Light Up is a team of very nice people who are super easy to work with that do really nice work. Most vendors require you to contact them before they disclose their packages and pricing structure. From the beginning, Light Up was different. Samantha who handled the communications is very responsive and organized. Dave - you can tell he's been doing this for a long time. The first time we spoke, he said "wedding planning is already stressful, we just want to make it easy". We knew we were in good hands. On the day of, Dave and Paul came early. They really pay attention to the little details - they took off their shoes when they noticed all the shoes at the entrance (we are Asians =P) even though we didn't expect them to. My family really appreciate that. Dave was very relaxed and that kind of calmed our nerves a little bit. Our Blu-Rays arrived with custom designed cover within a month, really impressive considering the amount of footage they have to go through (almost 12 hours with multiple cameras). They were able to capture the important moments, the little moments, and the tiny details that made our day ours, with an artistic eye. We absolutely love the final edit. Oh and the sound quality - our reception venue was a little echo-y and we couldn't hear parts of the speech, but the sound is so clear in the video! We couldn't have asked for more. So I admit it, my fiancé and I had debates on whether a videographer was worth it for our big day. IT DEFINITELY IS. and Light Up Video is the best choice. It was easy to come I contact with someone and get pricing. We chose the 6 minute trailer along with all the raw footage. Our wedding was on 10/06/2018 and we received our beautiful video on 11/30/18. Which is pretty fast for them having multiple clients. They let you choose two songs of your choice for the video and add other music to fill in the gaps. Just seeing the final product was breathtaking it really captured all the happiness from our big day and we are soooo grateful! We highly recommend light up video! They gave us clear directions for all the shoots and it made it very easy for us to be ourselves. Everything about the teasers, the full edit and the raw footage far exceeded our expectations. Nelson was phenomenal...he's Dave's (the owner) protege and really delivered the goods...they even brought along a drone for some really fantastic shots of our venue (Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu) We booked the full hour long edit.... I think the biggest fear photographers have is a videographer getting in the way of a shot...Nelson and his second shooter were ninjas and managed to elude photographic capture the entire evening - these guys are TOP SHELF. It was about a 3 week turnaround for the entire video but I happen to be a sound editor so I'm fussy with audio - I had a big list of changes for the ceremony (lower this laugh, mute this wind noise, fade music out here instead of here etc) I'm sure it was a pain but he happily and quickly made all my changes and even re sent updated Blu Rays...we screened the video for the entire family there wasn't a dry eye in the house. To make it even better we got all the raw footage of the wedding to make our own little creations...tons of drone shots of the wedding from hundreds of feet in the air - thank you guys!!!!! And if you are looking for one, Light Up Video is who you want to contact. Dave (owner) is very quick at responding and so kind to work with us. They are located in LA but made it work for us as we are in San Diego. We could get anyone in San Diego but saw their work and did not look any further. Our videographer was Stephen. He was amazing! He contacted us closer to our wedding date and finalized the details with us to ensure the day went smoothly. He is a quiet guy but very laid back and calm, who knows what he is doing. The day is already crazy so you want someone calm to tell you what to do for him to shoot rather than someone frantic and all over the place with their camera. He made the day so easy! We watched our video the other day and fell in love with his work. The way he moved his camera to get some shots blew me away. There were some shots where I told my husband "How did he capture that? It is like he is floating with his camera!" I still have no idea how he got some shots but hey, pure talent. No special gadgets because he did not need them!
