I have no issues with pets at all but it not allowing pets is the reason I enjoy it so much more. I know dogs are apart of many families but there are LOTS of people who don't clean up after their pets in public spaces. This park is always clean!!! I had my Mother's Day celebration here and it was perfect. Parking; There is ample parking Restroom: them actually having a facilities and it's what you'd expect for a public park. A place to go in, do what you need and leave. Walking trail: Nice and clearly marked. It's about a mile long and has markers all over. Playground: there are a few. Big and small. Lots of wooden swings as well. There are signs throughout the park that has mindful activities or educational purposes. Creek: There is a creek that runs around the park. Grills: The have lots of charcoal grills that you can use if that's your thing. I prefer to bring my own small one. Lots of areas to hammock. (Even by the creek) Picnic Tables: All over. Pavilions: They have small and large ones with electric outlets and tables. Very reasonable if you live in Wilson Co. This is a nice park. I always see park employees riding around maintaining the grounds. Also offer a place to charge electric vehicles. read more

We live two towns over but we're driving through and thought we'd stretch our legs. This park is amazing, but could use a little repair. Bathrooms are dated, but cleaner than most rest stops. The walking/biking path is 100% well kept and my personal favorite part of the park. I am hoping to come back with my grands, and from afar the playground looks like a kids dream. Fitness park definitely is in disrepair. But I love the idea of it. The wading pool was closed and the water looked clean, but was full of leaves (it was just fall y'all) The creek behind the park was peaceful and pretty. Finally, leaving a one star because they dont allow dogs doesn't set well with me. Because there were so many young kids on bikes and skates, I can see where a dog could get hurt or cause a new rider to get hurt. There are plenty of dog friendly parks, but not nearly the amount of skate/bike friendly places for younger kids. As a dog owner, I wouldn't want to walk my elderly dog here. And honestly, it was refreshing not having to navigate piles of dog waste. But that's a rant for another park! read more

After driving for a few hours, it was awesome to get out and go for a walk in this massive park. Multiple covered pavilions, multiple playgrounds, a really nice level walking trail. They have a couple of Level 1 chargers that are probably used for hosting a festival or such but it worked nicely to add 10% to my onboard battery while I walked around. It would be a good idea to implement more signs that show the two different directions for the A. Walking/Jogging and B: Bicycles and Skates, as well as painted markers and arrows showing which way to go, perhaps even with a dotted line. Trying to ride my bicycle while consistently having to slow to an exact walking speed because people are walking in the wrong direction on the loop is problematic. ​ read more

We are visiting from Florida, I have my lab with me. I looked for a local park to take her to so that we could fetch the ball for a while. I drive all the way across town, and with excitement tell Tuesday that we're going to the park to fish the ball when I see a sign that says no pets, no dogs allowed. It's discrimination! lol... but seriously, how ridiculous do you have a park that you can't walk your dog or throw a ball for her... read more

This is the worst park I've ever visited. I travel all over with my dogs and blog about parks. This is the only park I've run across didn't allow pets. What a ridiculous idea. Why would any dog owner want to go walk around a park without their dog? Also letting the public know this fact would be awesome. I drove 40 minutes out of my way only to find out that this park is useless. Spoiler alert - not everyone has kids. Way to isolate half the population. Also, there were three dogs at the park, ignoring your ridiculous rule. I left pretty quickly but not before seeing dogs there anyway. read more

This is a really beautiful park. There are several playgrounds (one is particularly huge and fun) and a great walking path. The only complaint is the creek is pretty trashed, which is sad bc it's a nice place! read more

I work near Don Fox Park and walk/run here almost every day. The inner loop is 1-mile, but you can extend it to 3+ miles using the outer loop or by taking one of the sidewalks that connect to the park. It is also connected to the Jimmy Floyd Center, for those that are members and want to do some indoor activities as well. I have not used the playground equipment, but it looks very nice. They have lots of benches and swings around the park and along the trail as well, and it runs along a creek with all sorts of interesting wildlife. Let's remember this is a public park and at the mercy of how the public treats it. Yes, the bathrooms aren't fancy and everything ages over time, but I see Park & Rec staff out there frequently landscaping and cleaning and they are always nice and courteous not to blow grass on my while I'm on the trail. Don Fox is a gorgeous community park on the West side of Lebanon. Loaded with activities, playgrounds, facilities, and a track for walking, biking, or skating. Very attractive and peaceful, too. I do have some issues. The wading pool was opened last year, but it already looks like it's ageing, and I was surprised that it was kind of dirty. The big wooden playground was king of worn-out also. The sand-box in particular looks like it needed refreshing pretty badly. It had clearly been stomped into submission for years and years, so some fresher sand would be in order. Everything was in working order, but it also appeared to be wearing away. Be aware of the bathrooms, too. The men's room looked positively gross. As of my writing, one of the the soda machines was out of order also. This appears to be a great place to have a barbecue and to run around wild, or perhaps to walk or run laps. Kids who play openly probably will never notice my issues, but adults should just keep an eye open for potential problems. For Lebanon residents, this is a nice little place: there are plenty of places in other cities which are just as good. This was not worth the trip from Hermitage, when Cumberland Park downtown and Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet are much closer. read more

Newer, nicely maintained park. Has splash pool and the coolest fort I have ever seen for the youngsters. There's a nice, wide, level, paved trail for walking or bike riding. (Another web site claims the track is 2.5 miles in length.) They also have a couple of sand volleyball pits and a 9 station outdoor fitness circuit. read more

We were here visiting family for a few days, We were coming from MI and wanted to check out a park/splash pad area for our 1 & 3 year old. IT WAS SO HOT the week we came to visit. Anyways, we looked up this park and WOW!!!!! This is the best park ever and we've been to a lot! And the wadding pool was so nice!!! I wish we had those around our house instead of just a regular splash pad, literally. And it was FREE! The kids (and I) loved it! read more

This is an awsome park that was origionally build by volonteers with a love of children. I love the fact NO PETs are allowed. This park is for children and familys. There is a dog park across the street from the high school on Hartman drive if you want a dog at the park. There is a new main play center that is just awsome! They have a slash pad and rest rooms.Thank you all that made that possible. read more

I want to love this park but it seems that each time we go there are issues that I wish were not present at a park. For one, the last time we visited there was a parent smoking in the interior castle playground area. I'm not arguing the rights of smokers but it seems like it would be an easy thing to move outside of the playground to a nearby bench to have your cigarette. Secondly, there always seem to be teenagers around that are loudly using terrible language. The last conversation I heard only because I was playing with my 4 and 2 year old while the teenagers were leaned against the fence surrounding the playground was a group of guys and girls and the girls detailing who they had and had not f#%^ed. There is just really no reason for those conversations right by the kids playground. The park is massive, go have those talks elsewhere. I realize that I can't shield my kids forever but I don't think it's too much to ask for them not to have to hear f bombs on the playground. read more
