I went directly to shoe department and found a couple of pairs I wanted to try on. I received prompt acknowledgement and assistance from the only sales associate, Brenda on 04/06. When it came time to checkout there was a line. I waited patiently and watched as she maneuvered through each customer providing good service knowing there was a line. She smiled, not stressed and moved at an appropriate pace. Upon my turn she clarified final sale item which I declined to purchase then completed the sell on another shoe. I let her know I appreciated her service and her demeanor during a busy period. Thank you for having such a wonderful sales associate present! Hopefully next time she'll have help. read more

I have had so many issues with this location. To the point they I will no longer shop with Macy's moving forward. The crazy part is I previously worked for a different location for 8 years! So I know the policies and how the system work. Town Center location plays the customers like they are dummies. Today a woman in cosmetics told me that their refutes policy is 60 days (lies) it's 90. This review is more of an appreciation for the quick, easy and hassle free returns macy's offers on merchandise purchased online. I've always liked Macy's and I shop more online than in store. This time I had to return two MAC Aaliyah lipsticks that I bought online (packaging and delivery being excellent) and the store representative directed me towards the appropriate return section where my returns were taken care of in no time. The staff member was extremely professional. While I was at this store, I also took a few pictures. Even though there weren't many customers around, the store was running up and bright with representatives managing their respective sections quite well. It's always nice to see a well run store! Leave your purse in the car and take cash LOL Otherwise you're going to be broke. Macy's has a funny way of convincing you that you need the matching top to coordinate with the boots and of course the scarf and hat to match. Great place to shop and get gifts for everyone in the family. I went in to buy some MAC foundation but walked out with a new winter coat. This is a review for online ordering and curbside pickup. I don't often think of Macy's as a place to shop. If I'm going to a department store I go to Nordstrom, but Macy's had some really great Black Friday deals that I couldn't resist. When I found out that they were doing curbside pick up I thought that would be much better to deal with than to navigate all of the black Friday crowds inside, and I was right. The idea of curbside pick up is great but a lot of places don't do it well - they have bad signage or it's confusing where to go and how to check in, etc., but Macy's is great- they tell you right on the receipt that they email to you about where to park. In this case it's on the north side of the store facing 117th St. There is a fairly large easy to read sign directing you where to go and some dedicated parking spots. You just pull in and send them your parking spot number on the link that they've texted you. The young woman who brought me my packages was out in just a couple of minutes with a big smile on her face wearing a cute Santa hat. I really appreciated that she was working on Black Friday and still had a smile on her face. I will gladly order from this location again. read more

Cosmetics department employees are so mean ; I try to call and didn't receive the answer on my question, lady who talked was so mean and rude. Also I had bad experiences when I shopped there a couple times. They are talking to you like you are thrush and they are owners of this store. I went to return some shoes into purchased online. Patty, from the shoe department helped me. She was very friendly and helpful. I ended up purchasing more shoes off of the clearance rack. I was disappointed becAuse the boots I wanted said they were in stock, online, however, when Patty went to order them fOr me, it said "not in stock." Oh well, o guess we can't win them all. I stopped by the Chanel counter to see if they had my lip color (Daring Red) in stock; of course, they didn't. ‍ The store was very clean and organized. Decided to stop by to look for clothes and shoes. I went to the Ralph Lauren area of the men's department, and it was a complete mess. Clothes were unfolded and seemingly tossed back onto the shelf. Men's shoes was the same. Shoes were on the ground, out of boxes. It was if no one even gave time to straightening that department either. At that point, I decided to leave the store and not go back. I don't shop at Macy's; however, I came here because it was close by after I ate dinner and I had a gift card that I wanted to spend. Parking was plentiful so there shouldn't be issues finding parking unless it's Christmas time or some other sale like Black Friday. The first floor appeared to be all women's merchandise so I went upstairs where the men's, kid's, and other sections were. The shoe section was small but there was a large area for men's clothing. There weren't too many people working here but it was only a few hours before they closed. I bought some jeans, but I thought another Macy's could have more selection. That's for another day. I was asked if I want to make a donation today and I said "one dollar". The cashier charged $25 on my Macys card as part of a promotion without telling me. I looked at the receipt before leaving the store and realized what happened. Two store employees didn't know how to take that out (the original employee was nowhere to be seen). They asked a man (assistant manager?) and he cancelled the charge, while I was telling him stuff like this shouldn't happened. He didn't even apologize! NO WAY ANYONE COULD BE THAT DUH! MAC Cosmetics at Macy's!!! Over the years Macy's has done right by me. However from the most recent online purchase (received the wrong item) that was incorrect and ruined a wedding day to the dork throwing away a sample I'm just about done with Macy's. Let's begin with going to the MAC counter. I ask the girl, where is your tinted moisturizer. She has NOOOOOOO clue what I talking about...in my mind I'm thinking "why are you working at a cosmetic counter" some how I've been using this product for years but I must have the wrong company because Mac as never sold tinted moisturizer so I show her my empty container. She points me in the direction of the foundation. Literally pointing! I've now touched several different bottles cause I don't know which one she's referring to. How bout you walk over here a show me. Guess that's not Macy's nor MAC's policy to actually be hands on with a customer and SHOW them products instead of pointing. So as I'm trying on different products (by myself, because she was no help) I find two that might be a good color. I tell her I want a sample of both. She starts to make one, and a little bit pours into the container. It did not fill it up and that was ok with me, I just need to try it on in natural light. She starts to make the other sample (the one SHE thought look better on ME). She then starts to look for another bottle of the one I LIKE and says oh well we're all out of this tester. So my response is well make another test bottle. Her : well I can't. Me: so when others come in to try this on what are you going to do??? Her: I don't know. As I stand there to receive the other sample, she ask is there anything else I can help you with. I'm yeah my other sample. Her: on I threw it out. Me: why would you throw it out, what you had in the container was enough for me to try it. I mean for Christ sakes!!! Needless to say I was pissed. Ugh. This place feels like an upscale thrift store. If you are into racks that are crammed together, walking on clothes that have never been picked up by the sales staff, tracking down someone to help you and depressing and ugly dressing rooms-this is the place for you! The only reason people would possibly want to shop here, is the perceived savings. But the only time they offer you a significant discount is when you open a crappy Macys card. The problem is Macys has turned into a disappointment. It feels like corporate doesn't care (quality/merchandising/interior), the employee's don't care (no one is picking up clothes on the floor or cleaning up dressing rooms),so why should customers care??? One star for the shoe department. Those guys really seem to hate the customers. They may as well just let us go back and find our own size. It would probably be a better experience for everyone involved. The perfume/cologne dept has like 200 employees. They are like the gatekeepers, stationed right at the front door. I did have an ok experience in the home store when buying some Pyrex. Found it online for cheap but the store had it for a million or so dollars. They honored the online price and let us use a coupon. Score. This was the home store evening crew. Fine bunch. They saved Macy's from a one star review. read more

I used to hate department store when I was younger. Mainly because I always got lost in them...actually I still do. Macy's has certainly grown on me. I do like that they have a petite Women's section cause I'm short. I also like their shoe department. They carry a lot of cute trendy styles. They've got a great Home department too. Macy's offers a lot of coupons, but they're often very limited as to the brands they can be used on which is annoying. They do have good mark downs in their accessories department, you can get some nice brands discounted. I give only three stars here because they customer service is average at best. Plus you can't always check out at any department. Like Shoes must be purchased in the shoe department and you cat' buy anything else there meaning you have to go to at least two counters to check out if you have shoes and say clothes. Also the store can be pretty dishevel at times. I like to shop nicely organized racks and areas. For some reason it seems it hard for them to keep up. Certainly stop by Macy's next time you're out shopping. Don't go in with high expectations and you won't be disappointed. read more

Why all the haters? I love Macy's. I have the credit card and get the coupons. You have to be careful to find out what they do and do not work on, but you can get great deals on Calvin Klein, Nike, Ralph Lauren, etc, This store is smaller but it has a great selection and I am not as overwhelmed in this one as I am in the Oak Park stores. They have a great selection of costume jewelry and good sales on it. The shoe area can be really crowded - I would suggest off peak times - but there are great deals to be had here. You may have to dig a bit to find a bargain, but not always. I've seen some of the best bargains right on the aisle. read more

Worst shopping experience in years. Waited for 10 minutes in women's shoes for help and over 20 in sports shoes. No one was there to help and when going to other departments for assistance they kept claiming to page someone. We left after a half hour when we were planning to make quite a few purchases for holiday shopping. No wonder brick and mortar stores are going under. So sad. read more

The staff is always helpful and friendly when I go in. If anything, you may be over served rather than under. The real issue is the size range on the clothing. I can be a women's (or, plus) size in somethings, and a straight size in others. It's frustrating to be right at the cut off. Not really a location issue, or connected to the staff. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because I found what I was looking for on sale. Otherwise, this looks like a store about to close. No service in the men's department at all. Nobody. The whole section was a wreck with overfilled racks that were terribly mixed up, clothing on the floor, visible dust on all of the displays. The latches on the dressing room doors are broken so the door stays open while you change. Classy. Seriously, just hang a sign out front that says "EVERYTHING MUST GO" because a store run like this might as well shut their doors. read more

First off, Macy's is a confusing chain. Seriously...oh so confusing. They try to be too much. One part of the store can have super expensive, high-end product, while the next part can have low end cheap stuff. They really need to decide what they are - high end or discount? Either one is fine, but both isn't really cool. This Macy's seems really disorganized and cluttered. That adds to the feeling of it being low end. If I am going to spend higher prices to buy higher end stuff, I'll roll over to Nordstrom or some place that has a bit nicer feeling to it rather than this hectic, somewhat loud, disorganized and frustrating Macy's. Or I will buy it online like the 21st century ;) The people here seem stoic - they seem to be miserable on their job, but don't really show it. Wife to be and I got recently engaged over Thanksgiving and we decided to register with Macy's because of the good things we've heard from a family member who had also registered at Macy's. We quickly decided to register somewhere else after visiting the store. Despite their website saying this store offers wedding registry services, they really don't. The only thing we saw that mentioned wedding registry on it was a kiosk-which wasn't what we expected or wanted. I later called the customer service number on the website to ask about this and the rep told me the nearest store to us with an actual in store person isin St. Louis! The store was also messy, cramped and had very little selection to choose from. The pricing was also higher for some of the very same merchandise that could be found elsewhere. I price compared a Calphalon cookware set while in the store and found it cheaper at Bed,Bath and Beyond. We ended up going with Dillards, Amazon and Bed, Bath and Beyond. read more

I needed a new pair of heels and the customer service associate wasn't very friendly or helpful despite me saying what kind of shoes I was looking for. They also didn't have my shoe size in stock for either of the heels I was able to pick out on my own. I'm not used to a Macy's that just has shoes out for display and no sizes you need for sale. I was in the handbag department line and another customer came up from the side and asked the Macy's employee Natalie if she could be shown something from the case. Instead of checking me out, Natalie asked me to hold on a minute and she'd be back. I waited about 5-10 minutes and when she did come back she asked me to step aside so she could ring up this other customer. I was in line first, why would you go help someone else before checking me out and then proceed to ring them up before me? read more

The girls at the MAC counter in Macy's are phenomenal! Always smiling, knowledge and more than helpful. I've never been the type of shopper that asks for or generally needs assistance. In fact, I find it rather irritating sometimes when you're just trying to shop and the associates hound you. But at the MAC counter the girls are always helpful without being pushy, and they always have such helpful tips that I actually use on the daily. read more

I went in to buy a pair of earrings for a black tie wedding and found a pair on the 25% off clearance rack. The lady at the coach counter offered to ring me up. They rang up full price and I asked her, and she said, no they are full price. Well, they were about $30 and I already had spent over $500 to attend this wedding, so I told her I would look to see the details of the sale and be right back. Well, I was in a hurry, and just decided to pay the money and return to the counter not 40 seconds later and she was gone from the check out. So I walked to another checkout, and a lady was there, I literally made eye contact with her, but by the time I rounded a clothes rack, she had stepped away from her check out counter. So I looked high and low for another counter and couldn't find anyone to check me out so I left empty handed and late for my appointment. I was furious!!!!! This was 6:00 on a Wednesday. So I think they were so busy putting away clothes to end their day to help their customers. Such a disappointment. read more

I shop at the Town Center Macys from time to time. I can't say I've ever had a friendly sales associate help me. Even the person who answers the main phone number isn't friendly. I go there only when I happen to be in the area and need makeup or clothes for something specific. I wouldn't recommend the store primarily because I haven't gotten good help there. This review is mainly for the Chanel make up counter. I don't live in Leawood anymore, but when ever I come home to visit I usually stop into Macy's for something. Usually my experience is decent, I know what I want and where to find it, and the staff is typically very polite. Until today, when I simply wanted to purchase new foundation at the Chanel counter. The woman who was working the counter was helping me to find a color that worked with my skin, and as she was testing it on my face, she basically just started insulting me. She said my skin was so rough and I really needed to exfoliate and buy a good moisturizer (mind you I have just started using retin A so my skins texture is readjusting). She then proceeded to ask me if I ever get any sleep because the circles under my eyes were so bad, and that I needed to buy a good concealer. This woman was old enough to probably be my grandma, yet felt the need to insult my skin. I couldn't believe someone who wanted to make a sale would be so rude! I guess this was her way of trying to get me to purchase more products, but instead it made me feel very insulted and I left. Never again will I purchase any make up from Macy's. They need to train their employees to treat people with respect, and be positive and helpful, not negative and critical. read more

The perfume reps are just awful at Leawood Macy's. There were 9 of them today. They won't leave you alone, as though you could tell what their product smells like with all the others present. They are so obnoxious, they are even harassing people as they go OUT the door. No manager on duty. No assistant manager on duty. Only a manager trainee. I left without buying anything. read more
