11/28/25 There is nothing like walking into a department store during the holidays -- beautiful Christmas trees everywhere, lights sparkling, and different little pockets of amazing smells . I even snapped a few pics of the things I liked, because the setup really was gorgeous. The lines were moving quickly and everything felt super organized... until I needed actual help. I asked a lady with a scanner if she could check the price of a GUESS bag I was planning to purchase. She looked me up and down, rolled her eyes, and told me she "doesn't work in that department"... then continued scanning bags. I said, "Okay, then get me your manager." Suddenly her whole attitude changed: "How can I help you?" At that point I said, "You know what? I'm not spending my money here." Told my sister, "Let's keep it moving." And we left that store. Beautiful store. Terrible help. And that's all it takes to lose a sale. read more

How is this Macy's even still in business the outside of the store looks atrocious. Once you go inside and look for any merchandise worthwhile. It just does not exist, absolutely ghetto, and there's no help from anywhere or anyone, clothes are all over the floor. everything is at a disarray. I am absolutely floored how this place even stays open. They have nothing worthwhile purchasing in this store. They carry the worst brand names. The fashion is at least 10 years old and the HomeGoods area and the basement is embarrassing. I think the only good part of this Macy's is the Starbucks and this place is even a mess. read more

The primary reason I like this Macy's is convenience. I love shopping at Macy's in general and this is one of the most convenient ones to shop at while I'm running errands. There is a huge parking lot, so access is very easy - not much access via bus or subway though. The store is often short staffed so be prepared to walk a lot. Terrible. the outside looks trashy to include two huge planters which should have plants in the or trees and they dumped rocks there and 100S of cigarette butts. Purchased something and they did NOT HAVE A BAG. I returned all of my items because of this amongst other things. mall looks like a 1980s nightmare. needs to shut down entirely. nobody goes to these places anymore. read more

Second time here at this Macy's with my bf and fur baby, and had to make an update based on my wonderful experience today (first time a few months ago wasn't bad at all, but wanted to show that my and my fur baby's second times were even better!). The employees were VERY helpful in my selecting a perfume. I really spent quite a while going through most of the women's scents, and the employees that assisted me were so patient. They were welcoming to our fur baby too, commenting on how cute he is and gently petting him. While I was taking my sweet time in the cosmetics section, my bf spent time in the men's sections. Great store love Macy clothes n this location but cosmetics sales help in smash box n ester lauder have attitudes. I've spent hundred of $$ over the years but yesterday I only pick up the essential items- I will go to Nordstrom for the rest. The cosmetic reps were condescending and ageist . ( ester lauder - when I advised her the foundation she put on me was too drying the gal from across several tables told me "well YOU rubbed it on so much of course it's dry". Josephine is the most patient department store employee ever. I was trying to find something suitable to wear to a family wedding. Even though her department is actually intimate apparel, she was all too happy to help me. The store is quite large and she walked back and forth several times to get me other sizes and styles, as I could not do it myself. She went to the computer to look up options and would not leave my side until I had found several items. This was all while assisting other customers. I just wish every store had a Josephine. Macy's give that woman a promotion and a raise!!! read more

I shopped here several times in the last year, for clothing and luggage etc I like that it's a separate store with lots of Parking so it's easy in and easy out. Also there a starbucks inside. Much better than a crowded location. read more

A cashier was taking his time unfolding and folding the towels of the customer in front of us. It literally took him a whole minute to fold one face towel. He kept glancing over at the cashier next to him to see how fast she was moving and then back at us. As if he didn't want us to be his next customers. But we ended up getting him anyway. It was clear he didn't want to deal with us even though we were paying customers. No greeting. Not even a simple hello. He kept giving us dirty looks with his eyes and just shrugged when the machine kept having trouble reading our cards (mind you we have used these credit cards at other locations with no trouble whatsoever so it was definitely a machine error). He just stood there while we figured out how to pay for our purchase because the machine was supposedly not working. It makes me extremely angry and uncomfortable we were treated this way at Macy's, a department store where we frequent as a family. It was also understaffed - the lines were super long on every floor with only 2 registers open on each. We will definitely not return to this location in the future. We'll stick with the Flushing location from now on. read more

My daughter and I were shopping in Macys in Manhasset and our arms were full with with clothes. We went up to a cashier and asked if the register was ooen..she rolled her eyes at us and said "it will be ..when I open it!" Ummm...ok... I go to talk to a Manager and tell them how rude this cashier is. And she takes my # and said she will pass it along and someone will call me.. 2 weeks later..no call. I came in today to ask about watch battery change services at the watches department. The lady who I encountered said they didn't do watch battery changes and she'll ask her coworker for suggestions of other places that might provide this service. The other lady standing by the jewelry section was so rude and I felt like I was being scolded for asking a genuine question. Not a friendly location and customer service. I would recommend going to a further Macys location if need be. read more

Manhasset Macy's is alright. This location is ginormous. I can easily be spend two hours here to my husband's dismay. Ha ha The store is always clean and neatly organized for the most part, even the clearance racks assuming no crazy sales. But when the sales and doorbuster deals are on, I can't say the same. There's always plenty of parking in the huge lot to match. I am particularly liking that there's a Starbucks just off the side entrance. (Shopping can work up an appetite!). I really like the variety of brands offered in this location (for those that don't know, every store caters to the neighborhood so some brands are not offered in all locations, especially if the prices price out the hood they're located in). My go to brand for this store is the INC and Alfani which I believe is there staple anyway. My only complaint is that the cash registers are few and take too long to check out. You have lines of folks waiting to purchase but sometimes only one cashier or none altogether in certain departments. Management needs to fix that. I know some days that's ok but not your typical summer weekends. Especially if the seasonal stuff is being swapped out. read more

I don't know why this Macy's looks like it's going down hill. Every time I come here I feel like their is a sign at the door saying no fat people allowed because every time I come here products that are usually XXL or bigger is never to be found. Their are some XL options but very slim. The other part looks like that this location is run by a bunch a Of high school idiots. Everything is all over the place no once at the registers. Fitting rooms are a joke (very dirty, broken, and not taken care). So much on the renovations. They're very nice polite but... and let me clarify this is about Macy's on Northern Blvd in Manhasset, NY a metropolitan area made up primarily of upper middle class income. Having gone for a ride with a relative and our elderly mothers to assist shop with them, the time came for elderly to use the lavatories. Thank god my relative is a nurse and assisted both women to the women' room. I heard her angry voice in disgust of the lavatory room while I waited outside. They all exited. And my relative was disgusted of the condition the lavatory was in. She took it upon herself to clean up the toilet stalls for both our mothers ; that alone is disgusting. Pics attached to show which lavatory I'm referring to; next to bridal. Wake up Manhasset; you live in a bubble. So, why Macy's isn't in control of all their lavatories is beyond my reasoning why. The cleaning staff should have them spotless every 30 minutes. And for those of you living in Manhasset your Macy's is this is a pathetic representation of the Manhasset town and its people. Macy's wake up; seems you're as "frozen" as Disney (a cash cow) but it seems you can't thaw yourself out of this and take care of your customers the way you used to. I came today to pay a visit to my "cliniquecian" Mona who was transferred here by default from the recently closed Douglaston branch. It was nice to see her at her new home. I'd been in this location multiple times before. I found this store quite a driving distance from where I live but I have no choice now as Douglaston has been shutdown. The parking lot is huge. Which ever day and time you come- definitely you'll get a spot. A lot of improvements has been made since my last visit. My trip was short as I was in a rush. I may need to come back to totally see what's special things I would enjoy on this location. For now happy to see there is Starbucks café inside the store. read more

1 star for the football field parking lot. 1 star for the emptiness of this store I like shopping in places with very little crowds and this Macy's was it. The ratio of employees to customers is like 1:10 there's really no one around. Me and my dad entered and the first thing I hear is some employee in the men's department shout out the word racist, followed by some other crap while laughing. That's a warm welcome. All I wanted was a pair of Swarovski earrings and I was pretty set on getting them here since this Macy's was 3x as large as my local one. I went to the jewelry section where a female employee made eye contact with me from 3 counters away and gave me a dirty ass look. I was dressed in a hoodie, ripped jeans, and combat boots. Sorry I am not dripping money with my outfit on my day off from work. There was literally NO ONE as the jewelry counters. I walked the area one time and passed by the woman who grilled me and she was already assisting another woman so I just left. I ended up buying them for pick up at my local Macy's instead. 10/10 would not be back here. read more

I came solely to support my friend with her mission of finding snow boots. Although she was successful with her mission and also finding a bonus pair of boots she was pretty much on her own for the 20 mins that we were there. We had to walk over to a sales lady to get assistance. She tried to make light of the situation that we had to approach her instead of vice versa. She told us that she didn't want my friend carrying around anything because it'll be too heavy. I gave the sales lady a side eye and rolled my eyes because she was speaking a foreign language to me at that point. Just get the sizes my friend needs and keep it moving. We did all of the footwork no pun intended. The shoe department is a mess. A complete zoo. No one to be found unless you personally tap a salesperson on their shoulder for help. read more

Department store. As previously stated about other Macy's locations, I like Macy's overall but hate that some of their stores always look a battalion of infantry just went through. This location is one of the better ones. Smaller (it seems to me) than the huge locations scattered around the island, they seem to run a tight ship here and as a double bonus, it never seems to be that crazy crowded here. This is the best Macys in the area. This macys is spacious and has a great variety of clothing. The staff is more efficient than the staff at the Roosevelt Field location. I went in yesterday to look for some cloths for my son downstairs in the children's department. After I found some peices, I headed over to the nearest register. Denise, the cashier, assisted me with my check out. She was welcoming and was kind enough to search for coupons to apply to my transaction. I was paying with a giftcard which was giving an issue, but Denise was extremely patient and was able to resolve the giftcard issue and apply it to my transaction. They have a pretty big dress selection and I've bought gowns from here for multiple occasions like weddings and huge fundraising dinners. I believe they really do need more staff and work quicker. I arrived to Macy's in Manhassett around 6:45pm, I have a wedding next month and looking for a nice dress. After spending one hour picking about 10 items, I went to the fitting room, around 7:45pm. Was told by a rude woman there that the fitting rooms are closed. I put the dresses back in the hanger. I thought it was pandemic related, but when I went downstairs to meet my husband who was in the suit department. He told me they were open there. Why would you close Macy's at 9pm if you treat your customers this way. I came all the way from Queens. I was frustrated and i'll never go back or recommend this place again. read more

Bridesmaids beware!!! Not a good experience here. We ordered dresses in March for an October wedding. We didn't get them until the last week of September. Every time the bride called to ask what was going on, they had a different answer. They clearly messed something up and then were not be honest about it. Also my alterations were not done that well. The chest needed to be taken in and then as a result they made the whole dress way too tight it barely fit. I had to take it somewhere else instead. Overall, the dress just fit me, with no room for error. So the girl who originally sized me should have ordered a larger size. And everyone in the Bridal party felt the same way. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. I am not an overly dramatic or needy person like most ladies involved in a wedding party, so don't confuse my negative review with someone who complains over every little thing. This is not the case here. The service here was seriously lackluster. read more

I didn't buy my dress from here but they had a very nice selection. my maid of honor who is also getting married got her bridesmaid dresses here and has said nothing but good things also in that department. very nice looking stuff! I recently went to there website to search for a new mattress...I saw their solicitation for new credit cards, offering 20% off purchases today and tomorrow up to a maximum of $100.00....good deal...I applied....was approved....clicked purchase....NO DISCOUNT!! I called customer service...there response....you have to use the card to make the purchase...how is that not in the solicitation to apply...and also you don't have the card even at that point. It's a fraud...a scam to get card holders...I will be canceling their card read more

Loved this store and have been going here since it was an A&S. There have been many changes over the years, most were good. I might have considered a higher rating before now, but for my recent experience with the jewelry department (am I bothering you?) piling on less recent experience with online order pickup at Manhasset (I'm not invisible, while you stand there not taking the only customer waiting.) My husband and I are longstanding patrons of Macy's, especially the Manhasset location. We were in the store on July 7, 2023, between 10:00am, and 10:30am. We were about to enter the section with men's underwear and socks, when an employee came up to us, and asked if we needed any help. I said, "No". The employee did not walk away. Rather, she stayed right where she was for almost 1 minute before walking away. When my husband and I had been in the underwear and socks section for approximately 2 minutes, I felt a presence behind my right shoulder. It startled me, and I screamed. I looked and saw that it was the same employee, creeping up on us...or me. I have a heart condition, being startled is not something that should happen to me. I had to lean against something to regain my composure. This would not leave me and my husband. She stood by my husband, even after she had scared me. I believe that this employee, who was Asian, and wearing a yellow dress that day, saw the color of my skin, and decided I was there to steal. I am an African American attorney, who has been practicing law in New York State for 30 years. I would not throw away all that I have accomplished in this life by stealing. I am not a thief by virtue of the color of my skin. This employee is a liability to Macy's, and should be dealt with accordingly. read more
