I called to ask what time my appointment was and when I called they kept me on hold for 20 without coming back to ask if I want to atill hold. I hung up after 20 minutes and they said please hold without asking me anything and kept me on hold for another 15 minutes. I called back and they just kept putting me on hold every time I called. Very rude people answering the phones. I asked for an office manager and they just said she didn't have a vm and I could leave a message. Extremely rude!! I will not be going back and hopefully they will get the front desk some customer service classes!! read more

We've been patients of this office for many years, and I even trusted Dr. White with my cataract surgery. Sadly, our most recent experience left us deeply disheartened. I called ahead and explained my husband might be a few minutes late for his 3:00 p.m. appointment. I was told as long as he arrived by 3:15, he would still be seen. He arrived at exactly 3:15, but the receptionist was not only rude -- she was dismissive and arrogant. She never looked up from her computer while telling him he was late and the doctor was fully booked. No attempt to reschedule was made, and the tone was anything but professional. As a Vietnam veteran, my husband deserves to be treated with dignity. After years of 5-star experiences, we'll now be looking elsewhere for our eye care. I can no longer recommend this office or Dr. White in good faith.We've gone to this office for years. I had my cataract surgery here and always gave glowing reviews. Want to clarify that my 2 star rating is only for my last visit. The 2 star rating states, "It could've been better," but I would change that to SHOULD HAVE been better. First off, I give Dr. White a 5-Star rating and I would give him higher if I could. He and his staff were simply first-class when treating my cataract issues as well as the surgery to correct the problem. Nothing but praise for that. However, last summer (2023), I had gotten some sort of weird bug (virus) while in Dominican Republic and my immune system went crazy. I completely lost my voice and my eyes went out of alignment which caused dizziness and bad headaches. Cramps and stiffness in my lower legs, you name it. I went to my family doctor right away for medicine, but there was not much he could do for my eyes. I quickly called Sky-vision and and explained what my problem was I asked to PLEASE be seen by an Ophthalmologist. They told me NO, I first had to be seen by an Optometrist and go from there. I pleaded saying I already had my vision tested a few months ago; I don't need a vision test, I need to see the doctor to see what's happening. But, they insisted I see an Optometrist first. I was able to get an appointment the same week and went in. Met with Doctor Sara Schoeck and explained everything. Boom, gave me the complete eye test. Each eye was 20/20. Pressure, vision, everything checked good. She told me to have your eyes are fine, and you should have your doctor arrange for an MRI. Something else is causing your headaches and double vision. See you later. So now what? My family is going crazy and my daughter is crying, says I have to seek another opinion somewhere else. I couldn't see right driving, or even walking. Had to always keep one of my eyes closed to clearly see anything, and then I'd only have half my field of vision. Computer, or reading a book; forget it. Never experienced anything like this. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Well, I go see another eye doctor. This time I'm a brand new patient and I get to see an Ophthalmologist (really?), I explain what's happening and 5 minutes into it BINGO, they see what's behind my weird vision problem. The theory being that the muscles holding the eye in place have over-reacted to fighting the virus. My eyes are both pointed slightly outward, with my right eye also pointing up about 4 to 5 degrees. Unusual but it happens. Each eye was 20/20 but not pointing at the same target. They first order a head scan, and later an MRI. Nothing out of the ordinary; no growth, no cancer or other major problem so that's good. After 2 or 3 more follow-ups, and no improvement, I get a prism put into my reading glasses on the right eye and that made a world of difference for reading. I could now use both eyes to read, where up until then, I'd have to close one eye or the other to see clearly. Well, I suffered for well over 5 months with the issue and just before Christmas, the condition slowly passed. My eyes are back pointed at the same target. My current doctor said they've never seen similar condition lasting more than 2 or 3 months. Makes me wonder how Dr. Schoeck could not have noticed it. Long story short, "listen to your patient" sometimes. I asked to see an Ophthalmologist because I already knew I wasn't dealing with some run of the mill issue, and hey, I'm the guy paying the bill. Dr. Schoeck, I don't expect you to be at Dr. White's level, but based on the information I explained to you, you should have dug deeper, or pass me onto to someone, to look further t and dig deeper than you could. You caused me (and my family) a lot of extra grief for nothing, and also hurt the reputation of Sky-vison, in my opinion. To wrap this up, I have and will still recommend Dr. White and Sky-vision, but not for any matter other that Cataracts. read more

I had pink eye, I knew I had pink eye. I went to skyvision To get drops to clear it up. I was told I had some weird eyeball inflammation and given a rx with crazy side effects that I never used. I called my immunologist did a face time appointment and was diagnosed with PINK EYE, called in drops and it was gone in 3 days. Not quite sure why they missed a very common, easy to see problem. 2 stars because it was during the pandemic and everybody was nice, just wrong diagnosis. read more

This is my second review of Skyvision Center. Although I was happy with the care I received from the catact surgery, I have one major complaint that has been weighing heavily on my mind. I was told by my surgeon (most surgeons seem to agree with him) that most patients opt for their vision being set to near sighted during cataract surgery. It didn't make sense to me at the time but I figured that he, being a surgeon, knew better. He didn't. Most of my daily activities require close up vision, for example reading, sewing, etc. Based on what I just said I definitely should have had my vision set to near sighted. Furthermore, a good and responsible surgeon would have asked questions about my activities before making his recommendation. I take responsibility for making that decision. I should have trusted my own opinion. It is too late for me now. I am writing this to emphasize the importance of knowing what is best for YOU and not basing your decision on what a doctor suggests. The surgeon and the company selling vision ware are the only ones who benefit from my decision. I am a patient and consumer of glasses now for life. Please think about what's best for YOU before you decide. I hope this helps. read more

I only stopped in to pick up contacts for my boyfriend so, I can't give a completely thorough review. He; however, raves about this place. He says that the doctor he's interacted with (Dr. Kaye) is extremely kind and helpful. He plans on going back for a LASIK consultation in the next six months and he's pumped about it. I'll update my review at that point. As far as my experience goes, this place is gorgeous and looks high class - the way you would picture an Optometrists / Ophthalmology office located in Westlake to look. When you enter the door to your right is the actual Optometry / Ophthalmologist 'doctor's office' type area and to the left is a gorgeous high end looking lens/frame shop. The walls are covered in jazzy, classy, and cute frames. You're guaranteed to find something that suits your tastes here. While most of the frames carried a high end brand name (Fendi, Versace, Coach) I overheard the technician inform a customer there were frames as low as $50 dollars available - which is great if you're a baller on a budget! All of the people I encountered here (the receptionist on the doctors' side and the technician in the frames area) were all smiles and willing to help. If I ever need contacts/glasses this will definitely be the location I choose! read more

I've been going here for years to see Dr. Kaye and Dr. White. I have terrible eyesight, so bad that I cannot even get the LASIK procedure. However, I feel like I get treated with respect, and always feel like my concerns are addressed. I like the open waiting area, it's very tasteful. Also the coffee/tea machine is wonderful. I do not care for the receptionists, however, the one check out girl is nice. They are very young, maybe 20? And they don't seem to know how insurance works...which is a little scary. But anyways my family and I love these doctors and will continue to come here for our yearly eye appointments! read more

The prescription also needed to be reviewed a month later. This week I paid for a 2nd opinion from another optometrist, and obtained another (different) prescription. Bottom line: not a good patient experience. Skyvision points to VSP as to why it didn't provide the $15 comprehensive annual exam, and VSP points back to Skyvision. Have been going to SkyVision since it opened. Dr. Kaye has been wonderful as my eyes have been aging. As soon as he noticed a little macular degeneration...he did an ultra sound, recommended specific vitamins to halt its progress, took special X-rays and pictures this year although there was no change in two years. (I've heard of friend at other eye facility who read she had macular degeneration starting on a report after she got home). I also appreciate the fact that even with a slight change in prescription, he believes I am doing well enough without spending more money. They care about the whole person. Short wait time to be seen, couldn't even finish my free coffee latte. Have recommended friends and they are all pleased. Since then ...have had cataract surgery with Dr. White ....having worn hard contacts for years, the caution and exams with Dr Schlegel to make sure my corneas were back to normal were meticulous. Of course I was fearful as you get one set of eyes...but Dr White is amazing eye surgeon, no pain, show up at 7:15....going to breakfast at 9:45....can see immediately (dilated eye however takes overnight to be totally normal )....over a year later have gone from legally blind without correction and 40/60 was best they could do with correction ....now I have 20/20 vision for distance and close, no sensitivity to light.. ..at 71 ....I say BRAVO and thank you Dr. White and SkyVision read more

I had a PRK procedure (more-advanced LASIK) for vision correction at Skyvision in February of 2016 and was extremely pleased with the process, healing time, and care that went into ensuring my recovery went as planned. I needed PRK due to severe dryness in my eyes amongst other factors, but I was extremely pleased with the process and quickness of the procedure. I am just about 6 months out of the surgery and my vision has been completely corrected. The outstanding team of Dr. White, Dr. Schlegel, Dr. Kaye and Connie Dunbar all saw me throughout my healing and recovery period and ensured that I was properly taken care of. This included various check-ups, some complimentary samples of prescriptions that I needed, and laying out a plan for my medication and recovery. These Doc's are AMAZING! I felt 100% at ease. Questions were answered and they made you feel like you weren't bothering them. Dr. White performed my cataract surgery and it was very smooth. Their scheduler was also excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend SkyVision to my friends and family! Our immediate as well as extended family have been with Dr. White for nearly 15 years and have only ever received top notch, first class care. With a familial tendency of Glaucoma, Dr. White has ensured that each one of our children is never going to be faced with the devastating vision loss that my husband has. Seeing several other physicians over the years, my husband came to Dr. White already as a young man diagnosed with Glaucoma at age 18 and with a significant vision loss because of the lack of best practices care. Dr. White continues to save the vision my husband has through prescription drops and occasional surgery as well as diagnostic testing and field vision tests on a regular basis. Been here once in 2013. Went to make an appointment for me and my family and the women answering the phones actually go out of their way to give you a hard time in making an appointment. They won't take more than 2 family members in the same day. My insurance allows me to have an eye exam every 12 months but she gave me a hard time and told my wife i was only eligible every 2 years. Not true! My last eye doctor had no problem taking four people in the same day. It's almost as if Skyvision centers doesn't want your business! Pretty sad if you ask me. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I would run away if I were you. read more
