I haven't been to this Macy's in over 20 yrs and I won't go back for another 20. I love to shop at Macy's but this location is a dump and is in desperate need of a major overhaul. The place is so dirty and gross, hardly any merchandise in the whole store. What merchandise they have appears to be cheap clothing styles from 3 or more yrs ago, everything is dated, the jewelry cases were almost bare. The sales people if you could find one were just miserable. I went into a ladies dressing room and it was so disgusting I couldn't even begin to think about trying on cloths. I came in on a whim to review Bar III clothes - I'm looking for a designer that is budget friendly, trendy, mix and match and matchy Matchie sets for my xs/s frame - being right at the beginning of tall tall 5'9 and thin can have you looking jr high in clothes even though you're over 30 ok I'm over 40ish - anyway Bar III by Macys nice and trendy, won't break your pockets down to lint and I love dainty but also mixed with tom boy vibes - everyday wear but classy, sexy but can be dressed down or dressed up depending on accessories so buying clothes is always a challenge - I need to be an ambassador for some clothing lines or something - we all don't have BBLs or spend 300 hrs in the gym but are slim or thick or something in between - Dress us too... After 20 years of use our couch and loveseat were looking pretty sad, and we started shopping for new ones. It turned out to be a very discouraging process -- the local selection every place we looked was either bland beyond belief (all whites, beiges and greys), poor quality (cheap synthetic fabrics that looked like they'd last about a year, max), both, or else wildly, insanely expensive -- I know prices have gone up, but I've owned lots of cars that cost less than what a nice-ish couch costs at some places. And, every place we looked had a 4-10 week wait, which is absurd for bland, "off the rack" furniture. In desperation we wound up at Macy's, and WOW I'm so glad we did. They actually had lots of choices! Much of it in stock! At a decent price! In colors other than white, grey, and beige! We wound up with a quality leather set for less than we'd have paid in one of the big furniture stores for synthetic fabric. They delivered it in a little over a week, and the delivery could not have gone better. If we need more furniture, this will be our first stop. read more

When I'm in Harford County, this Macy's is my go-to. It's relatively small--only one floor, but it has everything I need in a department store. There is plenty of parking in the front and back, and it's clean and neat, even during the holidays. Lines are rarely long, and their associates are friendly, helpful and efficient. The sales are usually good, and they often offer 20% off with a coupon (look on the Macy's app!). Sometimes it's hard to determine the price of an item, so I either use their price check stations or check the app on my phone. I also like the quality of their women's clothes and hand bags. You'll pay a little more than you might at some on-line "bargain" sites, but the clothes I buy here last and look better longer. read more

The staff we encountered were nice and pleasant, but the store itself is severely lacking. The selection of merchandise offered was out of date and out of touch with reality. I'm talking like 3 years old or older merchandise. There were sales and bargain signs everywhere but I didn't find anything worth buying. Stopped at the Harford Mall to put our name in at Steelfish and then shop for a sofa here. Mall security told us we couldn't park here if we had any intention of leaving this lot for any reason. Sorry for your loss Macy's Furniture. We will go back to Wolf. read more

Sadly my days of shopping at Macy's are over. I have always loved this store and this location. I have always had a great experience coming in and have worked with a few sales people I have really enjoyed who helped me build my outfits I wanted. however, Macy's has decided to continue to sell Ivanka Trump apparel and accessories. As long as this company believes it is okay to go against the people of the United States and support the anti christs daughter. I will no longer be shopping at Macy's and I will be canceling my 12,000 credit card with them this evening. Along with 15 of my friends and family.... one word of advise to macy's is ..... you should not bite the hand that feeds you! I love Macy's overall. My favorite department store! This particular Macy's is nice - the customer service has always been good. My only issue is that it carries less items than White Marsh and Towson Macy's, but I also understand why. It just stinks because it's the closest one to me. But again, the customer service is always great, and it's not like they have a whole lot less than other Macy's stores. read more

This is my Macy's, the one closest to where I live. The place is clean and well organized. The staff in Men's is always friendly and helpful. Wish I could say the same about the staff in Women's. Mostly they are good. Sometimes it's hard to get them to notice you. I guess it was about a year and a half ago that I realized Macy's has some great sales. I can't really figure out the timing on the sales some times, but days like today when I can get 4 sweaters for $40 ...is a good day! read more

I love this store! I recently had a part of a suede boot come off due to a manufacturer defect. It only did they replace them immediately they were cheaper that day so I was able to repurchase them for the discounted rate. Employees are kind friendly, make up counter staff is helpful. The shoe department is the worst I have ever encountered. Lazy people who do not help because they make a commission. Other departments are alright. Lady's suit department/area was overwhelmingly helpful. Will never buy shoes from this store. read more

I had a great experience at the Macy's in Bel Air. I was in a rush trying to get one more errand in before I picked up my kids from school. The ladies working in the linens area were really great in helping me find everything I needed quickly. They rushed me through the checkout process and even found a $20 off coupon that I was eligible for. read more

Some of the sales associates at the Macy's Bel Air store are very nice. However, be aware that some of them are very, very rude. We were accosted by an older woman, thin with bleached blonde hair, who had a loud, grating voice and simply would not leave us alone as we tried to browse. She had another woman yell at us when we did not comply with one of her suggestions. This other woman was the nasty type, the type who likes to spoil for a fight, who loves nothing better than to use what small power she has to lord it over others and try and make their lives miserable. Words were exchanged. Security was called, over nothing, and the young man who showed up while initially pleasant ended up making a disgusting remark, sexual in nature, that I can't post here. It was a bad experience. Won't shop there again for awhile. Some of the staff members are in desperate need of customer relations training. I still can't believe how poorly we were treated. We got the last laugh though when we bought what we needed at Sears instead. Hey Macy's: customers aren't going to spend money with a store that treats them like dirt. read more
