My husband and I are longstanding patrons of Macy's, especially the Manhasset location. We were in the store on July 7, 2023, between 10:00am, and 10:30am. We were about to enter the section with men's underwear and socks, when an employee came up to us, and asked if we needed any help. I said, "No". The employee did not walk away. Rather, she stayed right where she was for almost 1 minute before walking away. When my husband and I had been in the underwear and socks section for approximately 2 minutes, I felt a presence behind my right shoulder. It startled me, and I screamed. I looked and saw that it was the same employee, creeping up on us...or me. I have a heart condition, being startled is not something that should happen to me. I had to lean against something to regain my composure. This would not leave me and my husband. She stood by my husband, even after she had scared me. I believe that this employee, who was Asian, and wearing a yellow dress that day, saw the color of my skin, and decided I was there to steal. I am an African American attorney, who has been practicing law in New York State for 30 years. I would not throw away all that I have accomplished in this life by stealing. I am not a thief by virtue of the color of my skin. This employee is a liability to Macy's, and should be dealt with accordingly. read more

I just had the single worst shopping experience of my life. AVOID this store. Run. Go to Roosevelt Field. The staff at the new Return Center was rude and talking about me WHILE I WAS THERE AND waiting for assistance. Do not go here. I was at the Return Center for over an hour - juggled between different department managers all of whom were unsure of how to properly address the issue. Run. Save yourselves. Understaffed. Help on the floors in non-existent -- if you have a question about any item, there is nobody to ask. Lines at all registers at all times. Registers no longer have shopping bags or gift boxes. I bought Nautica sweaters for gifts in December and, after completing the purchase, was told to try a variety of other registers (all with lines) to see if any of them had a gift box. I tried returning a dress that they didn't happen to put a tag on and basically the cashier, Ana, called me a liar because when I bought it they had to scan a different size with a tag. She kept insisting that it was a different size on the receipt. When I told her I wanted a manager she said I had to wait because the manager can't come right now when she had not even called out for a manager. I am extremely disappointed and will never ever recommend this store again even though I've been shopping at macys for 20 years. walked in looking to buy a new bed, passed the shoes section and it was empty, shoes looked like they were in fashion 10 years ago.. the women shoe sections looks like "shoe cemetery", yeah this is where all shoes come to die. A very slow and painful death..lol. on the other hand we visited the bed section and they had different types of beds, hybrids and i dont mean a toyota prius, memory foam and traditional beds. A fantastic lady Estelle provided us with information and she walked us thru the whole process of buying a bed. Yes, very complicated process, almost as complicated as buying a car. Macy's has always been my go to department store for quality goods. Ive purchased everything from diamond jewelry to designer bags and shoes. Definitely my first stop if I'm looking for a good pair of Levis. There's usually some sort of sale going on at Macys, especially on the weekends. If you dont have coupons from the newspaper, just ask your cashier; Theyll hook you up. This location was kept clean and the staff was very helpful with locating certain items. The jacket section was organized and full of parkas, bubbles and puffers. The lines were short and quick, even on a Saturday and every register was open. I purchased a I.N.C bubble jacket that was $245 regular price. With their super sale (50%) and coupons provided to me by the cashier (thank u!) I paid $107!! I had a pleasant experience at this Manhasset location and would return. read more

This is by far the worst run Macy's I have ever been to, and I've been to the one in downtown Flushing, which is saying a lot. There were merely two people in line in front of me, and the cashiers took forever to take my money. Like, really? Talk about being extremely inefficient. It's disgusting. There either needs to be an RFID system in place at every cashier or some other way. This place is a model for ineffective service and inefficient cashier practices. Paying for items should not take this long. People should not be allowed to cut the line to do a price check, further delaying the check out process. Customers who need a price verification should be directed to the multiple price checking terminals available all throughout the store. This Macy's is easier to shop in since less people seem to be in the store at once. Maybe this is due to the fact that its a stand alone store and doesn't have the mall traffic; maybe people don't like Macy's. Regardless, it does make for an easier shopping experience. 3 stories, this particular location has a few items and lines that other Macy's don't---but in no way does it compare to Herald Square. The only Macy's that could compete with Herald Square would be South Coast Plaza in Orange County, California. The restroom is all the way downstairs in the back through children's. The ladies' room is typically a mess. :/ Yes, it's handicapped accessible, but it's a schlep. They have an enormous parking lot surrounded by trees---easily reminds me of a horror film. :/ read more

Macy's Bridal Salon- Demetrios Bridal Gowns What a perfect experience. Alyssa helped me and she was so attentive and helpful. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but we discussed body type, vision and budget, and Alyssa showed me a couple of dresses. I only tried on a handful of dresses, and was able to find my perfect bridal gown. Alyssa made me feel comfortable, and each time I went back, everyone was very helpful. The veil I wanted was over my budget so I had held off, Alyssa had called to let me know when they were on sale, and I was able to have the veil of my dreams! My expectations were surpassed. They scheduled everything perfectly and everything was on time and perfect! read more

I purchased some beauty supplies at Lancôme counter while ago which I had to pick up in later time...long story short today after almost 2 months I had a chance to stop by and pick up my merchandise I didn't even have copy of my receipt!! But as soon as I saw Diane Bochicchio wonderful lady, Lancôme Beauty Advisor she remembered me again just like last time helped me with my questions and with her expertise I was able to choose the right lotion for my face!! I usually come here when I don't wanna deal with the stampede at Roosevelt Field. This Macy's is usually a hit but it depends on the department. Makeup and fragrance on the lower level is always at its best. Unfortunately the bag department is not. Probably one of the worst when it comes to customer service, so shop at your own risk. I have never had an issue with shoes or clothes. Nonetheless I love the location and convenience. Oh and stop by the Starbucks attached, yes you can use your Macy's card to purchase yummy things :) read more

I'm always at the Herald Square Macy's so when i went to the Manhasset Macy's it was a breath of fresh air so to speak. I'm very much used to the intense crowds - so when you arrive - the crowds aren't that bad! I like being able to browse without having to fight off that one item that is on sale, with extra discounts and is on clearance and just happens to be in my size! Yeah i don't like having to fight for that. All the lines weren't long and the staff was very helpful - although - some staffers who weren't in their own areas weren't able to help much but that's understandable. The selection of clothing is pretty large having a big variety of stuff for young and old and trendy even. It's also nice to be able to park and not have to wait and stalk people walking to their cars. read more

I came with my friends for her wedding dress and we absolutely enjoyed the entire experience. The bridal attendant was Lily -- she was amazing. She listened to my friend and really helped her picked what she needed. She was so helpful. Had a bad experience in the Sunglasses Hut department of the Macy's store. My wife ordered sunglasses via Macy's online, however when she received the Burberry Sunglasses, they came with a small scratch. Burberry Sunglasses are expensive and as such, we shouldn't have to open the box to a scratched pair of expensive sunglasses. We entered this location and spoke to a person at the Sunglass section named Oguhzan. Mr. Ohuhzan was extremely unprofessional. The moment that my wife stated she wanted to make a return, he became rude, discourteous, and doubtful that we received the glasses this way. Once we pulled out the box it was delivered in, he became more compliant however began making snarky comments like "you have to contact Macy's to ensure you receive a credit". Now, why would we have to contact Macy's to ensure we are going to receive a credit when the sunglasses were sent this way? Was he going to put that they were returned damaged and cause a problem with the return? It was as if he completed doubted the reason for the return. That makes the customer feel horrible and anyone that's experienced that feeling, knows what I'm talking about. My wife and I (two well dressed adults in our 30s) were made to feel as if we were trying to scam the return, as if we had scratched the glasses and then tried to be sneaky and return them. Upon complaining with the manager, we observed him (from a distance) shrugging his shoulders and laughing about the entire thing, as if the way he acted was a joke. We felt that this was not the way a customer should be treated, especially considering we were going to make additional purchases from him after the exchange. The manager "Fran" was also not helpful as she came back to us shrudly stating that there are two sides to a story suggesting that we may not be explaining the story with 100 percent accuracy. Fran further stated that "she was not standing there so she doesn't know what happen". In customer service and especially in the capacity of a manager, this was not consistent with "the customer is always right" and problem solving our complaint. There are numerous places to shop, numerous Macy's out there. We will absolutely not be back to this location. It's a real shame we had to go through this. My favorite Macy's in New York! Huge free parking lot, Starbucks inside, sometimes this Macy's also give you free coupon for a free Starbucks coffee in that particular Starbucks. Most staffs are helpful and friendly. Store is huge with many designer handbags and shoes. Price scanners are everywhere and most are working! Lots of fitting rooms and never have a line to wait to get in to try something. Store is clean, sometimes the fitting rooms floors are kinda dusty but overall it's the only Macy's I go to. read more

We went here the day after Thanksgiving. We did not have an appointment but we were able to browse and then have someone help us a few minutes later. The woman who helped us was very professional and was very patient as I tried dresses on. Macy's had a good selection, though none of the dresses I tried on were less than $1,000. Note that the store also carries a lot of older dresses. I fell in love with a 2010 dress that I could not find anywhere else. The bridesmaid's dresses were crammed into a back room, so it was hard to see them. They were on the more costly side (at least $200 each). However, that being said, I have friends that were able to use Macy's coupons towards the purchases of the dresses. Overall, it's worth checking out. read more

I have been using makeup artist Kavita Murlee for over 10 years . She is an incredible make up artist who does spectacular work. She is very informative and will guide through the product. She just doesn't do your make up and make you buy a million products. She helps you figure out what is a good fit for your skin, daily work look and night glam. We need more make up artists like this , that will make you feel like a million bucks when you walk out of the store. I used to come to this Macy's when it was an A&S and I was a preschooler, and it sold cookies. So I ended up here with an appointment in the bridal salon and a confusing mix of nostalgia. The bridal salon wasn't the most aesthetically attractive setup. The carpet was grey, the walls a bland white, and the fluorescent lighting was harsh. The fitting room was awkwardly in the back, but the pedestals and full-length mirrors were on the sales floor, so the sales associate had to help you dress and then walk you out onto the sales floor, where your family gave their opinions. A lot of the dresses were beautiful, but they were completely out of my price range. I hadn't wanted to spend more than $500 on a dress I would only wear once, yet most of their dresses started at $1,000. They were also really not my style- they were traditional WEDDING wedding dresses, with tons of tulle and crinoline and long dragging trains. Most of these skirts literally wouldn't have fit in my small, historic venue. I obviously didn't end up buying my dress here, but I have to say, I really liked the sales associate I worked with (Cat.) She was really polite and helpful, and when I started saying that I was having a small, simple wedding because we'd been together forever, and it just wasn't my vibe, she said she understood completely and came up with a long, formal bridesmaid's dress in white and suggested pinning a brooch to it to make it fancier. I didn't end up getting that dress either, but I did end up stealing the idea, and got a beautiful off-the-rack white dress and a brooch. It's very rare that salespeople in the bridal industry actually listen and are understanding of your decisions to have a low-key wedding. read more

This is an OK Macy's. Being away from a mall and slightly tucked away on Community drive, this Macy's tends to be less crowded and a little more easy going. It isn't so well stocked as other Macy's that I've been to: Roosevelt Field, Herald Square, and even Westchester Mall. read more

What a sad Macys. But unfortunately I've said that about almost every Macy's I've been in lately. It's a large store so I hoped for a large selection of items, but they really didn't have much. Disappointing selection of purses, no summer hats (other than beach hats) and the plus-size section is horrific. I couldn't find one thing there to try on. Not one sales associate ever offered to help or said hello. The parking lot is absolutely enormous, and they don't even bother lighting the back half of it. I couldn't find my way out (I knew there was a side exit from the parking lot but in the dark it was almost impossible to find). I had the WORSE EXPERIENCE today at macys in Manhasset . In the Womens shoe department. It was a total shit show to be polite in words!! There where only two workers on the floor, and I get it not to rush and understand politely how they are short staff. But then another lady came to "help" she was rude and walked away from my elder mom who asked her to check if her shoes had arrived. I got up so upset and talked to her and told her to check and she had the nerve to walk away! I fliped out because how rude can you be!! That wasnt even the worse part there was a BLIND LADY asking for her and all 3 workers refused to help her and there was many clients trying to get someone to help the lady and get someones attention!! Many of us gave our spots for her. And still nobody helped her!!! I saw all 3 of the useless floor sales rep passed by her and ignore her and try and pass on the lady to each other!! I've been coming to this Macy's for years , but it has really fallen off. Between the disorganization of the merchandise and the rude customer service, I don't think I will be returning anymore. Susan in the dress department and her frizzy haired cohort were rude and dismissive when I was returning some items today. Frizz made me walk around the counter for no apparent reason when there was no line, Susan didn't so much as say hello or have a nice day. When I placed my dress in the bag on the counter she all but eye rolled when she told me to "take it out" after I told her I didn't want to come into contact with the dress because the glitter falls off probably profusely (hence why I returned rather than wear). So sad but I guess this is why the department store is bound for extinction !!! read more

More or less your typical Macy's, except its a standalone store. So its nice to avoid the Mall crowds but then again you are stuck in just one store. Besides that I have no complaints except that no one in the mens department seemed to know how to tie a bow tie... long story short I needed help with one and they were of no use. I had to go up to her and ask for assistance. And what if I needed my makeup done or assistance with choosing a foundation? Would she have gotten off that phone call then? This is not the first time I've come to this counter and had an issue. I asked for a specific eyeliner once, they gave me the wrong one. I called about 5 times then the manager told me to just go to the store and they will give me the right one and that I can keep the wrong one that I got. I went to the store, they had no idea what I am talking about and also said I can not return it since it was used. Bought a different eyeliner from Chanel and it stopped working after 2 weeks so I came to exchange it and they said I could not exchange it because the card is on my parent's name and they are "protecting my father's account". right... Why is it so impossible to speak to someone in the women's department? Every time I call it has a list of departments. I tried 15 of them. It puts you on a silent hold and says that nobody is available. They should just have an option 0 so you can speak with anybody in the store.
