It's a great tour but I think if they revised the name to "haunted" or "spooky", it would be closer to the actual tour. Which is a history of massive deaths in the Brooklyn area. The tour goes from Williamsburg, to the Navy Yard to back up. You actually learn a lot about the Cobble Hill area. Tyler and Danny were great and so knowledgeable!! Not sure if this is a repeatable tour, but it definitely is worth it! Also come on the earlier side bc seats fill up quickly! I think I was only 1 of 3 locals. Everyone else were tourists. This tour was such a letdown from start to finish. The guide actually allowed two people to join who had not paid or shown tickets, which meant several of us had to sit three to a row on a trolley that was already crowded. It was uncomfortable and poorly managed. The guide herself (Gaya) seemed nervous and not very comfortable with public speaking. Her energy was low and it made the tour feel flat. The whole thing really needed more confidence and enthusiasm to make the stories come alive. As for the tour content, it was extremely underwhelming. We did not go to any real haunted sites or cemeteries. At one point the driver simply pulled over on the side of the highway and pointed out a cemetery in the distance. I could not believe that counted as part of the experience. Overall this felt like a waste of money and time. It was crowded, disorganized, and the storytelling lacked excitement. I would not recommend this tour to anyone expecting an engaging or authentic haunted experience. read more

On our second day in Brooklyn, we saw the Madame Morbid's Trolley go by. We saw it and booked our ticket's for the next evening. My friend and I boarded the trolley the next day with 3 other guests. Our ride was aptly decorated in dark hues and velvet and really set an eerie vibe for the night ahead. We had a driver and a guide, who briefed us on the evening's agenda. They were going to take us around Brooklyn and show us some significant historical spots that had ghostly reputations. There was a monitor which showed videos with historical information about the locations we were visiting. In between sites, the guide would do trivia for prizes. This was my first ghost tour so I was really excited. But sadly, this trip was extremely disappointing. We paid to drive around a trolley for an hour and watch videos while answering trivia questions for cheesy prizes (pens, a spider rings and plastic vampire teeth.) Since it was night time, we couldn't even see the sites they were pointing out. It was dark and we never stopped or got out of the trolley. Even if we did stop, most of the buildings didn't exist anymore. Most had been torn down. So we'd drive by a Staples and the guide would tell us what used to be there. We passed a cemetery, but all we saw was the wall as we quickly sped by. The guide was a very nice lady, but the jokes and videos were corny. I could have googled the same info and learned the same info. The "narrators" were basically imitators of Judge Judy and Joan Rivers which were cringey at best. read more

Such a fun tour! I love darker historical tours the most and this was perfect. It was worth the long drive from NJ. You will giggle and sometimes feel a tiny bit sad for the deceased, but always be entertained while you relax and get driven around by a top notch driver. Our tour guide was great. His name is Tyler the Terrible. He was very engaging. Our trolley driver was also amazing. I couldn't believe how he was able to squeeze past some trucks and buses. The trolley itself was very cool looking. It definitely set the mood for a spooky tour. My only disappointment was the actual tour and stories. It was heavy on history and less on spooky. What a new an unusual activity right here in Brooklyn. It was mostly historically based, which I find fascinating as I learned quite a bit about our rich history. Madame Morbid's Trolley Tours has been on my radar for a very long time. Everytime i travel to a city one of my favorite things to do is take a haunted tour, but i have never done one in NYC...which is basically my back yard. Madame Morbid's tours are equal parts education, gore, and entertainment. From the moment the trolley pulled up to pick us up, it was show time and we were instantly transformed back into the victorian gothic era. Gory Rori, our tour guide, stumbled off the trolley in true victorian goth form, dressed from head to toe, she fit the scene of the tour. I would highly suggest this tour to anyone and everyone, and will be back next season. A few highlights: 1. Tour is almost 2 hours long (i came on a sunday at 4 PM in October) 2. There are coupon codes online which offer 15% and 20% off, although the ticket is steep, it is worth it,. 3. You will drive through about 5 Brooklyn neighborhoods 4. You will learn about 8 stories, but also be taught other facts about death, the funeral industry and NYC in general 5. There will be traffic, but our tour guide entertained us with games and prizes. Theres also music on the tour and some smoke. 6. You get picked up and dropped off in the same spot. I hope next season there are more tours offered, because i think the traffic effects it. taking it in the evening was great but at times it did move slow. read more

Who said you can't get your spooky, creepy, party on when the sun is still out!?! I had a Madame Morbid taste through Yelp, a little amuse bouche. This taste left me thirsty for more!!! And what better way to do the tour but with all my spooky friends joining me. The only hard part was making sure my spooky friends could wake up while the sun was up. A 1pm deadline does not work so well with these kids. I wrote some reminders and texts and everyone made it before 1:10. And we were off. There was 11 of us and for us Halloween is like our Christmas. We were all super excited. Since I'd had a taste I held back on some trivia but I heard so much more in this 2 and half hours of bliss. We also saw a ton more informational videos done by tons of famous peeps to learn about the ghost history of Brooklyn. I loved that the focus is my home of Brooklyn. All my friends laughed and listened to everything. They especially enjoyed the harassment of passerby's with the loud speaker asking gentrification style questions. There's some dark humor here. There's an intimate total of 20 people roughly in the trolley. It was tight and sometimes a little bumpy. The Atlantic Antic Festival was happening the same weekend so there was some detours. I highly recommend this ghost tour for those that are new in town but are into the dark world. Those who travel to cemeteries when on vacation. Yes, this would be perfect for you. My friend from Scotland is already spreading the good word. Even though no one understood him when he said "Poltergeist", he raved about the tour for days! This delightful tour of spooky Brooklyn was everything we expected, and more. Our guide was sharp and funny, the ride smooth despite the traffic, and the tour of Brooklyn high spots and neighborhoods a pleasure. I came here last night for the tour and had such a great time. I really enjoyed the personalities of our tour guide and our driver. Brooklyn has such interesting history and you learn fun facts in an unconventional manner. Directions on the website are accurate and super easy find. The trolley was so pretty decorated and the seats were so comfortable. I've done trolley tours before where the seats suck but not here . I had a fabulous time with my friend. I may just return with my fiancé because he is a history buff. This is more historical then scary ghost stuff but worth the trip. Super interesting and hilarious. I did this tour a few years ago when they first came out. I was so excited it sounded so fun and spooky. Well the trolley was very cool, but the tour was disappointing and the "humor" used was so hackey. They should focus more on trying to be scary than funny. The videos were lame. Like if it was truly funny I still could have had fun, but it was just so so bad. The thing that turned me off the most was the guide telling us at the end not to write negative reviews. That left a very bad taste in my mouth. So....it seems like this business is rated so positively because they tell you not to write negative reviews and to tell them directly if you were unsatisfied. Sorry, but I felt pretty uncomfortable that my only discourse was to tell the guide to her face that I thought she sucked? No thanks. read more

The anticipation of waiting at a bus stop on a chilly night..... seeing that smoke filled trolley pull up....ooohhhhh That's the best part. For 49$ you get to ride around in said trolley, some cheesy videos, knowledge of Brooklyn and trivia, silly jokes and prizes. Tbh, I learned a few things and said ooh and ahh but there was something missing. I can't quite put my finger on it. It was a subdued crowd. Lacking energy maybe.
