I am between sizes. There was a good sale. I ordered online. I ordered ALOT online. Several packages arrived. Everything was packed nicely. I tried clothes on and decided what to keep. I used a carry on to get all the items to Macy's. I came in on the 2nd floor. Immediately to my left was online pick up and returns. No receipt required just my credit card. The register was able to match my credit card to the items. I thought that was kind of cool. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Great service. read more

She was able to keep her poise, even though the woman in line behind me was bad mouthing her about how incompetent she was. In my opinion the cashier was more than professional. For many years, I have occasionally shopped at this Macy's store in Ross Park Mall. During my most recent visit, I shopped mostly in the women's section. I saw designer brands such as Calvin Klein and name brands such as Levi's and Nike. The store was having a holiday sale, and most merchandise was discounted. I chose a pair of jean shorts on sale for 40%-off and a shirt on clearance for $5. The cashier did not look enthusiastic, but he promptly rang up my purchase and thanked me. At home, I tried on the two articles of clothing. The jean shorts fit pefectly. The shirt, though, had a large fit in the shoulders and a cropped length. Stopped by to see if they had anything on sale that I liked. Tried on a few things but this wasn't the day for me. Too bad because no tax on clothing and shoes in Pennsylvania. I am wavering between 2 and 3 rating. I want to give it a 2 but on the other hand their displays were nice. So 3 it is. BUT, I arrived shortly after opening and their women's dressing rooms!!!! Clearly they had not been cleaned for days, maybe even weeks. There was grime on the floor and dustballs the size of half my hand. It was an immediate turn off. While I'm not a frequent Macy's shopper, I have started to visit a couple times a year. Ross Park Mall has been my go to mall since the 90s. But as anyone who's shopped there over the decades can tell you it has changed as more upscale/expensive stores have moved in. I still enjoy seeing it decorated for the holidays, browsing, or picking up something from the dwindling food court options, and do most of my shopping at more affordable stores like Kohl's. However I must say the holiday sales at Macy's, either Black Friday or the Friends and Family sale, have caught my attention the last couple years. Last year I picked up some cologne from their sizable fragrance department. One lady claimed they didn't have any open bottles for sample sprays at her station and didn't seem willing to make another available to try, so I moved on. The second was be try friendly and took me all around to anything I was curious about, and I left with two different bottles. This year I was in the market for new winter wear, something waterproof and warm. I ended up with a Tommy Hilfiger jacket and a Calvin Klein coat. Both together would normally have been $375, too much for me. But one sale just $140 saving me $235! The store is spacious and usually better organized than other clothing outlets with things thrown everywhere after aggressive shoppers move through. read more

Got some good deals on toys and children's clothes for Christmas. They have a good selection of toys with decent sales except a lot of products have no price tag on them and there aren't any associates around usually to do a price check or a self- scanner kiosk. There are only carts in Macy's backstage, no carts or totes anywhere else so if they want people to buy more than just what they can carry they should offer a way to hold more items. I started using a reusable purchasable tote from the toys r us section when I got so many items that I was dropping them. And employee who looked like a manager told me it was a clever idea and I told her I really need a cart because I plan on getting more. She said they have one at Macy's backstage (which I was a little too far from to comfortably carry the items I had) and as I was about to ask her if I could take one around the corner (that had hangers in it so maybe an employee was using it or it was just abandoned), she walked away. Didn't bother to conclude the conversation with me or offer to get me a cart for my convenience as the shopper. Seems like the only employees who want to help are the makeup associates (when they're there, otherwise you have to hunt someone down) who borderline harass you as you're walking by as if they're working for commission. At the backstage checkout there was 1 cashier who took 20 min to ring up my purchases. He was very nice and personable but said he was new there and was from another country so I think there was a language barrier too. There were BOGO deals and %off deals which he thought for some reason needed to be dealt with in 4 SEPARATE transactions, although he was ringing up items from both sales within the same transaction. I ended up putting my phone number in and credit card in 4 separate times. Also he did not bag the items as he went along so everything was out on the counter and it was hard to keep track of what he did and didn't scan. At one point an older male employee came over and my cashier told him he needed help in his area and he said "oh well they won't let me" and I said in front of him "can this all be done in the same transaction" on the last transaction hoping he would notice that that wasn't happening in the first place. He did nothing and didn't offer advice or to help or to find someone to help him- nothing. This 20- minute transaction I did not have time for should have been done in 5 minutes or less. The icing on the cake was that I had 4 medium sized paper bags of items and I parked at Nordstrom (my mistake) and 2 of the bags were ripping on my way to the car and one finally broke on me in the parking lot. Good price and good name brand items but overall very bad customer service experience at Macy's. read more

I stopped into Macy's for 3 dress shirts and a tie after waisting my time at Jcpenney and Nordtrom. Macy's has a huge men's section with lots of brands and tons of selection. I looked around for about 10-15 minutes and did not see any sales help at all only 2 cashiers. I waited till one of the cashiers where done and asked for help. The sales man was very friendly and helpful and seemed very knowledgable about the merchandise in his department. I told him I needed 3 dress shirts and a tie for a wedding. He suggested Calvin Klein which he found right away in my size and then he showed me ties . I ended up getting 3 Calvin Klein shirts and a Tommy Hillfiger tie. Not only was everything 30% off but the sales man also used a special holiday code which saved me an additional 30%. All though Macy's could use more sales help once I did get help I was extremely happy. If you are going to the mall and need mens clothing dress or otherwise make Macy's your first stop as they are definitely worth it. I will definitely be going back to Macy's in the future. read more

Why does it seems that a majority of the sales items are not really sales prices? And why does the selection feel like it is stuck in the late 90s? I've never understood the layout of this store. It's so confusing, I wish that if you are going to force me to walk through your mists of colognes and perfumes that I should get a reward for doing so. As far as the clothing, I know women comprise a majority of your shoppers, but don't make me go on a scavenger hunt to find your mens department. This location has not only the best men's Polo Ralph Lauren selection in Pittsburgh, but the best customer service as well! I am the label whore in my family and pretty much only wear Polo Ralph Lauren so I find myself at this Macy's quite often. On a recent trip I purchase an item that was 50% and the cashier asked if I had any coupons which I did not and she went and found a 25% off coupon which saved me an additional $150.00 off the item. I found another of the same item at the Monroeville Mall location that was half off as well and when I asked about a coupon the cashier said that she didn't have any and made no effort to find one for me to use. She just could not care less. I purchased the item and went all the way back out to the Ross Park location and found the same cashier that offered me a 25% coupon and she went and looked for about 10 minutes until she found another 25% coupon and made a price adjustment to take the $150.00 off of the item. Bought a mattress and was not told the warranty would not be good if the bed frame did not have a center support. Within a year, my mattress has sunk horribly and now they will not honor warranty. Apparently, this happens a lot because the guy who came to review the sinkage said customers are not told about the center support issue (litteraly a stick under one of the slats) and the replacement is denied. read more

My wife and I went to this store to find a dress for her for our daughters wedding. Found one, opened a new acct and told she gets 20% that purchase and next day. Well she went online, found a few items to go with her dress, and tried to check out....complete frustrating bullshit. No cc # on receipt or cc appl, no expiration date, things needed to make the purchase and get the discount. Tried calling macys and for 2 hours no response, just more customer UNFRIENDLY automated nonsense. No help whatsoever. Complete nonsense! Returning the items and immediately cancelling macys card. Customer service? NONE. ZERO. Terrible company that treats customers like trash when trying to spend their money on macys products. Never again. Done. I never thought I could write a review for Macy's in a positive light, but today proved me wrong! My son and I went to the men's department at Macy's at Ross Park Mall. Donald, Pia and two other gentlemen (sadly I wish I could remember their names!) found four great outfits for my son to start his internship. It was a pretty slow afternoon in the store today around 2:00 pm. I was bothering each of them at any given time so I could hurry and find what we need. Oh Macy's, I have a love-hate relationship with you. When it's good, it's awesome, and then something bad always seems to put a damper on my parade. I just want my experience to always be like the good times! I will say the upper management here is fantastic. My boyfriend had brought a watch in he bought for me there for my birthday to have 2 links removed. When he came to get it, the lady has removed 3 links. For what reason? No idea. 3 links was too much, so we brought it back to have a link added back on. As the guy was fixing it my entire watch fell apart! So we figured whatever the lady did to it when she "had" to take out 3 links was the reason that happened. I wrote Macy's because they should know if someone is not doing their job correctly, and that they had an unhappy customer. The manager of the store personally called me to apologize and fix the situation and that really blew me away! I work in customer service so I see and appreciate it when someone goes above and beyond. I wish all employees there would react like she did! Well that warm and fuzzy feeling only lasted so long. Between being ignored in certain designer sections, to impersonable service, Macy's is just not consistent. This Macy's is one of the anchor stores of Ross Park mall. Since there is another high class competitor in this mall they usually carry the same items and you will find more selection here than at other Macy's stores. I normally do not travel to this one unless I need something from another store in this mall. On this particular visit my friend needed jeans and I needed some tops for an upcoming trip. The place wasn't overly crowded but clothes were everywhere and it was hard to tell what is on sale. They do have a price checker at certain areas to verify the cost and of course having coupons always helps. We were fortunate on this visit that I needed an item pulled from a mannequin and my girlfriend needed a top that wasn't in her size. A clerk was kind enough to get me the sweater and then when we went to check out they did call a neighboring Macy's for my friend for her top. They had it in stock and tomorrow I will go there to pick it up. Macy's can be expensive depending on the line you are purchasing but you can get good sales if you look hard enough. My impression is that most of the merchandise is picked over from Easter and probably won't have much more until they start summer clearance Again the big drawback for me at this mall is parking which can be virtually impossible unless you go on a weekday and even then it can be problematic. The place is clean and easy to follow signs to locate the various departments. I will visit this store again if I'm in the area. read more

I was recently in the jewelry department looking for 2 gifts. To start, there were only 3 people working (from what I saw) and they were all in the same bay. I walked around, spotted something I had a question about and patiently waited behind an elder couple that was checking out. NOONE ELSE IS IN LINE OR LOOKING AT JEWELRY BY US! So, the cashier looks up passed the couple and we literally make eye contact and she continues ringing them out. The other 2 workers (an Indian woman and an Asian woman) are on the other end working with 2 other gentlemen with something. The cashier I'm waiting for finishes up with the couple in front of me, makes eye contact again and LITERALLY WALKS AWAY & goes over to where the other 2 workers are. At this point, I'm like, I can be very loud and disrespectful or I can kill her with my pettiness. Mind you, the other 2 ladies didnt need any help as they both were wrapping up what they were doing. This cashier goes over and starts helping the gentlemen that the one other worker was working with! So I follow her over there, like "BOOOM IM STILL HERE HONEY!!!" She makes eye contact with me again and quickly turns her head. The Asian lady came over as soon as she was finished and greeted me with a smile and a warm welcome. I asked about the jewelry I was looking for and she was super helpful. I thanked her and threw some shade at the other blonde woman. Don't ignore your customers. I like the selection available at Macy's. However, what's really frustrates me when shopping for clothes is looking for sizes! I was shopping for swim suits, and many of the sizes printed on the hangars didn't match the actual size of the item. And most of the size tags were hanging inside the item instead of on the outside where they would have been easier to find. It took me so much longer to shop because of rummaging around trying to locate the size I needed. It would be SO helpful if they could come up with a system of easily readable size tags and hangar designations. read more

We ordered an expensive set of Zwilling Henckels (made in Spain & Germany) 15 piece knife set online and chose to pick-up at the Ross Park Mall Store. I went to pick it up and there was no one at the desk for over 15 minutes. Then a kind associate offered to help and gave me the package. Upon coming home, we noticed that the package had been opened, used, returned with a missing item and one of the knifes was heavily used from another set made in China. To add insult to injury, the customer service reps at Macys.com were really awful. They read a script and apologized so easily, not for a moment acknowledging the lost time and asked that we return it to the store and deal with the representative there. They sold us a used, incomplete, returned, unsaleable item and then put us in a position to waste more time tomorrow going back to the store and explaining this all over again. Please check your items before you leave the store and don't expect the item to be new when you shop at Macy's. Update: I went this morning to the store to meet the manager and was pleasantly surprised to meet a highly dedicated Sales Lead in the Men's Department (not Home) who took it upon himself to fix the problem and offer to make up for the problem. Andre was so professional and courteous that I ended up buying two suits and 5 shirts with his help. Macy's management should reward people like Andre and drop the overseas Call Centers who do have have the same ethic or any idea how to talk to customers other than parrot, "I apologize...". read more

This review is specifically for the perfume department! Teenagers and millennials have a bad rep for being lazy for some reason, but I have never seen a retail employee with less will to do their jobs than the baby boomers+ who work in the perfume department. If I check out at any other spot in the store, they are always helpful and can take care of issues, even if the product I am buying is from another department. On my latest trip in, I picked up a baby item that didn't have the sale sticker on it, so I simply grabbed the same item in a size up that included a sticker. When I went to check out, the women had an, "Oh yeah. I guess we can check you out," attitude as they GOSSIPED about the couple they were helping before me. I explained that I had two of the same dress so that they would have the right barcode to scan and they immediately said, "Oh that's not our department, they have to help you upstairs." I had a whole pile of stuff to purchase. My toddler was over shopping and I wasn't going to drag him back to the back of the store and take the elevator back up to where I was before. We left everything. I'll just buy my baby the dress at one of the other 4,000 local spots that sell Carter's. read more

I recently had an interaction with someone from your customer service department. I had ordered a pair of shoes online however, when they arrived they were the wrong size. I was told there was an issue with my order receipt after I had made an attempt to return the shoes in one of the local department stores. I then called your customer service department and even though I do not remember her name, she was one of the best customer service representatives I have spoken to. I explained to her my dilemma and she looked up my order and then she talked me through all the possible scenarios that could be the reason why I was not able to return the shoes in store. She offered to call the department store I made the return attempt at and told them to accept the return. After that, she then contacted other Macy's store within the surrounding 50 miles and had them ship the correct size to my local store so that I would not have to wait any longer. I believe she went above and beyond my expectations of a customer service representative and made the whole experience pleasant. After ending my phone call with her, I felt relieved about the entire situation and knew that everything had been properly taken care of. This also made me a life-time Macy's customer as it showed me that the staff really does care about the customer's satisfaction. read more

I just had the most satisfying experience at Macy's Ross Park Mall because of sales associate Rochelle. I was looking for a special gift for friends and was a little lost finding my way to the gift towel section. Rochelle made eye contact with me and in the most professional and friendly manner guided me throughout my shopping experience. There were so many options that it could have been overwhelming - but Rochelle made my experience easy. She was knowledgeable, patient, and made me really appreciate shopping at Macy's. While shopping in Macy's in the Pittsburgh Ross Park location I decided to go on my usual routine around the store and decided to stop at Finish Line to look at some shoes I seen on display. Customer service is very important in helping my experience and decision on buying an item and one of the workers there, Jenell exceeded all expectations in helping me! As I was walking around the store, workers were sitting and gossiping and paying little to no attention to my presence which almost made me want to leave and never come back until Jenell came over with a positive and welcoming attitude and apologizing on behalf of her coworkers. Went to Macy's today. The cashier was not very friendly. Macy's sent me coupons for the items I was buying. Read all of the fine print, nothing I bought was excluded from the coupon. Coupons didn't ring out, the cashier told me if I had a problem to call customer service, refused to get someone to assist. After 5 phone calls, I was told I had to speak to the manager at the store for correction. It took me calling 3 times to be transferred to the manager, to only get a voicemail! What a waste of time! On July 20th I went bra shopping. I stopped at the usual Victoria's Secert to be told they didn't have my size, then to Soma,--where only two bras were available for me. Next, I went to Penney's where there were no sales associates around and I gave up after about five minutes of waiting. Within minutes of entering the intimates department of Macy's I was approached by a sales associate, she measured me, and took time with me to find different brands and styles that worked. She would bring me different styles, sizes, etc. to try on. She was so knowledageable about bras. She taught me things that I did not know. I was so impressed! I never experienced a better bra shopping session, even at a lingerie store. She spent a lot of time making sure that I got the right fit and was comfortable. What was even more impressing is how she helped me save money. She informed me about a coupon and about re opening my macy's charge. In the end I saved over 100.00!!! I was so happy. She is what all costumer service should be like! Caring, compassionate, down to earth, friendly, and knowledgeable in the department. I am extremely impressed and will be returning there in the future as well as reccommending Macy's to friends! read more
