The Macy's at Christiana Mall had been steadily going downhill for a while so I had stopped going years ago. This one has given me that old Macy's feeling back. The store is neat, bright and easy to maneuver through. The jewelry selection where I spent most of my time browsing the cases was beautiful and the sale prices were amazing. That is one thing that has always set Macy's appart, their incredible sales.

Thomas running into the stockroom. He is supposed to be the manager. I don't think there is a manager at this store.

First off, good luck finding someone to wait on you. I have had a problem with one of their store managers who also is a stock person. His name is Thomas and clearly he is not about customer satisfaction or service or even apologizing to a customer politely. I was in the store three weeks ago when I wanted to purchase sheets that were marked down on the first floor corner area of items. When I took it to the register, an older woman by the name of Beverly said that it was not ringing up properly... It was ringing up as more money than what was on the price tag. She had to call "a manager "happened to be Thomas who is dressed as a stock person, and while he may be in charge, he is definitely not a manager yet alone manager material. He said it was priced incorrectly, and he would not sell it at the price it was marked. I have never run into an experience like this at any store yet alone what is supposed to be or perhaps what used to be a more upscale store in the very upscale King of Prussia Mall. Said, somebody marked it by mistake why was that my problem? If it was a customer who did this then why didn't they purchase it? I have been a customer of this store for about 30 years and never been treated this way. Perhaps that's why Macys is not doing as well. I didn't feel like arguing and had been waiting for this so-called manager to appear for about 20 minutes. He was busy putting Stock away in the stockroom. Today I came into the store to return a necklace new inbox with receipt that I had ordered online. It was a Father's Day gift that I had purchased for my nieces to give to my brother as a Father's Day present. It was regularly $170 and I purchased it for $41. That is the receipt that I had along with the barcode of my credit card and I had my ID with me. Again over this guy Thomas and he says nope it's been over 30 days. Can't return it. I'm not asking for $170. I'm asking for a $40 credit on my Macys Credit Card Apparently there are no other so-called managers on duty and the Jewelry manager could not be reached. There's absolutely no reason that this should not be returned to maintain customer satisfaction. Thomas said nope and walked away. No apology or thank you for being a loyal customer. Just a frown, a cold stare, and a walk away. I attached a photo of him going into the stockroom I'm so disappointed in Macys

(Shut up, Signor Visa -- you'll get your blood money eventually.) I was lured in to the store by the overall chic and clean look of the clothing displayed in the windows, and was rewarded inside by denim without bedazzling of any sort, beautifully-made sweaters, jodhpur-styled leggings and dresses evoking a 1930s simplicity. On-trend wooden-soled clogs and lace-up boots completed the picture of Depression-era style. The designer Alexa Chung had just released a collection for Madewell on 9/15/2010, so I was able to paw her ankle-length silk skirts and gorgeous blazers, as well as the classic denim collections. The girls working in the shop greeted me pleasantly, didn't hover, asked casually if I needed help finding anything, and were helpful in locating items in different colors or sizes. The dressing rooms were bright and had flattering lighting. What more could you ask for?

After wandering around the mall for some time, I found Akira. I immediately knew this place would have something, as they have a location in my hometown of Columbus and I shop there from time to time, always finding really rad stuff. After browsing around for a while and not finding what I was looking for, one of their lovely staff members, Alyssa, offered to help me and oh my goodness, I'm so glad she did. After describing what I was on the hunt for, she ran all over the store trying to find something that would work for me. After about ten minutes or so, we found a few things worthy of trying on. All of which were on clearance which was the icing on the cake. I ended up walking out with three items, one for the festival and two others just for fun. I wore one of the shirts for New Years Eve and people were stopping me left and right to ask where I got it from. Depending on your style, this place could be the perfect place to shop. Their clothing and accessories are fun, vibrant, unique, and reasonably priced. Shout out to Alyssa from Ohio for all the help!

Note: this is a review more for nostalgia than the shopping…read more This was one of the first places I visited while back in the mall and for the most part, not much has changed since I was last here several years ago with a couple exceptions. Looking up at the hundreds of white butterflies suspended from the ceiling while on the escalators was a welcoming sight. Women's shoes still took up a good portion of the second floor, and now they have a new (well, to me) mall entrance not too far from this section where there is also a La Colombe coffee area. Last time I was here, instead of walking into the mall from this new entrance, you would be walking to the old parking garage, while passing the smaller children's area on one side, and intimate apparel on the other. A lovely woman named Toni used to work in the latter section. What hit me the most was the third floor; passing the home section going towards the restrooms, there used to be a customer service counter directly to the left. Now this area is completely gone; an open space now stands and the smaller rooms that were in the back could have been personal shopping salons, but all of them were empty when I took a quick look. It was weird seeing it in this state now when it used to be quite busy in the mornings until early evening. Most people would come to pay their bills (if they bothered to at all, ha) but since most of this is now conducted online/via the app, I guess there was no need for this anymore. And yes, I used to work here. As much as I wanted to look for familiar faces, this would have taken up a lot of time and a little part of me didn't want to; for there were some really good memories here and I wanted them to remain that way. Interestingly, a few names mentioned in the reviews here in somewhat recent years do ring a bell, and I admit I did see one face while on the top floor, but we didn't really talk while I was here then, so I didn't see the point of starting now. Otherwise, it appears as though NM is still the go-to for luxury department store shopping in the King of Prussia mall.
