Woah! Macy's in Toledo is in poor condition to say the least. The carpet is very dirty. Most spots are black with most areas ripped up. The sales and selection wasn't what we were expecting. Prices were high and some of the clothing wasn't that great. Would come here if you are looking for a nice dress clothes, but not for everyday wear. Very disappointed in the Toledo Macy's. read more

This chain used to be one of the best , now just a cut above K Mart. That is what I think anyway, never shopped for clothes at K Mart. Shopping for those change of gifts ( they did not want what they wrote on the list), The dept assistance is little to none. I found an item and had to walk around the store to see how much it was. No price any wear on the item. Finally I found someone . Looks like they scaled down on customer service here. I am glad I do not shop her on a regular basis. read more

I had called yesterday for some regarding a jewelry purchase. I had spoken with a woman from Macys online that wasn't very helpful. I had called in to my local store and received excellent service from one of the managers Mary. She listened to my concerns and wanted to help out. i had been dealing with this issue for a few weeks being told different things from the online and reached out to the brick store because I had boughten other fine jewelry as well. I always had great experiences to get the best deal. Mary was able to solve my complaint and fix the things I had questioned before. I appreciate her extra willingness to help a customer out. she was very patient and wanted to get my complaint fixed. I really appreciate what Mary was able to help with. I'm proud to say I'm lucky to have with a good manager like Mary that wanted to help resolve the issue. I'm glad knowing that customer service still exists. read more

The customer service at the jewelry counter this evening was truly terrible. I wanted to purchase some simple diamond studs. The sales clerk kept her back to me until I got her attention. When she finally turned around, Sylvia "didn't know" anything about the brand, the cut or anything else I asked about. She treated me as if she had better things to do, and there weren't any other customers during that time. There really isn't any excuse for this behavior, she was just unduly rude and represented Macy's abhorrently. I've decided to return my purchase, removed myself from their email list and to shop only at retailers whose staff take pride in themselves and are capable of providing good customer service. This wasn't my first unpleasant interaction at Macy's...but was certainly my last. read more

They can do a better job with who they are hiring. I'm not saying this about everybody; some of the ladies are tolerable. They hired an insufferable Indian lady. She is new here I believe, or a temp. If you exhibit any form of absent mindless, watch out. I was using my card for something, not realizing I could the info on the card machine. She emphasized to me the most obvious thing as if I am intellectually disabled, or utterly clueless. Not to to do whatever. I told her I am aware and she insisted and that if I knew I would not give whatever info. I was scattered that day and did not know I did not have to give the info verbally. I cannot agree with what she did, as a grown person. When I told her I know, she should of ended the argument. She has a hard time biting her tongue; this Indian woman could not stop running her mouth if her life depended on it. I prefer she gets fired, so I would not have to deal with her. I do not care if others see see her as the sweetest person ever. I do not care how competent she is. She cannot tear people like they're intellectually disabled just because of her assumption. The other people at Macy's are polite and helpful. But if you ever get the Indian woman, be careful what you do- Or you will be subject to her ridicule and pity. Think things through. I do not care if they keep her, but I do not want tO do business with her again. read more

Tis the season to be shopping. Too bad this Macy's is the worst of the worst. Still living in the juniors section, I was appalled to find out that the juniors section meant a few measly racks of clothes that can be found in a Hot Topic near you! Thank goodness for the BCBG that is partnered with Macy's -- the sole redeeming factor. Not only is this Macy's lacking in the availability of styles when it comes to clothes, the shoes department isn't all that stellar either. Styles that have long gone out of fashion are still being displayed for reasons that are beyond me. (Do people just not shop here?!) And to think that I was never once appreciative of having lived within a 5-mile radius of THREE bigger, nicer, and better Macy's. read more

At checkout, we were told that the blue one was a clearance color and would not count toward the sale. If this was the case, why was it in the groupings for the One Day Sale? I used to shop in Macy's quite often, but the other week we had a bad experience. My daughters were visiting from England, so we went shopping. One of my daughters wanted to look at a Michael Korrs purse, and of course you have to get a member of staff to come and unlock the stand. This sale assistant came over, really put out that she had to do something. My daughter decides to buy the purse (It was expensive too). The sales assistant got extremely stroppy because I asked about coupons, nearly bit my head off, apparently Michael Korrs does'nt do coupons, even though I was merely stating that last time one of the assistants had looked through some coupons for us. I would have told her to shove the bag, but my daughter wanted it because it was far cheaper here than in England. As for myself, I shan't ever set foot in there again. I expect common decency and manners when spending my money. I'm sure Amazon will welcome me and my purse. This is why Amazon is taking over, no stroppy ill mannered assistants to put a damper on your shopping spree. read more

Poor customer service. Don't think for a second those girls that work over by the BCBG line will cash you out of your not buying their line. They won't even acknowledge you. One cashier in the area over whelmed by a customer trying to use coupons in their uber selective coupon scam. Clothing line in this store is for the older shopper. Setting no trends here. read more

WORST MAC COSMETICS STORE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since MAC does not have a Yelp for this location, I had to write it on Macy's because it is located inside of their store. I LOVE Macy's, just not their MAC location. I visited the MAC Cosmetics location on Saturday, 10/29/16. I scheduled an appointment for 12pm noon. I was running late (as I am from out of town and got lost driving) I called to let them know that I would be about 10 min late. They said "ok, thanks for letting us know." I arrived at 12:15 (had to park) and stood in line waiting for assistance. There was 1 person in front of me being helped by the lady at the cash register. There were 2 make up artist working that I saw. One was a man dressed up in Halloween make up and the other was an African American lady (Crystal I believe was her name). It took Crystal 8 min to ask me if I needed any help. I told her I had an appt. and called to say I would be running late. She said ok and told me to take a seat. She asked what I needed done that day and I told her I was in a wedding party and the look I was going for. She gave me feedback, we both agreed and she then went to get products so we could start. She came back 5 min later, (at this point it is 12:33pm) and started to clean my face. The phone rang, she went to answer it. She came back and began telling me a story of how whoever was on the phone, was cursing her out and saying that she was sleeping with her boyfriend. I just listened in awe that she would even be explaining this to me, a customer. She then went to the mirror to fix her hair because she was wearing a hat. The phone rang again, she went to answer it. Then customers started coming into the store. I think the other woman who was working there (Corta I believe is her name who was also the manager on duty, and pregnant) had stepped out for a moment so it's just Crystal (whose suppose to be doing my makeup) and the guy who was doing another customers make up. Crystal stepped away from me 4 times, to deal with other guest, the phone ringing, etc. When she finally came back to me, she started doing my eye shadow and telling me how beautiful it looked. When she let me see it, it was as if she had done nothing at all. The eye shadow was very light, almost as if there was none on my eyes. I told her I didn't really see much. She did them again. Still looked like nothing had been done. At this point, I asked her to make them darker and let her know that I was on a time restraint. Yes I was 15 min late, which is totally my fault. However, she didn't have the time to fully commit to me as she was trying to take care of me and every other customer who came in. It's now 12:50pm and I told her I needed to be gone by 1:15 at the latest. I told her she wasn't committed to me and that it sucked. She told me "yeah, that's how it is." What?! I've gotten my makeup done by MAC numerous times and have never been told that or been left while the artist dealt with other guest. At 1:15pm, she'd done my eye shadow and clumped up my eyelashes. I told her I didn't like it. She then asked "what else can I do for you?" I told her nothing, as I had to go and would just pay for some foundation. As I'm paying for the foundation, the manager is now back in the store. I explained to her what happened, and she says "I'm sorry." Then says "can you swipe your card again." At this point I'm beyond upset. I'm trying to explain to her a terrible situation that just cost me time, and the only thing she was concerned about was taking my money?! I'm not from Ohio, but that store should be shut down. The make up artist (if that's what you can call her) should be fired. She clearly doesn't know how to do make up, let alone be professional and not tell me her "boyfriend drama. I've tried reaching out to Macy's management as I was told they are who I need to speak with for a complaint but no one answered the phone. I plan on putting this on Macy's Facebook page, as well as calling MAC Corporate Offices. People need to know that this location is anything but professional and useful!!!! read more
