swizzle rum bar & drinkery is a beautiful speakeasy hidden inside the stiles hotel on collins ave. you walk down the street into an unassuming hotel, go straight and there are signs to go downstairs. there's an open hall room in the front with a nice sized patio to the left, with a full bar area and seats up to 30 guests. from the hall room, just after the patio is the entrance to the smaller, gorgeous swizzle rum bar & drinkery with 54 seats. the space is elegant and sophisticated, and truly feels like you stepped into the past (in the best way). this speakeasy was created by the top miami bartenders, so you know it's top of the line. they're open from 7pm-3am every day. they're voted best cocktail bar in florida of 2025 and best cocktail bar in miami of 2024. you can have private events here, or grab some drinks with friends. they have over 150 types of rum, and many one of a kind cocktails. it wasn't too busy on a thursday evening, although there was an event in the back. i tried their mamey swizzle, as a huge fan of ginger, and it was absolutely delicious! my friends, who recommended swizzle, loved their drinks too. everything here is a 10/10, you can't go wrong if you step into this portal. mamey swizzle 10/10 swizzle rum bar & drinkery cannot be missed if you love craft cocktails, gorgeous speakeasies, and a wonderful vibe. they do add automatic gratuity for any party, and i also tipped on top of it, it's THAT good! ambiance: 5/5 food: n/a drinks: 4.8/5 service: 5/5 swizzle rum bar & drinkery: 5/5 read more

I finally found a bar in South Beach with a nice chill vibe. It was busy when we arrived but fortunate to find a table to sit down and sip on some drinks. The staff here was also very welcoming and friendly. I tried their Mamey Swizzle and instantly fell in love. It came with rum, Mezcal, mamey-ginger puree and Jamaican bitters. We had mojitos during our dinner and some more mojitos at another bar that I didn't have that great of a vibe. So it's fair to say we had enough alcohol to call it a night, but this Mamey swizzle was so delicious I had to order another one. We'll be in Miami later this month and you can bet your ass that I'll be returning for some more of their Mamey swizzle. read more

We love a good speakeasy vibe, and finding Swizzle was tough if you aren't familiar with the area. Tucked away in the Stiles Hotel is the small intimate bar, Swizzle. We were seated in the main bar area and both ordered a beverage. I got the Amazonia, a gin based drink with agave lavender and lemon juice with a macha rim. Caleb got the El Presidente, which is a rum based drink with orange liqueur, vermouth, and pomegranate. The drinks were really good, and as expected in a place like this, a bit on the expensive side, but at Swizzle you have a mixologist preparing your cocktails, which always heightens the quality! It was nice to find an intimate place in Miami Beach to kick back enjoy a cocktail and just have some nice conversation, and some people watching with each other. The first drink I tried, the Mamey Swizzle, was not for me. Despite it being highly recommended on here, I was put off by the texture of the ginger puree. Our bartender came to the rescue. I asked him to pick a rum drink I might like, and he came through with the Sip, Bite, Sip, an interactive drink and where the clear cocktail combines with goat cheese cream to give the sensation of a piña colada in your mouth. They identify as a speakeasy. I think I will allow it in this case since they are somewhat hidden, though there are signs as far as outside that indicate where they are located. Coming from DC where there are 30+ speakeasies that are just in plain sight, I have come to take the term very seriously. Once you find your way there, you find yourself in a dimly lit, stunning bar with many tasty cocktail and a few food options. We were initially given the option to sit at one of the two remaining tables that were not reserved, but this couple was kind enough to allow us to sit together at the bar. As I would come to expect, they can literally make anything, but they have a lot of interesting options with cool ingredients on the provided menu. Whiskey and rum were my choices for the evening, but there is a lot more to explore. My girlfriend has some trouble finding one that she liked, but only because she was trying to step out of her comfort zone and had recently had quite a few sweet drinks. But they eventually got it, haha. This was my second Miami speakeasy experience, and I would happily recommend it to others. I'm looking forward to returning myself. read more

The lowlights, house music, and welcoming customer service invite you in, but the drinks are why you stay. It was my friends and I first time ever trying it, as we happened to stumble across it, and might I say I'm so glad we did. If you ever have a chance to get swizzled, do it. Follow the signs and behind a curtain you'll find this dark and mysterious place. Dimly lit by table side lights it's a 1920s prohibition feel. We were quickly seated and given a 5 page cocktail menu to peruse! While hard to decide, our bartender helped guide us through the menu according to our tastes. We settled on three drinks: Chocolate 50/50 Manhattan Swizzle, Classic Daiquiri and the Rhum Swizzle. All did not disappoint! (Esp that chocolate one!) We had a great time at Swizzle! The vibe is cool and the service is personalized. Our server, Mira, couldn't have been nicer. She told use about the history of the speakeasy, gave us a look around the place, and introduced us to the bartenders. My husband and I both ordered hurricanes. Rum Swizzle is a speakeasy hidden away in South Beach that is open late daily. They do not take reservations so we put our names down and waited about 15 minutes for a party of two. If you don't want to wait long there's a small bar just outside as well as Delirio Tiki Bar just next door (a sister bar). We ordered the newburgh sour ($16), the el diablo ($16), and the nastyface grog ($16). The newburgh sour was mostly a classic sour cocktail but not as sour. The el diablo was very tequila-forward and was easy to drink. The nastyface grog was very tart and strong. Note that they automatically add a 20% service charge to your check which seems to be a very common occurrence for restaurants and bars in the area. read more

Definitely get the Nastyface Grog. I also tried my other friend's drink, the Madame Hong. If you like fruity drinks, this drink is for you. It was on the edge of too sweet for me, though. Swizzle Rum Bar is not my definition of a speakeasy... other than the difficulty it was to find it. The drinks ranged from great to mildly unpleasant to very average. And as much as I wanted to love it, I came out with very mixed feelings. At 9:30 on a Saturday, my friend and I were seated outside the bar and started drinking before we were moved to the bar. The outside seating area is mellow with warm lighting and chill vibes. Our first round included the Sip Bite Sip (Swizzle's Piña Colada) and the Tokyo Drift. The Sip Bite and Sip was amazing with the clean and fruity taste of the rum and umami saltiness of the goat cheese working in perfect harmony. The Tokyo Drift was the opposite of pleasant. Every time my friend took a sip, she gagged. I had to take a few sips to see if I liked it, and it was definitely a science experiment gone wrong. The wasabi lychee bubbles were just foul. We had one of the waitresses switch the drink out for El Pescador Cobbler. The drink was much easier to drink but was also very average. We also got two more cocktails that were also pretty average. But take my word with a grain of salt for the last two cocktails because my friend is a lightweight and by the time I got to cocktail four after drinking my friend's cocktails, I wasn't in a position to judge how they tasted. Service wise, everyone was friendly and attentive. Ambiance was pretty good in the outdoor area outside the bar and in the bar but the bar was pretty loud (not what I would expect from a speakeasy). If you're coming with friends, I don't recommend bringing someone who doesn't like to drink and has the ears of an infant baby (big mistake). Maybe we just picked the wrong drinks or all the interesting drinks are too much of a hit and mix. I love me a cool interesting mix, but these mixes just weren't for me. read more
