I have 2 daughters, ages 15 & 7. Over the past 10 years, we have tried just about every dance studio in the beach cities. Not that our experiences were bad at the other studios, I just felt like my girls were not really learning how to dance like they should be considering the amount of hours they were spending in classes. Then we found Fifth Row Center and what a difference a year has made. My girls both love their dance classes and to see how their technique has improved over such a short period of time, is really quite remarkable. Deborah is amazing with the little kids and my 7 year old responds better to her than any other teacher we've been to. All of the teachers are amazing and each have something special and unique to teach the kids. They offer classes in several genres of dance, and unlike other places that usually specialize in only one type, they are great at everything they teach, therefore producing very well rounded dancers. Most studios in the area are fine if you just want an after school activity to send your child to. 5th Row has been an absolute game changer for my daughter, as well as for our entire family. My daughter has always danced, even at school, just from one class to another. Since beginning 5th Row a few years ago, she's absolutely found her happy place, and a dedicated place to express her talents, and her passion. It is a family of passionate dancers, incredibly well experienced mentors, and highly skilled teachers, who are guiding and encouraging them all to have no limits. My daughter initially took one weekly class, and now she is taking 11+ hours a week, though she would take double that amount! She enjoys so much competing with 5th Row, as it subsequently offers her the team experience similar to other sports. That said, the dance class itself feels to her like a team experienced every day. She races out of the car to embrace her dance friends and put on her dancing shoes! I cannot recommend 5th Row enough for the ways in which it supports and challenges, and also for the ways in which the teachers and administrative team create and insist upon a familial bond amongst the dancers. Fifth Row Center has been incredibly supportive of my dancer who has found her love of dance at the "older" age of 16. Though having to take classes with many students much younger, she has thrived in such a supportive studio and found her second home as a member of the studio's competition team. The instruction is spot on with many of the teachers being professional working dancers and choreographers. They bring a fun, positive energy to each and every class and foster an accepting and supportive environment. Classes are varied offering ballet, tap, many types of jazz, hip hop, musical theater and world dance culminating in a June performance. They have a great summer list that also offers the opportunity to perform in a summer Revue Show at the end of August. Fifth Row has supported my daughter's dedication and is working with her to help her reach her goals of continuing her artistic expression during and after high school. I can't say enough good things about Fifth Row! My daughter has been going there since she was 3, and we absolutely love it. It has been such a special part of her life. The best way I can describe Fifth Row is that it feels like family. Everyone is friendly, positive, and supportive. Sheri and Debra are wonderful, and you can tell they truly care about each dancer -- not just as performers, but as kids. There is a real sense of belonging and community there. My daughter is learning so much more than dance -- she's learning how to work with others, be part of a team, support her friends, and carry herself with confidence. The performances and recitals are incredible and, most of all, fun. Our family was new to the area last summer; how blessed we were to meet the dedicated teachers and join Fifth Row Center! Our children have been dancing since the age of 4. Now, 10 years later, they have never been happier at a dance school. The instruction, teachers and opportunities are amazing. They are not only concerned with the technical aspect of dancing but care deeply about developing the whole dancer-mind, body and spirit. Fifth Row is a very special place. My daughter loved to dance but she was too intimidated to take dance class. Sheri let us come in and watch-she made my daughter very welcome and safe. That was 10 months ago. I can't tell you how my daughter has blossomed at Fifth Row-her confidence and her dance technique are improving in leaps and bounds. Fifth Row has been my daughter's dance home for 6 years. She has become skilled at all types of dance: ballet, tap, jazz, jazz funk, hip hop, Bollywood and Broadway jazz. Her teachers are all professional dancers that reinforce professional skills including picking up choreography quickly, technique and precision. Last year my daughter was ready to give up on dance classes and just take gymnastics. When she heard that Sherri was starting her own studio she said, much to my surprise, that she wanted to give it a try. Now we are so happy that she did! She loves it here! Fifth Row is a wonderful performing arts center! The teachers go above and beyond in helping the students become the best they can be and my daughters relish the time they spend there. On more than one occasion one of my girls wanted to take a class, but didn't see what she needed on the schedule. Well, the owners, found a way to create a new class for her.
