 1920s. Our Miller Lite bottles were $6.00. Bartenders and customers were super friendly. No food sold here but plenty nearby. If you like vintage dive bars, you will stop here. Pool table is waiting for you. Just a great vibe and even better jukebox. I didn't reak of smoke either. read more

Maybe they're cash only because it's the kind of spot that a Celeb chef (or mobster or politician) can sit under the neon and enjoy a cocktail or brew... I've been here more than a few times whether for a pub crawl, the beginning or rite end of a night and once even during the day after a 5K race. This spot has been on the beach for a minute, and is an institution. Most recently, a friend and I ended up at the tail end of a long night of fun to enjoy the sights and a couple of buds. (Bud Light is what $10 will get you in 2022). They also sell branded jackets which as a connoisseur of drunken history you should get as a hedge against gentrification to this classic. Solid dive bar. As to be expected with most true dive bars, it's cash only. We had no issue getting change on our tab (which someone was an issue mentioned in another review). Very dark bar, and smoking is allowed (always a surprise to us from MN). The bartender was especially informative and friendly... however... they did scoop ice into a glass with their hand, which was not a good look even for a dive bar. Not sure if they serve food. Side note, there is a review claiming racial profiling, with a comment that the bartender asked card or cash app... I'm thinking this review may be for another spot considering it is a cash only bar. read more

This is seriously my type of bar. We were wandering the streets of Miami just taking in the scenery when we came across this cute dive bar. Walked in and immediately knew I was home. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender a bit. He seems like a cool guy. 2 of the 3 days we stopped in he was working. Every day till 7pm they have happy hour with 2-4-1 specials. Cash only, that is the only drawback. They have a few TVs perfect for watching some football. We caught part of a college football game on Saturday and part of the Miami Dolphins game on Sunday. The crowd has a cool laid back vibe. You wouldn't think this kind of place was blocks from the beach on the flashy street of South Beach. Highly recommend if you like a tucked away hole in the walk with great staff and drink specials. read more

I've never seen someone not want to make money more in my life. If you have an anger problem you probably shouldn't work in the industry.. it's not that serious. The term "dive bar" is overused. Some use it derisively to indicate lack of quality. Some use it to show they are hipsters but come off looking like arrogant tossers. I will suggest this is a dive bar in the original, timeworn, love-filled fashion that the phrase is meant to convey. It is a survivor. A small, one-off business that has survived property values surging, wars, pandemics, natural disasters, and boom and bust cycles of our beautiful capitalist system. But it has persevered. It smells like smoke. Because people smoke. Don't like it? Stay out. It has a pool table. Annoyed by getting accidentally poked by a pool cue? TS. Pay better attention. Want a slew of fancy drinks? They'll probably make them for you, but don't be an ass. Get beer or mixed drinks. Be amazed at the reasonable prices. And here's the trick...tip as though you are paying the usurious rates of the nearby hotel bars. These damn bartenders work for a living. Tip, tip, tip. And know that this place will linger in the back of your mind for years to come. Hell you might reference it in your will. Thousands have come here and called it their own. If you know, you know. Keep this place open. Keep it in your thoughts. And keep it open. The world will be a significantly diminished place if it goes away, and we don't have the luxury in the modern world of selling the family silver. "The Deuce," as locals call it, is the oldest bar in Miami Beach (and Miami-Dade County for that matter). I lived in Miami Beach for 10 years and the Deuce is always at the top of my list for beer break and other libations to escape the summer heat, especially during their long happy hour. It's dark and the A/C is on full blast. During happy hour, all drinks are 2 for 1. You pay and you get a chip for your second round. Cash it in then or pocket it for later. You're not going to find a Modelo Especial anywhere on the beach for $7, much less a pair of them. Locals come here for a reason. One of the absolutely best things about Mac's Club Deuce is the staff. In the 20+ years I've been going there as a local and a tourist, they've always employed great bartenders who are prompt, friendly and professional. I want to give a special shout out to Jason, who served us on multiple days during our August 2024 trip. Super friendly guy and very inviting. Thanks, Jason! I could get my signature drink of Tito's and soda for almost North Carolina prices! They are cash only, so be prepared for that if you go (or they do have an ATM. The bar was nothing fancy, but had a fun vibe with lots of neon lights, modern jukebox, and a pool table. You can even smoke inside. They were oddly showing Cast Away and South Park on the TVs, but whatever works. The bartender wasn't particularly friendly, but attentive. Coming from Milwaukee I am completely spoiled with our dive bars and the reasonable pricing. South Beach was complete sticker shock until I found Mac's Club Deuce. Happy hour runs 11am to 7pm with a BOGO. You can get a cocktail for $5 with tip which is almost Milwaukee pricing. SCORE! Just like any good dive bar there is a cast of characters hanging out which we met. I giggled as one of the regulars kept hitting on my hubby even though he introduced me as his wife. We made it here a couple of times and just loved the interaction with everyone. Note that there is smoking allowed so have your sinuses prepared for it. read more

I have been here countless times but have not visited for years. I love this dive bar. I loved it even more because Anthony Bourdain loves it and stopped here every time he was in Miami. It was really sad sitting there thinking about his loss. I had a couple of beers and people watched in his memory. Bring cash because they don't take credit cards. There is an ATM inside if you forget. If you are looking for a no frills kinda place, this is it. The place looks like dirt has been caked on for decades. They always have a bouncer at the door to check IDs and to keep the nonsense out. The bouncers have always been cool and friendly. The bartenders are cool but in a sense that they are there to serve booze and not mess around. They serve beer in bottles and cans, as well as liquor. The drinks are reasonably priced for the Beach. There is one pool table but it is really difficult to play because it is really small inside. The jukebox is a TouchTunes and Not too many times has there not been music playing. The bathrooms are fun too. Not their fault. People are gross and don't clean up after themselves and there were times there was no toilet paper or paper towels.
