We agreed to a free estimate after someone knocked on our door claiming they were doing a job nearby and wanted to see if we were interested. We are replacing our windows soon so my husband agreed to an appointment. He showed up an hour late. My husband called the number the first guy left to cancel after waiting 40 minutes and it wasn't a valid number. He looked up the company online and called the number listed. They told him appointments can't be cancelled. The salesman showed up shortly after that call. He said he had gotten pulled over for the tint on his windows. (The salesman was a friendly guy and I have no issues with him personally, but the awful company.) We assumed this would be a quick appointment where we would talk options and they'd take measurements. We were unfortunately very wrong. He was at our house for over 3 hours. We kept mentioning we needed to get our child to bed but he kept on talking. By the time he finally started talking about prices, the quote was over $27,000 for 5 windows. Our neighbor was recently quoted around $6,000 (installed) from a different company for similar windows. He quickly started knocking down the price with different options like us putting an advertisement sign in our yard or leaving a positive google review before we even purchased anything. (Hence all the good reviews on Google.) He talked about financing options but couldn't tell us what the actual interest rate was. He claimed they only had one really long term financing option because that's the one people chose most often. He attempted to call his manager and get us the "friends and family price" of 15k but my husband stopped him. The salesman himself was friendly and was simply doing what he was, unfortunately, trained to do. He was polite and did leave after we confirmed we were not interested. This company is utilizing what I would compare to pushy timeshare style sales tactics. It was very predatory. If they approach you, run. read more
