All the staff were super friendly & the service was quick despite it being a Friday around noon. I got the Mad Daddy which had Mac and cheese, bacon, crispy onions & jalapeños! Soooo good, I couldn't believe the combinations they have to choose from! Love that it's in the heart of Comstock park, I will definitely be back & be bringing others to try when they come to town!

Okay.... This place is legit. Our hot dogs were sooooooooooooo good! The people working that day were very friendly. They do have seating, but it's a small place, so only a handful of tables. When we got there, we were the only people there, but shortly after, it was very busy. I'll DEFINITELY be going back!

Best Chicago dogs I've ever had thus far in Michigan !! Friendly service and clean establishment as well. When you have local first responders dine in and rave about the place and food , you know the place Is great . Highly recommended!!

Came here for a live music performance for a friend and found a gem! Table's biggest hit was the…read moreKing Louie Fries which were their seasoned crinkle cut fries with melted cheese, shaved beef, and giardiniera peppers. I think the Chicago dog and the Italian Beef with the au jus on the side were solid, but nothing to write back home to Chicago about. Better than Portillo's, kind of reminded me of Mr. Beef almost. Getting the sandwich wet is usually the rite of passage, but I went for the au jus on the side. Don't make the mistake I did. Everything just falls out of it when you tilt the sandwich to dip it. Also, if you think you can eat hot giardiniera peppers, just think for a quick sec longer because these ones were pretty hot for someone who has a decent heat tolerance.

I ordered the chili cheese, Polish sausage and the chili cheese fries. The presentation is as good…read moreas it can be for this type of food and they did a nice job with keeping the menu basic and simple. The taste of the Polish dog was good. the bun was soft. It was portioned correctly. It just was very bland compared to what else you can get in Grand Rapids. The chili cheese fries also were not horrible but I wanna say they were great. It is just gas station cheese and chili from a can. Again, not horrible just nothing special. Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend this place but I also want to steer someone away either especially if you are drunk and at the bar across the street. I'm sure it tastes much better. That being said, I think it's a perfect restaurant for its location. There is not a ton of competition directly next-door or across the street. And technically, the Bar across the street has food of a similar quality however it is a nice alternative It's up to you. There's much better places in town for hotdog however, I would give the spot another shot to try the Italian beef. I have heard it is not excellent, but I have not had it Personally.

First of all, I'm not usually one to review food from my own hometown. Much like a sweet food made…read morefrom fruit and sugar boiled to thick constancy that doesn't belong to me, it's not my jam. But I'm beginning to think it's one thing to review a local eatery that isn't your typical franchise owned restaurant just might not be a bad idea. I saw this place open up late summer and logged it away in the Restaurants I Want to Try (But Will Probably Forget About) folder. Well guess what. I remembered. The real reason is partly because I was introduced to a real Chicago dog while on a food trip in the Windy City. So now was my opportunity to try a Chicago dog from somewhere NOT Chicago. Also, I saw they served Italian beefs. Or is it beeves? And we all know I'm an 18th century street walker for some Italian beeves. Its location is pretty spot on for a place like this. Lakeside, is what it's called. The area. Not the restaurant. Pay attention. Inside is spacious and clean. Plenty of booths (boofs? Booves?) for hotdog consumption. It's an order at the counter type of place. Classic restaurant. I ordered a Chi Dog with a side of chili cheese fries. Did you see the photos of that dog? It tastes exactly like it looked. Like magic. Dog, tomato slice, pickle spear, sports peppers, relish, mustard. I grew WAY up since just ketchup. But I still haven't grown out of eating cold hotdogs. Nothing beats a midnight snack of a cold dog. Anyways. This thing is a beast. Not for the faint of heart or tiny of mouth. This is one of those dogs that once you start eating, you can't put it down because it's just so messy. In a beautiful way. True story coming up, my first bite launched my pickle spear out the tail end of my dog. I might lie about a lot of things, but never the evacuation of a pickle from a hotdog. If you like Chicago or hotdogs or food or things in general, get this dog. My side order of chili cheese fries looked like something out of an art gallery. They used crinkle cut fries, which are god tier fries. They also loaded it up with chili, which I feel everybody else usually lacks what the "proper" amount of chili is. But I will sadly have to dock a point or two for Chili Flavor. It seemed to lack a little bit of...something. It tasted better than plain ground beef, but something a little under chili. It wasn't bad at all. It's meat and cheese on fries. They were more Chili Adjacent Cheese Fries.
