It isn't all free play with scarves, but it isn't so strict or boring the student's aren't engaged. As a beginner, I was really nervous but the class was perfect for newcomers. They focus on teaching the basics patiently so it makes you feel more comfortable in the studio. It was a really fun class! Everyone was so supportive, I left feeling confident and excited to continue learning. They also offer bachata classes, which I'm definitely signing up for next. If you're a beginner like me or have some experience, I highly recommend this school for a great dancing experience.
