I contacted 4 different local accounting service businesses and ultimately decided on Hongda & Gil Tax. I made an appointment and drove down at the end of February. Since it was my first time, they did have to get copies of our Drivers' licenses. I came alone, but happened to have a photo of my husband's and emailed it. During the initial set up, I waited in a common break room. They had water, coffee and vending machine if you wanted any snacks. After waiting about 10 minutes, I went in for my actual appointment. Everything was fairly quick, I was asked a few questions, provided advice on things to change on our W4, and told how much I would get back and what I owed. I checked my direct deposit a couple weeks later and saw I had already received by money back from the State! LOL The fee was also reasonable; just a tad higher than what my previous accountant charged, but the processes was really smooth and so fast. Definitely coming here again next year.

However, she is booked weeks in advance and to have to reschedule an appointment with Mariette can now take about a month from the first time that you wanted to talk to her. I then asked to be rescheduled to a different date and time that she suggested. I called her at the time we had scheduled and I didn't know that she had scheduled with someone else at that time. She said that I had asked for that time, but that she didn't confirm that appointment with me. She said that I had to request that appointment within a 72 hour window. I understand what she means, but she also didn't tell me that she couldn't make that appointment with me because she gave it to someone else. So here I am with an appointment in my calendar to discuss something with her that I wanted to tell her about a month ago and if I have to reschedule again then I have to wait another couple of weeks. Then she told me that she would call me, but never did. I actually think that Mariette is a victim of her own success. I'm sure that she's good. I'm sure that she knows what she is doing. But I'm also sure that she is too busy for me and inconsiderate of my time. I see how many 5 star reviews that Mariette has and I realize that this one star review goes completely against what others have written. But none of the other reviews are from a Yelp Elite member or with anyone with more than a handful of reviews. And I seldom give a one star review.
