Booked Emily and Justin for an engagement shoot (and the subsequent wedding, which I will review after it happens). Emily and Justin are both photographers with great personality and skill. My fiancee loved their photos (viewable on their website), and after a quick interview with them, we instantly booked them. Wedding photography can be pricey, but their photos were great and, when we booked them, they charged half the price of people whose photos weren't even any better. For our engagement photo shoot, we headed out to Santa Monica Pier, where my fiancee and I shared many memories. It's a crowded place, and the day was crowded, too, but the photos came out beautifully. There was a great variety of shots, from the pier itself, to us in a lively pier, and shots where we the only people in the world, a feat hard to pull off on a busy Saturday. I am an actress. I am clearly a stupid actress who dyed my hair and then ran out of headshots and needed them in a pinch (because who wants to reprint pictures of their old hair color?) Needless to say, I called up Emily and she squeezed me in for a quick outdoor headshot session and the pictures came out great! She explained that they both normally shoot pics at the same time, but because I just needed a few simple shots, Justin was manning the cam and she was making sure my hair didn't go rogue on me in the middle of a picture. We had a consultation with Chaffin Cade per a recommendation. We talked specifically about how we were envisioning our engagement shoot and how we would bring props to the site. They did not deliver even after we lugged our props to the location. They went with the same poses and concepts as all of their other couples: skirt lifted, far off glares, etc etc. To my dismay, hair covering my face from strong winds nor undergarments showing here and there caught their attention during the shoots and everything was always "amazing, beautiful." Additionally, we told them that we would pay for a portrait session instead since they did come or and take photos, Chaffin did not bend and would not give us the difference between our deposit and their prices portrait session. Ruthless. They claimed that 4 months is not enough time to rebook a different couple for our month (but at the same time saying that we'll regret them not shooting our wedding - shouldn't people be lined up outside your door then?) also insulted photographers you can book in 4 months, calling them cheap, and went on to assume that we are probably ranking our photos at the bottom of our priorities after deciding not to use them. In reality, our replacement photographer has an amazing portfolio, does great work, and is humble even with over 80,000 followers on social media...and we were able to book them in less than 4 months... read more

RUN - don't walk - to book these guys! My fiance and I took our engagement pics with Emily and Justin. Can't say enough great things about them as a team. They are super positive and have a total can-do attitude. I was worried the location was not going to workout and they assured it would be fine - and it was! They are seriously the nicest people ever and are very responsive. Bonus - They had the pics way earlier than I expected. Emily is so creative with styling and poses - and can make anything look pretty amazing. Their pics are magical and you will not be disappointed. I found out about Chaffin Cade Photography from a wedding blog. They were running a promotion that fit our budget, so I decided to contact them. Emily and Justin are really easy to be around, so much so that we ended up booking them after our first meeting! We started off with the Engagement shoot before our wedding. I really liked how they were willing to work with us when we requested to do our shoot in Long Beach, since we live there. They scouted the location prior to the shoot and came up with some really cool shots. We were really happy with the outcome! For our wedding, I could not be happier with Emily and Justin. I didn't give them too much guidance, but I did have a handful of specific shots I wanted. I really suggest doing the engagement session with the both of them because I was much more calm taking pictures with them the second time around. Emily was with me the whole day, and Justin was with my husband and the groomsmen. My husband is not into taking a ton of pictures, but I think Justin did a great job. He let them hang out and do whatever they wanted, but still managed to get some really nice posed and candid shots of the guys. Finally seeing our pictures after the wedding was so exciting. I can honestly say they were well worth the investment, the pictures are so beautiful, I'm so glad we are able to look back on them and share them with our family now! Justin and Emily were our photographers for our wedding, and we really enjoyed our experience. From start to finish, they were friendly, professional, and of course, our pictures turned out wonderfully. We had spent hours looking through different photographers' websites, but as soon as we saw pictures from Chaffin Cade we knew. Another reason why they stood out from other photographers was their artistic component in engagement and wedding photos, which we loved. Throughout the whole process, they were so friendly, and we appreciated how quickly Emily would get back to us if we had any questions or concerns. Before our engagement photos we were pretty nervous - we didn't know what to expect. To our surprise, our shoot went so smoothly especially because of how fun and relaxed Justin and Emily made us feel. We definitely appreciated their experience and guidance but they also were very attentive to the types of pictures that we would want. They are also very efficient; we were able to capture all our photos(in three different outfits) in less than 2 hours without feeling rushed. Amazing! On the day of the wedding, they were really responsive and several of our guests commented to us about how nice and friendly our photographers were. They were also very prepared as they visited our venue well before our wedding to plan the ideal location of shoots. We initially wanted to do our pre-ceremony shoot at a different location but when things needed to be changed, they executed everything as if it were already scheduled. My husband and I hired Emily and Justin for our wedding photography. It was one of the best decisions we made! I looked at a lot of web sites for wedding photography ... something about the dreamy, creative pictures on the Chaffin Cade site just drew me in. Every single email correspondence with Emily and Justin from that first email asking about prices and availability, to the last email when Emily let us know that our wedding album was in the mail was so prompt and professional. I was never left waiting and wondering about any questions or concerns. My now-husband and I took engagement photos with Emily and Justin on the beach at El Matador north of Zuma. A location that the photographers scouted themselves! It was a beautiful location ... but my fiance and I were both a little nervous because I don't think either of us are particularly photogenic. It seemed like a weird thing to go have fancy pictures of yourself taken just because you decided to get married. However, it was the best, most fun, relaxed situation ever, thanks to Justin and Emily. It turned out to be a really memorable, delightful experience. The pictures turned out great ... because all the pictures that Chaffin Cade take turn out great (seriously); it turns out that you don't need to be too photogenic... Emily and Justin are so great at what they do that you (as the subject) don't need to be "good" at having pictures taken of you. The pictures were uploaded to a gallery really quickly and a zip drive arrived in the mail soon after. These guys work in a very timely manner and never leave you, as the customer, wondering. We got married on June 1 in Santa Barbara. Emily and Justin traveled to the wedding for a very reasonable price, and scouted out a place to take pictures after the ceremony and before the reception (a very cool nursery next to the reception site). Emily did a lot of talking to my month-of wedding coordinator leading up to the wedding, to make sure we had enough time to get all of the pics we wanted. I appreciated her doing that immensely because I had no idea how the day of the wedding would go. Emily's communication made everything go smoothly. I had a blast taking pictures with Emily before the wedding with my bridesmaids ... and Justin took pics of my husband and his party. It was so relaxed and comfortable to have your pictures taken by this team, I can't stress that enough. After the post-ceremony pictures, at the reception, I really don't remember seeing Emily and Justin much ... it's all kind of a blur. But when we saw our wedding gallery a couple weeks later we were so pleased. They captured everything beautifully. We also ordered a package with a wedding album which I would recommend to anyone. The album came about two months or a little more after the wedding and it made me excited about the wedding all over again. It's easy to think that an album is unnecessary but I think the album was one of the best money we spent.
