First off, the overall selection for men isn't ideal and some of the brands aren't anything to go specifically to Macys for. The prices are definitely too high which is why they always have "sales". The people who work here are great but they don't get paid as much as some other stores (Dillard's pays $21 an hour compared to Macy's $15) read more

We just experienced some severe racism at the Macy's men's cologne counter. There was an older red headed women that was incredibly rude to my African American husband. She treated him as if he couldn't afford the cologne and he didn't belong in the store. We asked to speak to the manager, who came down and instantly told my husband to calm down, wrong move. We will be taking our concern to corporate. This world is too messed up to be treating people this way. Macy's will not get our money!!! read more

Went into Macys's tonight to look for a blouse, lots of Tommy Hilfiger, which is... OK well, what about the rest of the pretty things? Was looking for a pretty blouse for a shower and no luck. Lots of cotton round neck, and cotton V-neck shirts, not a lot of selection. Items look like out of season. Not a lot of selection. Nice clean store though. I would probably go to another retail store if you want something unique. read more

Plenty of parking, extended holiday hours and helpful people! I visited New Year's Day evening and got to park right up front. I brought in my returns and everything went smoothly. I did have take my make-up specifically to the make-up counter, but everything moved quickly. While I was there, I also did some shopping. Their athletic department is pretty small and was very picked over due to the holidays. But I somehow managed to find one pair of leggings. And simply trying things on was helpful. I found the same kind of prices at this location as I've come to expect from any Macy's. I definitely try to look at the sales and watch out for coupons. read more

Not as great of an experience as shopping online, but as good as it gets when considering that its a physical store. The fitting rooms are a bit dingy, but tolerable. The staff are helpful and the clearance/sale section is always fun to browse. Macy's at this location now carries Vera Bradley products too! Overall, shopping here is a pleasant experience. read more

I actually used to like Macy's. I like their deals when they had them I like shopping there. The quality was good but then I open an account and I hadn't used it and when I needed a statement they wouldn't give me one. They just gave me a letter, so I called them up because I needed an actual statement that said I didn't owe them any money For my bank because I was buying a house and they needed statements from all of my accounts so I called them up and ask them to print me out a statement and I said oh well you don't know wish any money and I said what can you send me a statement they said why will just give you a letter, so you don't miss any money and no matter what I said they wouldn't make a statement such a simple push of a button so I closed my account. They aren't very cooperative on a simple matter, so what are they like? If you have a problem with an item that you purchase, I'd hate to find out, if they can't accommodate you with something as simple to take care of by the push of a button, then how are they going to be when you have an issue with a defective item no way will I take the chance they just aren't worth it, so my recommendation is to find another merchant that is more customer friendly that is willing to be more accommodating with the simple things because you know if they're customer friendly and accommodating with the simple things, then they tend to be more willing to listen when it comes to difficulties, a customer may encounter when a product is unacceptable and therefore be able to appreciate where Macy's doesn't listen, so how can they appreciate a customers experience with difficulties in an item or product? Macy's is huge and it's good to have the same merchandise in every location, although there have been quite a few changes as Federated Department Stores assimilated one chain after another. They have practically everything that isn't Target or Walmart-related since May Department Stores fell. This location is more reassuring than amazing, and I'm glad to have an alternative to Elder-Beerman/The Bon Ton/Carsons. read more

I came in yesterday and I was helped by a lovely lady named Susan working in the handbags department. Not only was she a pleasure to myself, but I noticed that she was very helpful and super friendly to every customer. She asked if they needed help, where to find her, was quick and efficient and made sure to thoroughly clean the register area after each transaction. She helped me choose a handbag between two Dooney and Bourne bags I was deciding on. Amazing amazing. Thank you Susan for you help, your humor and your amazing service. Give her a raise !! I attempted to return a bra I had gotten that was the wrong size online. Macy's.com says you can take it to a store with the tags and packing slip for a refund. The woman working in customer service on 1/2/20 wouldn't let me and got rude the instant I said that their website allowed returns. She immediately went to the "im a manager but you can speak with my boss if that's what you really want" line. Don't recommend. read more

In most regards, this is just like any other Macy's store. Specifically, this review is about the Fine Jewelry department. My dad bought me a ring for my birthday. But not knowing what size I wore and wanting it to be a surprise, he guessed and decided to buy the extended service plan so I could get it resized at no cost to me as the extended service plan included unlimited resizing (You can read about that here - http://www.macys.com/popup/r72x13_fine-jewelry-popup.jsp) My dad bought the ring in Columbus, but I took it to the Macy's closer to me here in Dayton to get the correct size. I took the extended service plan form with me but they told me that I still had to pay. That sizing wasn't included in the plan. When I explained that was specifically why my dad bought the plan she went and got a manager who told me the same thing. I'd have to pay. She gave me a pamphlet about the extended service plan so I would know what it covered in the future. I agreed because I really liked the ring and wanted to be able to wear it. So as I was waiting for her to fill out the paperwork I started reading the pamphlet. Fourth point down - Yup, free sizing. I pointed it out to her and she looked shocked. She went back and got the manager who was also surprised. Apparently they had been charging people for it all this time. I added an extra star because they did make it right for me. They didn't charge me and rushed the processing so I could get my ring back sooner. But I wonder how many people were charged when they didn't have to be. DONT GO FOR SUITS OR MEN"S FORMAL WARE Very disappointing experience over 3 visits to purchase wedding suits. First visit one of us was told we should lose weight to fit (after just losing 50 lbs, and is not big by any means). Second Visit we were told "today isn't a good day for measuring for alterations" but were assisted after insisting, but chose not to get the alterations done because the guy doing the "measuring" obviously didn't care about getting it right or our business. When we checked out we were told there were no garment bags available but to bring our receipt next week and they would give us them. Third Visit we were met with disgust from an unfriendly associate in the suit department who questioned us about who told us we could come back, examined our receipt in detail, took her time to clean a fitting room while getting one (we had asked for two) and then was upset again to have to go back to get the second we had asked for (again stopping to clean up the fitting room). She was quite rude, distrusting, especially considering we had a receipt and had dropped well over $500 at the store. WE reported this to management and the only response was "thanks for letting us know. sorry about your experience." We won't be back as they obviously don't care about maintaining our business. read more

Well...I have never been treated so badly by a sales clerk! I needed a special occasion jacket for an upcoming event. I found a great jacket set at Macy's 139.00. The clerk asked for my Macy's card - I told her that I wasn't using it for this purchase...then the rudeness started. She took the set off the hanger and shoved it into a plastic bag- not leaving it on the hanger and placing it in a dress bag. She did not thank me for my purchase and got pissy when I asked for the hanger!!! I immediately asked for a manager and returned the set. I got a form letter apologizing for the behavior. I'm not sure if I'm more mad at the fact that I waited about an hour for shoe service or the fact that when we asked for the store number they all of a sudden we're going to call someone to help us out: This is after the fact that the lady I asked for service told me she could help me then continued to help other people... then as we were talking about the situation my husband said earlier as we were walking in he asked another associate if he could guide us to the men's tuxedo section and the associate blatantly kept looking at his computer screen and stood silent then just pointed in the direction of where we needed to go without even looking at my husband. I have always been more of a Macy's fan when it comes to this type of department store but today I found myself at Elder Beerman because Macy's didn't have what I wanted. I have been on the hunt for a dark red loafer/flat for a few weeks. I found an Anne Klien that I loved. It was available in three colors, one of the them being dark red. But Macy'[s only had it in black and according to the shoe department salesperson, it was not available anywhere in the whole of Macy's in dark red. Apparently the buyers for Macy's don't think we like colors anymore exciting than black. Imagine my excitement when I found the dark red version at Elder Beerman in my size and it fit perfectly! In addition, this Elder Beerman had an extensive collection of mid-range designer shoes like Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Vince Camuto. In my opinion, Macy's could learn something from their competition. read more
