Posting this for both the westlake and lakewood office. After a months long saga I finally have a functional pair of glasses. It started out at their Lakewood location when I got my first pair of glasses that broke almost immediately. Fine. We reorder a new pair. I go in 3 weeks later to check in on the contacts. They haven't even reordered the glasses. So we try this again. Get the glasses 4 weeks later but they break again. Request a brand new pair. Have to go to their Westlake office with larger selection. Charge me $50 for a "refitting" despite the fact they sold me crappy glasses. Wait another month for the new glasses. I call the Westlake office a month later and they apparently just came in and "are here for pickup." Go to the Westlake office and find out they are actually at the Lakewood office. At the Lakewood office and they say their opticians are very busy and we will need time to adjust the frames. By this point, my whole afternoon has been shot. I explain to the person that I am pretty frustrated after having been at this for over an hour and if they can get to things quicker. See on the opticians desk that the lady at the front desk messaged her on teams saying I needed a refitting and had a "huge attitude." Some of these things were not their fault. A lot of them are. I am beyond frustrated with this place now. I have been waiting for weeks for someone to provide me with a refund for glasses that should never have been ordered. I am getting the runaround and it is very very frustrating. I've been told I will receive a phone call several times and Hayley has not called me back. I am not happy and would not recommend Madison Eye Care at this time. read more

I was taking care of first time right away. I'm picking out a pair of eyeglasses and her name was Krystal. She is the COO of the company. That is what I was told by Renee. I came in another time to just get sized up and pay. I've been coming there for a few years now, today, which is Friday, 19 December 2025. People had appointments to get what I needed was my eyes to just be sized. I already glasses, which were Versace. I was waiting about a half an hour and a girl came in and I did not know she had an appointment. I said, hey, I was waiting.. So the employee that had the appointment with someone came up to me in a very condescending, patronizing and cocky Way and told me "that she had an appointment. And maybe you don't know this" and more....but she was basically "putting me in my place" so to say,for me out for saying that I was waiting and I think I'm next. I was taken back and ready to walk out.. But I waited, then somebody walked in with another appointment. So I did leave. Then I got home and called for an appointment. I was told that I'm to walk in and then they size me for my glasses. Well, I wanted an appointment, but maybe this is a sign for me not to purchase them. Because talking to them on the phone was even more difficult as I asked for Krystal, who is the first person that I saw and was very willing to help me when I walked in. They ended up transferring me. To a girl named Renee, who I think was the person that reamed me out sitting in the chair. As if I was a second class citizen.. I said, but don't I need an appointment for when the Care Credit person is in. "No, you could just give us the numbers and. We'll call you. Again so unprofessional, and I don't know where these employees came from, because it used to be such to go and get my glasses, but I will no longer do so! I will just go to euro optical where you're treated kindly. Maybe it was the day that I went in in the COO was there that everybody was kind and doing their job but people were sitting there talking on their phone and I'm just waiting to get sized and pay. PLEASE do not waste your time going to the WESTLAKE office location. Honestly this is the worst office I have ever experienced in my 50 plus years. Outside of having a wonderful doctor, Dr. Steele, the staff is a JOKE. They are RUDE! They book appts only for you to show up and tell you don't have an appt, they mess up on any insurance information you provide them, and they raise their voice at you. Complete IDIOTS! I never take the time to write YELP reviews, however if I can save even one person from the torture of going to this office, it makes my day. read more

Dr is great . Office personnel are not !! First visits they called me three times to get the same information which they incorrectly noted. Then after 2 visits with my sister in law who's intellectually disabled and has always had Medicare and Medicaid . They don't accept Medicaid so I paid the difference without any problems . On our third visit ( appt was made a year ahead of time) they called as we were getting ready to leave for her appointment to tell me that because Medicaid is her secondary they can not see her . I advised that I always pay the difference and it never been a problem they insisted tgey will not longer see her as a patient 1/2 hour before her appointment. Horrible and smacks of discrimination!!!!! read more

If you are shopping for frames, DO NOT WASTE your time at Madison Eye Care Associates-Westlake! My two week experience with this business is one of THE WORST customer service experiences I have ever had. From the time I first walked in the door to the subsequent visits and phone calls trying to get assistance in ordering the frames I found only at this business, I was disregarded. Not a friendly vibe in ANY interaction throughout the 2 weeks I dealt with this business. I never got a feeling of genuine attempt to provide even basic customer service. I had to ASK for help over and over. I called the optician who I was assigned to throughout the process to facilitate things, but never got a return phone call. I finally called and asked if it was a good time for me to come in one day to make my purchase, and was actually connected with her. It was a Saturday morning, one of the few times I could get in due to Madison's limited business hours- especially for those working regular business hours. She said she never got my prescription I said I would email her (mind you she claimed to look only then and said it was in her junk mailbox; she never returned my prior follow up call asking if she got it). Then, she couldn't find the frames I said I was coming to get fitted for and wasted my time looking for them only to offer nothing to remedy the situation! I had to draw it out of her that she could order another pair and it might only take a couple days to get them in. When I inquired about the total cost for the frames and lenses, she claimed my optometrist office made a mistake releasing my insurance info and if she were to try to call my vision insurance provider directly, it would just take a long time, and she would probably not get through to them anyway. Pause. No explanation of next step. "Should I call my optometrist's office again and ask them to fix the issue"? I asked. "You could", she said. So I did and it was fixed and she computed a price (high) without any explanation of what was included. She just sat there with my second choice frames on the counter between us, saying nothing. I told her how much I wanted the pair I came in for. Next, I asked, "Can you let me know early in the week, about the the next step (with the frames that were missing)?". After leaving Madison E.C that day, I thought about how friendly the optician was to the customer sitting next to me. This optician chatted with him about his very expensive car parked outside the front door. I also heard the high price the customer was willing to pay for his frames. I noticed a woman walk through the door and the attentive and friendly approach she was provided. I asked myself, had I looked different my first visit or two, would I have been treated differently? I had stopped in after work, a 60ish woman wearing medical scrubs and old, dowdy frames. I waited until Thursday the next week (they were closed for a holiday on Tuesday, but the optician did not mention they would also be closed Wednesday), so I followed up with a phone call Thursday afternoon and left a message with the receptionist -again. There was no return phone call by Friday afternoon, two hours before closing so I called and asked to speak to the manager. Per the request of the receptionist, I told her I was calling re the frames I was trying to order. I waited on hold for 8 minutes before the receptionist returned to the phone to say the manager was "with a patient", and she would have her call me back. I asked her why she couldn't have told me that sooner. I did not get a return call from the manager. After work that day, I went back to my optometrist and was able to find the frames I wanted, but did not see there previously. One of the always friendly and helpful opticians called my insurance company and within 5 minutes (including time typing in my info), she was able to connect with a service agent and complete the procedure the optician at Madison said would take too much time. She normally does not have problems with this. I have never been treated anything like this at the many businesses where I have shopped for frames. Sorry for the length, but I hope this helps someone else avoid the same trouble. I see there are others (on this site) who have had poor treatment as well --not the rosy picture seen on another review site. read more

I purchased glasses from them in Dec. 2018, all appeared well and their service was OK. However after about 10 months, the coating starting coming off of my lens- they did immediately order me replacements, but now it is 9 months later and the same thing is happening again! I have placed several calls to them, am told someone from their lab will call me???? When???? I work with numbers on a computer screen and need to be able to see! I didn't ask for them to be replaced for free, although this has never happened with glasses from other facilities; just want a call back and the cost of replacing the lens. I had an eye appointment on October 11, where the eye doctor encouraged me to order pink- tinted lenses for my glasses to help with my constant migraines. I was a little hesitant about how pink they would be, and Dr. Vo explained the tint would only be visible from certain angles, so I went ahead with the staff there and ordered exactly what the doctor recommended down to the color tint. I ordered uncut lenses so they could cut them on-site and get them back to me within an hour. They told me the lenses would be shipped back to them ready for cutting within 5 to 6 days. After over 7 days, I called to check on the status and they said they would be there in the next few days. This continued weekly until November. Then, when they were finally in, I had to wait another two weeks for a 1- hr cut appointment at 5pm on Thursday November 17. Every other day they close at 5 pm if not earlier. I showed up for the lenses and they were full-on rose colored that could be clearly seen from across the room. There was absolutely no way you could miss they were rose-colored. I was a little wary when I picked them up, but I tried them on at home and was appalled. I looked like the nerdiest stoner that ever existed. I work in a professional setting where I am on camera frequently. I looked ridiculous. I went back that night and had them change out to my original lenses, which are not as strong as the new ones were. During this whole period, they never once offered to remedy the situation by ordering new lenses, offering a discount or whatever. Nothing. I was also referred my the eye doctor to a neuro- opthamologist because I am unable to read or look at a computer screen without getting an instant migraine or nauseous. They referred me to 2 specific neuro-opthamologists who refused to see me for my issues. Worst service ever. A huge frustration, a waste of my time and money, and I was misled. Do not recommend and I will never go back. read more

I have been a client of Madison since I moved to Cleveland in 2016. I have purchased a number of pairs of glasses from them. I have always been happy with the service I received and the glasses I purchased until the last pair I bought. One of the lenses kept popping out. I took them back 4 times until they got me a new pair of frames. I wore those for a couple of months, until a lense on that pair popped out. I took them back and once again was told it was because the frame had been overheated. I received a text on January 10th saying the glasses had been fixed and that the cause was the frames had been overheated. I called and asked to speak to the optical supervisor who was out but I was told she would call me back later that week. I never received a call. I went to pick the up on January 21st. I asked to speak to to the optical supervisor but she wasn't in. So, Lance came to speak to me. As soon as he approached me, I picked up that "I really don't want to be bothered" vibe. I was explaining the whole story, when I was explaining the text the said "you don't have to take that condescending tone while reading the text". I didn't think I was being condescending especially since he was looking down on me. I then asked him how he would feel if these were his glasses, he said "I don't know but you don't have to be condescending". I stopped looked at told him to "kiss my a**" and walked out. To top off this wonderful experience they didn't even bother to clean my lenses. I am done! read more

Do not go here!!!! This is a rip off place who over charge then try to put $40.00 of finance charges on a $10.00 bill. Various members of our family went here and were charged different amounts of money on eye exams. My son and daughter went here for eye exams with same insurance and same service, my son was charged $20.00 at time of service and daughter $40.00. She paid the $40.00 when she left and thought that was it, then bill was sent for $10.00 in mail. When she called the billing department she refused to take it off. Then she got a bill in mail for $50.00 ($40.00 of finance charge) 6 months later. I repeat they cheat people here!!! Beware!!! read more

worst visit ever. they make you sign a paper that authorizes a test that is not covered by any insurance. that was $39 extra dollars. i paid that because i signed the paper without reading the fine print. i think they should have told me that no insurance covers the test. next the doctor looks at my eyes and refers me to a specialist. well this now turns the whole visit into a medical insurance visit instead of an eye insurance visit. this turns my copay from $0 to $50. all because this is how they bill. i never ask for any of this only a prescription for new glasses. the doctor wouldn't even give me my prescription. she said it would be useless because it would change. in short i expected to pay $0 and i walked out owing $89. i would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Lance was fun to banter with and he explained every step in the process and the reason for it. Dr Leah Steele was a true pleasure. She has a perky and warm spirit; a fellow dog-lover and doting momma. Dr Leah is very thorough and knowledgeable, offering different solutions to correct my vision. We moved to the area a few months ago. When my daughter started to complain about not being able to see well and watching her squint to see things, I decided to do some research and find a new eye doctor, instead of driving 30 mins to our old one. They had such great reviews and it's a 5 min drive from the house. So I gave it a shot. The moment we walked through the door I was impressed. Very clean, updated office with 100s of glasses. Great selection of affordable ones up to designer glasses. We were greeted by the very friendly front desk girls. Checked in and browsed for about 5 mins before she was called. The guy who gave her the exam was so nice and friendly and made my shy child very comfortable asking her questions about herself and cracked some jokes with her. Then was time for Dr. Steel to come in. She was also very friendly and personable. Just from the few mins me and my daughter spent with her I knew she enjoyed her job and loved talking with us. Never rushed and explained everything very thoroughly. Time to pick out glasses.. my daughter found a few she liked, but I didn't. (You know how kids are) the girl who helps you pick out/ offers her opinion, choose a few frames she thought my daughter would like based on the choices she made. Daughter ended up picking a pair the girl chose for her. Overall great experience. I'm calling in the next few weeks for a appointment myself. Can't wait to make them our family's optometrist. read more
