Mad Mark's serves food that is consistent, hearty, and affordable. Their ribs, steaks, and burgers aren't the highest quality, but the value proposition of what's on Mad Mark's menu is undeniable. That said, the menu is somewhat limited, so I've fallen into the habit of ordering the handful of dishes here that suit me the best. Over and above Mad Mark's Carnivore's fare, I've heard their ice cream is excellent, but we're almost always so stuffed after a meal here that dessert hasn't happened yet - next time, for sure! ;-) While the service isn't outstanding, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly; they're certainly helpful enough when it comes to MM's food. Dang. Been a minute to Mad Mark's. Their menu got tons of new entrees. I went with their Imperial Curry. Was good, but I'm ordering this next time for sure... Bulgogi, Veggies, and Poached Egg over Brown Rice. Great for a post workout meal. Cleaner than a cup full of white rice for sure. I've been going to this place since 2012. I do miss the simplicity of their menu back then; especially when they had their Creole Chicken portion of 200g for only P175. I somewhat got turned off by its pricing and portion last time I visited them late last year. But, seeing that Bulgogi entree, I'll give them another chance on the main entree front. As far as dessert, you can always get it before vs after! There's no rule against it, and they're ice cream is always on point. The premise is looking quite fancy too; at least in the back area. The front area where the cashiers are is quite packed. They have a machine blocking most of what use to be the dining area, near the door. Regarding the staff, friendly and helpful as always. The Philippines is a hot place. Ice cream, naturally is found all over the Metro, sometimes on a stick, sometimes in a hotdog bun, sometimes in a bowl. If ice cream comes your way from Mad Mark's, definitely give it a try. We were only here for dessert, so I can't really comment on how the actual food is. It's actually a great place to take a sweet nightcap after an evening of Kapitolyo food tripping since the staff is extremely friendly and super game to let you try their exotic flavors, the space is casual and cozy, and it just as an overall comfortable vibe. My friend and I split the Liquid Cheesecake, which is essentially a hot graham-cracker crust a la mode with strawberry compote. The ice cream we chose to go along with it was the pecan. As a southern boy, I was expecting something extremely cloying and sweet, but I was surprised with how light and delicate the pecan flavor was against a vanilla base. It was perfect with the cheesecake. Our friends opted for a single scoop of the chocolate-on-chocolate and the size for a single was also definitely for sharing and their selection was delicious as well. I ordered the half-baked madagascar and you know what I can't even remember. This place has good ice cream but they didn't have all the flavours available. They let you try whatever you want. I also ask a lot of questions like what their favourite flavor is and why, what recommendations they have, and I ask a description of the ice cream flavour. I can't help it. I want to know that they know their product. And they did. They are easy to talk to. Anyways, the ice cream itself is good I would go back here again to try the different flavours. The first time a friend brought me to Mad Mark's, she ordered us some Zing Wings and a man sandwich. "What the hell is a man sandwich?" I thought. Apparently, it was this gargantuan, 10" sandwich with grilled cheese, Angus beef, veggies, and special cheese sauce. Hooooly hell. SO YUMMY. We split one between the two of us, and I had expected us to put all of that away easily. But no, we each had a quarter of the whole sandwich, and gave up. It is THAT PACKED. Now, the Zing Wings, I would say would be in my top 5 favorite local buffalo wings recipes, because it gives me the perfect amount of sourness. It isn't saucy and messy, but it isn't dry either. The milky base tasted a lot like my nighttime glass of Nido as a kid, and the pecans a lot like the chopped walnuts in my favorite homemade cookies around the same time. I didn't really mind the wait since I've heard so much good things about the place and I knew it was worth it. I didn't get disappointed too! I was able to try their Bootstrap Steak and their Hotlanta. For the price I paid for what I got, the steak tasted good and it was cooked the way I wanted it. The Bootstrap sauce definitely made a difference too. It was really yummy! I also loved their Hotlanta! It's a Creole spiced breaded chicken fillet that's fried to perfection and smothered in Bacon cream. It is served with their Smashed Potatoes and Coleslaw. It's comfort food at the top level. I enjoyed this dish a lot. Everything tasted so well together! For dessert, I had their Madagascar Vanilla Ice Cream. It would be a crime to leave without trying their ice cream! I have a small mouth and it's a big problem. Despite being a voracious eater, I actually can't fit a lot in my food hole. My jaws also don't go very wide, giving me a huge problem when faced with large portions of food that can't or shouldn't be cut into pieces. One of my greatest challenges yet was Mad Marks MAN SANDWICH, which, even halved, barely fits in my mouth. Only heathen chop up sandwiches, so I was forced to contort my head at every angle and attempt to dislodge my jaw to make it fit. Eventually, I was able to nip just enough off the top to make a bigger bite more manageable, and I was finally able to relax--though my face still had a workout on its jaw. Luckily, the chicken and beef sandwich checked all the boxes of a great meal, and their assortment of steaks and grilled meats also looked delicious.
