It's also inclusive for kids in a wheelchair or needing additional assistance. There are several musical play opportunities that really interest all ages. Plenty of shaded areas for parents to sit and watch their kids explore, picnic tables in the shade, etc. We spent a couple of hours there with a 1 year old and definitely explored the whole park. One warning, always check the back and seats of the different swings as some of them get hot in different places. There is a roller hockey rink and skate park there as well. My daughter really enjoyed roller skating in the rink. The whole park was very clean, and well maintained. Can't wait to go there again.

She was too intimidated by the adults who were rough housing so we decided to leave as did three other families. All stated they didn't feel safe to allow their children to continue to play. But it was expensive, didn't work well, and steamship utilization drops. Nashville Parks and Rec took over managing it this park in 1956. It has 5.73 acres, overlooking the Cumberland River. It was actually hard for me to get a good picture of the river, because there were so many people fishing! This is the first Nashville park we've hit that had people fishing, which was fun to see. It has a playground, a boat launch, and the original lock keeper's house.

But this park also has tennis/pickle ball courts and a sand volleyball court! Both of which are lit, which is something not many other metro parks offer! The park is hidden in plain sight with not many people utilizing it for whatever reason. I honestly recently discovered it after driving by for years, so I get it. I usually will pop by one a weekend morning for a chill walk after a gym session or a coffee run. The walking paths are not much here and are honestly just sidewalks, as the park has more activity based offerings than trails. However, the short trek is worth the time, especially due to the convenient location to my normal weekend activities. Overall, solid metro park worth a visit!

Moss Wright Park may be one of my favorite parks in the Nashville Metro area! Tucked away north of…read morethe city in Goodlettsville, Moss Wright Park has all the quintessential offerings of a city park plus a few extras! The park itself is huge covering close to 150 acres, and features multiple sports complexes for different sports including baseball, football, soccer and even volleyball! In addition there is a paved walking trail that stretches over 3 miles from entry to exit, and gets even longer if you walk the parking lots that connect the two! The walking path is one of my favorites as it is fairly scenic for a park walking path with portions covered, shrouded in trees and alongside the creek, while the other part is open-air surrounding the soccer fields and dog park, but also still next to the creek. There are also gazebos, benches, picnic tables and playgrounds scattered throughout. The above are things that you naturally find at local parks, but a bit upgraded I would say...and in addition Moss Wright has a fairly newly constructed outdoor gym spot to help with a quick circuit workout. Lastly, this park is full of history from the Bowen House to Mansker's Station plus this park is location to the Goodlettsville Welcome/Visitors Center. Parking is plentiful. No matter which entrance you come in through or what area of the park you are after, parking is available. The park and all the facilities including the restrooms are very well kept from a cleanliness and condition standpoint. Overall, Moss Wright Park is a favorite of mine...funny enough, I am headed there to get a few miles in after submitting this review!

There's a separate area geared towards babies that my 16 month old loved exploring! Children are required to wear grippy socks and adult must wear socks (grippy not necessary for adults). They sell reasonably priced socks there if needed. The restrooms are kept very clean, with changing tables in both men's and women's sides, and toddler accessible potties and sinks. Located on a quiet end of the building, there's plenty of free parking. They have a little cafe area, offering coffees and other beverage and snack options, including dye free candies! I've had the caramel coffee a couple of times; made to order, so it was hot and fresh! They use oat milk instead of dairy. It can get very busy at peak times like midmorning on a Saturday, but we've been there later in the afternoon when it has been practically empty as well. A single play pass has no time limit; my kiddos stayed for 3 hours before I dragged them out! They also offer multi pass packages at a discounted rate and monthly memberships. The membership grants unlimited visits. We had our daughter's 4th birthday party here and it was a perfect venue for the kids to run around and have fun, but still easily find everyone to gather for cake and pizza. The private party room has some colorful decorations that we felt were sufficient without needing to bring anything extra, although they do allow you to bring in your own decorations. They also provided high chairs for our baby friends who joined the celebration! They assign a party coordinator who helps you get set up, then cleaned up at the end of your party. The rental time is only regarding use of the private room; guests are allowed to stay as long as they want beyond the party time to continue the fun! We were allowed to bring in our own food and drinks. There are optional add-ons for party packages, including juice boxes for kids, coffees for adults, gift bags, candy bar, etc.

We don't live too far, so we bring the pup here to change the scenery up for our walks. We hit the walking loop that surrounds the pond, where 2.25 loops equals one mile. The pond is fishable, and it is always active with amateur anglers. Everyone is friendly and seems to follow the rules. Surrounding the pond is a first come first serve pavilion with picnics, a playground and a detached swing set. Park is plentiful around the park as a whole. This comes in handy when the fields are all in use. The park is fairly clean and well maintained. Overall, we enjoy having Cedar Hill Park nearby. You will definitely find us cruising around the pond multiple days throughout the year!

Even after dark, we were comfortably hanging out in the playground and taking pictures around the park. The underpass with the big mural has big light posts on each side, so the pictures come out nice even at night time. The murals at this park are so colorful. Of course the most famous one is the 5 famous singers. Then there's the graffiti one at the railway underpass. Then there are multiple other colorful ones that look really amazing. We took a lot of pictures in front of all of these amazing arts.

Getting wild at the rumpus room!…read more It was our first time visiting the Rumpus Room and we were so excited to check it out. If you're looking for a fun, clean place to take the kiddos on those cold or rainy days, this is the spot! It's so quaint and such a fantastic idea. There are a few different play areas like a Veterinarian Clinic, construction zone, and cafe for the kiddos to engage in some imaginary play. Additionally, they have a sectioned off area specifically for babies and infants. The Rumpus Room is not only locally owned, but the owner, Haley, is female and a veteran....how freaking bad ass!! You can tell that she and her hubby have out so much heart into this cute place. You can also see all of the potential and vision they are working hard to bring out growing community. You can chose to play for an hour or better yet, a membership to have unlimited play time! At this time, they are requesting you reserve a play time through their website so they can accommodate safe play for all. We will for sure be back to play and look forward to seeing this hidden gem continue to shine bright!
