My husband and I initially decided that we didn't want to do engagement photos; however, after meeting with Emily and Justin (who felt instantly like friends) we found that doing an engagement session would be super beneficial. Our engagement session was included in the wedding package and definitely gave us a feeling of what to expect come the wedding day AND get to know each others personalities. Come the wedding day, Emily and Justin were very organized, on time, and listened to every request we had as far as what photos we really wanted to have. They helped ease the nerves and really captured every moment perfectly from the first look, to the cake cutting. We absolutely LOVE every single picture from our wedding. My fiancee loved their photos (viewable on their website), and after a quick interview with them, we instantly booked them. Wedding photography can be pricey, but their photos were great and, when we booked them, they charged half the price of people whose photos weren't even any better. For our engagement photo shoot, we headed out to Santa Monica Pier, where my fiancee and I shared many memories. It's a crowded place, and the day was crowded, too, but the photos came out beautifully. There was a great variety of shots, from the pier itself, to us in a lively pier, and shots where we the only people in the world, a feat hard to pull off on a busy Saturday. Most importantly just didn't want another boring video that no one wants to watch (or rewatch). Looking through Brad's portfolio I saw his strength was in storytelling and while watching his prior works I felt engaged as a viewer. This was my main reason for booking Brad. Brad was great with communication. He scheduled a meeting one month prior to discuss our plans for the day e.g. must have scenes, locations, etc. Brad offered an off day with a location of our choice to film us a couple outside of the wedding context. This worked out beautifully. Brad was pleasant to work when it was just bride and groom and when we had a photographer and bridesmaid on board as well. He was very receptive and accommodating of my request to shoot in brighter / lighter tones than his signature moodier style. Although both the wedding and off day happened to be cloudy, Brad did an amazing job during post processing to adjust for the color. Brad also made sure to incorporate a home video of our cats as they were integral to our story. I am very appreciative of the effort that went into perfecting our video. I love watching it and even after several dozen re-runs it still makes me go "awww". Friends and family have nothing but praises for Brad's work and some have even said they were moved to tears. I think often times people skimp on the videography especially in the elopement context, but regardless of whether you're having an intimate ceremony or a full blown wedding, the video is what captures the emotions, sounds, and allows you to relive the moment. I'm glad we opted for both photography and videography for our event although during the planning phase it seemed a little excessive. However, the day flew by and before I realized it 7 hours came and went. I can't imagine how much faster it would have been if we had a full cast of guests and activities.

He showed up on time and had a nice set up that worked well for all of different families that took photos that day. He was patient as we did different configurations with our family during our shoot. Originally the shoot was just for the kids. But he encouraged us to take a few photos with them just for memories. (That's why the adults aren't dressed up.) He captured some really sweet moments as well as some silly moments with my children. Both he and the woman working with him were kind and friendly. We love the photos and the lighting and backdrop that he used helped to show the warmth and love within my family. I would definitely recommend!
