Any apple dessert is my favorite dessert, so naturally this apple pie ice cream is my favorite. But honestly this ice cream is just so good I can't imagine not liking any of them. Sure I have preferences but it's all homemade, freshly made, old fashioned, extra creamy, top quality ice cream -- you just can't go wrong. They have all your classic flavors covered, of course, and even plain strawberry or vanilla will have you thinking nothing could taste better. Some of my other favorite flavors are the caramel pecan cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, and pumpkin chocolate chip. Clearly I'm a fan of baked goods.. We had a great first experience here! We were looking for an actual sit down ice cream shop in the area and this popped up. We were very pleasantly surprised. They had a steady flow of customers which is always a good sign. The two that were working behind the counter were very nice and friendly. They were working super hard and were still really nice. This place was sort of a bust on my recent trip to Ft. Worth. My best friend and I waited until our 3rd day to decide on a place and finally visit thinking maybe this is the best Ft. Worth has to offee. Unfortunately, I wish we had actually tried somewhere else instead. Upon arriving, I sampled the snickers ice cream and it was okay, but I was thinking to myself, I kinda like the snickers ice cream bars better. Second, I sampled the fudge brownie and it was not so good. It has zero texture, no brownie chunks, just an ice cream that appears visually like a dutch vanilla, but they call it "Fudge Brownie"? I just settled on the banana without even sampling it, but the color was quite white and almost looked and tasted like homemade vanilla. Needless to say, I didn't like that one either. It was far from other banana ice cream flavors I've tried across the US. It just didn't have a very pronounced banana flavor at all. Now the weird/gross part--- There were 4 of us, and luckily I received help from the girl who was working. One of my boys and my husband received help from a younger boy. Was super excited to try this place and finally found a night for the whole family to go. Extraordinary staff. The young man that was working was so polite and friendly, offering samples and to answer any questions. My daughter had raspberry chip which had a decent raspberry flavor to it. I had lemon crunch. They changed their base vanilla, and it makes the ice cream taste like it has cinnamon in it. I always order the chocolate, but now it tastes horrible. My husband and I went to Mad Mike's ice cream on a date night... Little did we know that our date night would last all through the night. My husband was violently vomiting from 4 AM to 8 AM and had to get an IV to rehydrate himself, the milkshake that he had from Mad Mike's tasted "funny " to him and when I tasted it, I told him to throw that away because something is wrong with it. The next day I called Mad Mike's ice cream and the employee on the phone told me that they use a bleach solution to clean their metal cups that they make milkshakes with and that my husband probably drink bleach I asked for the manager to call me and never received a call back. If you go here, I would not recommend getting a milkshake, you might be DRINKING BLEACH!!! read more

I love that this place is open in the evenings. When I came it was packed with high school students, however the customer service was quick and the price was decent. Mad Mike's makes their icecream in house and one bite of the icecream makes this apparent. I ordered one scoop of the sea salt caramel in a waffle cone. The sea salt caramel was bursting with flavor, a good balance of sweet and salty. The waffle cone was crunchy and full of flavor. The icecream placeholder came in handy. I was randomly in south Arlington with a craving for ice cream (but honestly, I have a craving for ice cream almost constantly) and pulled up good ol' reliable Yelp for recommendations. Well, in Pantego (no idea where it is on a map, but just a few miles away!) this ice cream shop had stellar reviews with creative flavors and late hours, so I was sold. Even for a chilly fall night, there were several people already inside and I entered just in front of a large group, and we still all got great service. Everyone was able to get samples of the various flavors and after many moments of indecisiveness, I committed to salty caramel and strawberry cheesecake. The price was fair, especially compared to the froyo places in Dallas, and the quality was way better. It was a great little treat to find in Pantego and I'm looking forward to being back in the area for an excuse for more ice cream! read more

Still 5 stars for the ice cream, but unfortunately I would give 1-2 stars for the cookies. You can buy the cookies individually for $.79 or get two with ice cream in the middle for only $3! Sounded like a bargain to me! They will warm up your cookie upon request. I asked if they were soft and I was told "they are not crunchy". I hate crunch cookies so I always like to make sure. The question I should have asked would be, "when were they made"? The cookies were pretty dry and clearly not fresh. I am wondering how long they had been in that box. I should have known better, but I really love ice cream cookie sandwiches and wanted to at least give them a shot. Since everything else I have had here has been really good, I figured they would be too. I was wrong and would definitely not get the cookies again. The plus side of my order was the cookies and cream ice cream. It has so many Oreos in it the ice cream looks like chocolate! If you like Oreos you would love it! YUM!! Another place we've wanted to try and we have been missing out for a long time! What better reward at the end of the week (or any day) than some fresh, homemade ice cream?!? Move I've B&R...they may not have 31 flavors at one time, but I was taught "less is more" and quality over quantity. This small ice cream shop is family owned. Service is 5 star and the flavor selection is awesome! Our first time in (during Covid at that) and we were greeted with smile and spunk. We felt at home! We were able to sample flavors and combos so we new what we were getting into. (Hot mess of perfect ice cream!!) it is hard to decide because it is all. so. good. There are some seasonal flavors too so it's not always the same flavors all the time. All are made on site. So it's all fresh just like grandma made in the old ice cream bucket with the salt. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm sorry...homemade ice cream made on the back porch.) Even the cones and waffle bowls are made on site. Not shipped. Not manufactured in a plant. Right there in the shop. My favorite flavor is salted caramel. But the coffee, brownie, peach, strawberry cheesecake, key lime...ok you get the point that they are all yummy!! You can get a scoop or two or take some home or both. I felt like I was cheating on BB but I'd rather have fresh than a gold lid! Oh, you get to pick your color of spoon too. I get red and M gets green. I think ice cream tastes better when you have your favorite color of spoon . We have become regulars...this is a great way to top off our delicious lunch in the same shopping center. Different combo each week. Sometimes I get a waffle bowl. Sometimes I don't.
