My 4th grade daughter started lessons at Madison Academy of Music last year. At first we were…read morehappy with the school even though it seemed to be managed in a haphazard way. For one thing we never saw an invoice or bill for lessons. I always paid the teacher and it was up to us to keep track of what we owed. Of course, there was never a receipt for our payment either. We'd only been going for a few months when some strange things happened. Once we showed up at the building and it was locked. The teacher didn't have a key and couldn't get in touch with the owner so we had to skip that lesson. Sometimes when we went in, the lesson room was disorganized or had been moved -- not by the teacher. As much as we liked the teacher, we decided the school wasn't the right fit for us and stopped going. I'd suggest something more professional. Place doesn't look open anymore, so maybe they closed or moved?

The amazing, dedicated teachers have created a nurturing environment, where the students really get to know each other. As a result, they have created a unique space where kids feel comfortable to learn, grow, and to be curious. Students are advanced and challenged according to their abilities and interests in a small class environment where they stay engaged and connected. The school provides wonderful breadth of activities beyond the core academics, including twice a week field trips, a Kingian nonviolence class, music, theater, cooking, community service, student run work shops, and other enriching experiences. Our son loves going to CELC, and CELC has inspired him to learn and to be his best self there.
