I have been going to this place for a few years now. This is Macy's but items are in a discounted price, lots of stuff to find for men, ladies, teens, kids. There are electronics, clothing, shoes, bags, jewelries, and a lot more. In terms of clothing, you just have to find an available size as sometimes they run out of it due to marked down prices. Holiday is just around the corner so I have decided to buy some of the gift items here for my family. All items that they sell are organized and arrange neatly. I have found so many items and clothings here that cost way lesser as compared to the exact same item and brand sold on other stores. I highly recommend this place when buying clothings and gifts, great thing is it will not break the bank. A very good place when you are in a budget. read more

This Macy's Backstage location resembles a smaller Marshall's/TJ Maxx with much more organization of the items. The seasonal holiday items were out for sale and they had fluffy blankets on sale for under ($20). There are two floors with multiple departments: Women's, Plus Sizes, Kids, Shoes, Intimates, and Home Decor. The associates provided good customer service and was able to locate a clothing tag that was misplaced. Every aisle in the store was neat and I found the items I needed quickly. This was the most organized department outlet store I have shopped at. read more

I'm jealous. I came to this location for I had ordered a few items online but the size small was more like for kids. I explained the situation to Kiara. She says this shouldn't be a problem. I had 5 items and had taken the tags off but still had them and 1 didn't have a tag. I showed Kiara the return label sent to me from Macys online return dept. Gemma (Mgr) overheard the conversation and gladly said they'll accept the return without any problem. In the future do try the items on with the tags still on. We all have small talk and Gemma giving praises to Kiara which I agreed with 100% Kiara attitude so was pleasant for we all know some people have attitude when you want to make a return. Kiara was such a delight. Both Kiara and Gemma (Mgr) made this process so easy and it only took a few minutes. I got the credit on a Macy's card and on spending more money for they had more items on sales. Can't walk away from great deals. I told Kiara to put them in my Victoria's Secret shopping bag from shopping a few minutes before so hubby doesn't think I went on another shopping spree. We all laughed. I called Macys customer service a few days before and was told those return are okay but I had to return them separately for they all went to different warehouses. Omg that a headache for I didn't want to make a mistake by putting the wrong item with the wrong return label. I asked if I could put it all in 1 package. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the service and selections at this store. I was able to pickup my Macy's online order here, everything was easy and quick. The salesperson behind the counter was helpful and she took some time to chat with me, made me feel like I was appreciated. Smaller store is easy for me to navigate quickly and less stressful, I can also make more frequent visits to see what's new. This location is more organized than T.J. Maxx which is located nearby. Two requests for this store would be that they carry a petites department and more selections for petite sized clothing. I would also love a Starbucks or an artsy type of cafe to be located in the back area of the store where the designated Macy's Backstage parking lot is. There no coffee shops located at this shopping center and it would be such a great match with the more relaxed, chill shopping vibe at this Macy's Backstage. Would be nice to grab a coffee or tea after finishing shopping. Cosmetics and personal care are final sales, not returnable. read more

Don't send your online orders here. The cashiers are really slow and they do not have have a separate line for online orders. Well technically they do but they do not have anyone manning it. When I came to pick up my order, I stood at the pick up line and waited. The cashier took care of the person she was helping them disappeared. I thought maybe change of shift...someone is coming. 5 minutes later, nothing. When I finally asked the cashier who saw me waiting all that time tells me use the regular line which was long. I wouldn't of mind if they told me when I first got here to get on the regular line but to tell Me after you saw me standing there all that time. Totally unacceptable. When I finally get to the cashier, I show her my QRC code and she grabs my phone which has my drivers lic and credit card in it. I was like, umm you can't take my phone. She drops my phone and walks away and yells at me to meet her wherewwww the pick up register was. I told her my phone have my DL and CCs, I can't give it to you to walk off to IDK where. She then says whatever you say. Got my package and tells me to sign. I asked is the receipt inside and walks away and just tells me you signed! So please do not send you packages here for pick up. 30 minutes wasted. Will not be back ever! read more

This is one of my go to stores. If you are thinking it's a typical MAcys, you are so wrong. It's more like a TJ Maxx but neater. There is always something to find. They haVe the newest trends or classics. They have shoess, kids, men and home as well as women's and juniors. The employees are always kind and helpful and you will always find something that you love. They also nave a high end showcase with dIffernt finds all the time. This week, when I went in, they had a plethora of designer scarves and VAlentino sneakers. If you shop wIth your child, be sure to ask for a token for the giant gumball machine when you check out. Tip: they don't take coupons but honestly. The prices are really good anyway. read more

Everybody loves a good Deal! After working a late shift I was famished and in need of Shake Shack. I wanted to get some Cardio after consuming carbohydrates so I headed next door to Macy's BackStage. I felt like I had died and went to HEAVEN. So many great buys!! A Macy's Outlet very similar to Nordstrom Rack. The prices here a GREAT!!!!! I bought a winter coat for my daughter for $20 and a designer hat for me for $10. The selection here is plentiful. Lots of gowns, social dresses, jeans, shoes, you name it!!!! No crowds and I love the store layout! The shoe department was clean and easy to maneuver through. When I went to pay for my purchase, I was informed that I can use my Plenti Rewards Card to earn points each purchase. The same card can be used for Gas and at Rite Aid and other locations. read more

Finally get the chance to stop by. The motive is to check if I could pay my Macy's bill here and glad they did accept my payment. It save me a trip going to Macy's Douglaston. I made a quick browse after paying but did not purchase anything due to time constraint . I was told that they do accept Macy's charge card and warned that I can't use Macy's coupons in here. Pretty understandable ....the way I see it, their merchandise prices are way half off from its original price, it is basically a discounted store. It's kinda like TJ Max or Nordstrom Rack "fashion style in less price" sense store. Need probably to start looking on the clearance racks and tables to get the best deal. A small store with two floors of great selections of almost everything, clothing, shoes, jewelry, bags , household items, accessories even snacking items. Staff are welcoming. Still in the process of putting up holiday decorations to have that holiday vibes and spirit in the entire store. I definitely coming back to explore . Holiday is just around the corner and this is just the perfect place. If you are a fashionista bargain hunter, this is your store. Did I mention that it is in a shopping center? I am not going to lie I miss my loehmanns but this place has the same concept. It is a very nice store with a lot of merchandise at discounted rates. You CAN NOT USE MACYS COUPONS! However, their prices are pretty reasonable which is good. The staff was helpful but the line took too long in the checkout area. I brought a shirt for my mother for Christmas and I brought a pajama set for $20. As well, I tried to purchase a new bra but the intimate apparel section was so messy I couldn't find my size in the section that said my size. I would of purchased more stuff if the intimate apparel section was more organized. This store is a hit or miss because they are always receiving new merchandise weekly or so. So if yoy don't find something one day, go back and maybe you will find something another time! Overall I enjoyed my experience at Macy's Backstage. read more

If you have a store gift card do NOT take it to Macy's Backstage in Allen. In the cashier's words, "We don't accept gift cards because we already discount the merchandise enough." That is enough for me to never shop Macy's again. To have a loved one buy a gift card in good faith only to find out Macy's will not honor that trust when you try to spend because they don't make any money on it is unforgivable. 3.5 STARS I found out about this place while chatting with a co-worker the other day. She described this as similar to a TJ Maxx which I have been in briefly, like real briefly, in the past.. I was in need of a few specific things so I decided to check it out! It's nothing to write home about really. I did find what I was looking for amazingly and with that, I would be willing to check the place out again in the future. There was not one person on the floor and there were 2 checkout cashiers. I think one may have been new & the cashier that was supposed to be helping me was very preoccupied with helping the other cashier instead of helping me. I read that they honor the Plenti Cards in another review but I didn't see anything posted regarding that so I didn't even bother to ask. Hopefully next time I'll have a better experience. I am a Macys fashionista, lol I love their stores and sales. With the right sale days and coupons you can get some great deals on clothes, shoes and household items. I saw a fellow yelper check into this store and I said I had to check it out. It's a small store with a selection of shoes, handbags, clothes, coats, make-up, gift items and perfume. The staff seemed cool and I was able to browse in peace without the crowds of regular Macys. Since I didn't buy anything I didn't get to find out if we could use our Macys coupons here. I will find out the next time I visit because I'll definitely return. read more

To the untrained consumer Macys backstage would seem like a good deal., however the trained consumer will quickly realize there's no deal here at all. If you think about it if macys really gave you a good discount in the backstage area it would hurt there retail sales in the main department. There basically competing with themselves. Essentially they have to keep the prices compatible with the regular retail . Macys brings there poor selling items in the backstage area. They price play by pretending there giving you a discount. .The prices are really not that great and the selection is lack luster. I have seen damaged items that they will not reduce the price no matter what. Many items are cheap no name brands. At the end of the day macys backstage is bull. read more

I decided very next day 9/16/2019 to drive all the way to Macy's backstage, shop something, hoping they will honor that coupon for me. But they didn't, they said the system will not accept it , as if the system is the master of the people not vice versa, sorry But I worked as a cashier . Any way, Iam here not encouraging the cashiers to do so for all cases, for example if the coupon is expired 10 , 30 days or more, this cannot be used. Despite the fact that the heat was on hell in this Macy's discount store, I actually give my stamp of approval. My cousin recommended this store so I figured I'd try it out. I usually can find a good deal when I walk into a regular Macy's store. So to locate a store of all sales was like Macy's heaven. I was able to find a nice pair of work shoes for less than $15.00. Of course you can use your Macy's card or open a new one. I declined that offer. Once I started swiping I can't stop. The store was clean and had a little bit of everything in only two floors. I use to go often there but no more. I bought on February 10th, 2021 a jacket and two hours later trying to make a return with an email receipt, as I always did it before, the cashier, (an aggressive person), told me, after I denied her to touch my cell phone and explained to her I could show the code for return holding it in my hands, that I would need to print the receipt to be able to have the refund next time. And made clear that this was a huge favor done to me this time. This is an abuse! I tried to contact the floor manager by phone, someone took my information, nobody call me back. I wrote in the customer service web page, nobody responds either. These are times everybody is trying to buy online, me included, with excellent returns policies and without bad manners from employees that don't help the store to survive when they treat the customers so bad. read more

This place isn't very different from Burlington or TJ Max, which are both in the area. It is definitely organized better than Burlington, and their beauty section is far better than that of both of the other stores! At one time, they had products from NYX and the Balm and a ton of great skincare supplies. Their clothing section is pretty swell if you have time to sift through stuff. I've gotten some cute shoes from here. If you're into designer bags, this is a great place for you! Not into the designers they carry, but I know plenty of people come here exclusively for this. read more

Personally, I hate it. When I go to Macy's I don't want nor need another discounted, messy, junky shopping experience. The reason I go to Macy's is for the NOT experience of that. Plenty of other discounted stores for this and I hate having to search through clothing that's been there for months! I don't think the deals are even that good. Example: a few days ago, I went into the backstage to looks for a mattress pad and found what I wanted, on their price for 29.99, cheapest one. Then I went to their regular bedding department and found a better quality one for 19.99! Aside from prices though, this is NOT the experience I want, need or anticipate by going to Macy's. I was very disappointed the first time I saw it. Messy, disorganized and not a relaxing experience. I expect more from Macy's. read more

I just discovered this location and I'm so excited about it. The store itself is in a great location, lots of parking and food choices for after shopping eating. The store is very well laid out, clean and organized. Everyone that I asked a question knew the answer and was able to help me. There are so many deals! They also sell designers such as Tory Burch which is not carried by the regular Macy's stores. I find that baby clothes were very cheap and so were the home items. They had a lot of cute kitchen items for a great price. In addition, the women's section is also great. I got really cute shorts for $12 and a nice beach dress for $20. The only downside is their return policy, instead of the usual 6 months that you get at any macys, here you only get 30 days with the receipt. At macys, I've become used to just using return labels and leaving things in my car until I have time to go back and return it. However, I guess since things are so cheap they have to stop the buck somewhere. They also accept your plenti card for those who are enrolled. Go now! Happy shopping :) read more

Maybe it was just bad timing when I came here but this place was a mess when I came in. Granted it's the holiday season, but still. This place is brand new. It just opened up and there was stuff all over the floor, the clothing racks were messy and shelves were disorganized. I didn't interact much with the staff so I can't say anything about them. Basically this is like a not as nice Nordstrom Rack. It's actually closer to TJ Maxx or Marshalls. If anything I would say come here when it first opens. Better quality clothes than tj and the home department even though small has a good amount of variety to choose from. I believe this place used to be a Loehmann's, and as such, I had never been inside it. I wasn't even aware that it opened as a Macy's Backstage or even what that meant. I'm from the area but there was little if any publicity as I saw nothing about it opening. I stopped in a few weeks ago and went to the lower level which has men's and housewares departments. It takes a few seconds to walk around those areas as there's not much there. Prices for what they do have are definitely lower than what you find at regular Macy's. Also when I went there was a huge security guard at the entrance who looked like a club bouncer. I've never seen security guards at entrances to regular Macy's but they have one at this tiny location. It doesn't add to the shopping experience to have a sullen 350 pound guy at the door looking like he's ready to pounce on someone. read more

Its Macys. Period. Where the stuff they can't sell goes to die. Its not an outlet. There are no big bargains unless you find something in clearance but that's not an outlet price - its the pawed over, unsold, rejects you'd find on any clearance rack in any store. The rest of the 95% of the store are regular prices. They had Calvin Klein dresses "on sale" for $40 - that's the REGULAR price they are selling for at K&G in Garden City and at most Marshall's stores. I've even found unmarked down pocketbooks selling at HIGHER prices in the "outlet" then they were selling for in Macy's REGULAR store where I found the identical bag marked down in the regular store's clearance. I did an internet search for the brand and the bag and found it online - all over - the same price or cheaper. How is that an "outlet" store? On top of that - none of the regular 20% off coupons or whatever sale coupons are out are applied at the BACKSTREET store which is EXCLUDED from all the coupons- so you actually wind up paying MORE money. People shop there remembering the old Loehmans and think it is the same kind of store but this is nothing like that and it is NOT an outlet store. Its just an outpost of a regular Macy's store with less selection, no coupons and returns are ONLY taken back to the Backstreet store so you either have to make sure you really want the item or live close enough that it isn't going to be a great inconvenience to take it back. read more

Backstage Brooklyn location....Not at all what I expected. I expected to see, was the same name brands that I normally see in Macys, such as INC, Michael Kors, etc. marked down. However all I saw was the same clothing and brands that I normally see in TJ Maxx or Marshalls, literally. Not at all impressed and I came all the way from Staten Island, waste of $5.50 toll.
