There is no better place than Old Salem. We've been taking our dogs there for going on 9-10 years…read more We know they are taken care of and are safe. Todd is amazing with them - all we have to do is tell them they're going to see Todd and they immediately begin to bark, run to the truck, jump in and out and do the same sorts of things when we arrive. It's a bit of a drive for us but well worth it when we pick them up and they're still happy boys. We tried a couple of other kennels with our first two German Shepherds but they just didn't quite measure up - unless Todd closes down (please NO!), he'll continue seeing the Kole dogs on a regular basis. Thank you, Todd, for such an awesome safe place for all the fur babies you've kept over the years! L. Kole

Main Street Vet - We had to let go of our sweet, sweet Bleu last night. But the staff at Main St. Vet made the whole experience so much more bearable.

Three of my dogs got bit by a snake....scary right...need I say more, lol, but I will. On Thursday…read morelate evening 5/12, three of my dogs came inside and we immediately noticed extreme swelling in their faces. They were only outside a short period of time, so I was able to narrow down a time frame and immediately gave them Benadryl. At NO point were they in ANY distress respiratory or otherwise. We stayed up all night monitoring them until we could get them to their vet in the morning. Here is where the story gets crazy. Two of my three dogs are patients at MainStreet Vet and one WAS a patient at JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC (Jackson, Ga.). Long story but for now we will leave it at that. Anyway, I live about an hour away from MainStreet vet so myself and my daughter began the drive at 7 am with the two MainStreet vet patients to be there right at opening time, 8am. My husband was planning to take our third dog to her vet, JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC, so we thought!! My husband called JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC and spoke to Heather. Heather advised him he could not bring THEIR patient there as there was only one vet that day and he needed to take her to the emergency vet as they don't have anti-venom and he will be in surgery as soon as he comes in. (By the way, this was at 7:45 am when he called, and the ER vet closes at 8 am., the closest ER vet to us is about an hour away.) My husband called and let me know about this. I advised him I would try to get her in at MainStreet but she isn't a patient there and this is a walk in situation, however, if they could take her, we would just go ahead and transfer ALL of our dogs from there to MainStreet as JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC clearly is not concerned with the welfare of animals MUCH LESS patients!!! Back to our travel to MainStreet Vet. As soon as the door was being unlocked, I was at the door speaking to Liz. I advised her of the snake bites and the issue with our other dog being a patient at JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC and they were REFUSING to see her. Liz WITHOUT hesitation, said...BRING THEM IN NOW and we will see them ASAP! We have doctors that will/can definitely see them! Liz advised the only thing she needed was the vet records sent from JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC and it would be NO ISSUE at all. I immediately called JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC and transferred ALL records to MainStreet Vet as all my dogs were transferred that day to MainStreet. I spoke to Kaitlyn at JACKSON VETERINARY CLINIC, and she of course tried to change my mind and distort what my husband was told on the phone and asked if I wanted the office manager to call me. I advised her no one needed to call my phone as I will be making a compliant online publicly and privately emailing the veterinarians. This was a lot to say but the main thing is that I want people and the veterinarians that work at MainStreet Vet to know what SUPERIOR service and attention your staff gives each of the animals they come into contact with, oh yeh and their owners..lol. My three dogs who got bit by a snake were taken in immediately and treated with such compassion, care, love and attention that I am unable to even find words to express how that makes me feel as a pet parent. Specifically, Liz, Stormy, and another young front end lady (my apologies, cannot remember her name but she was Caucasian, blonde and such a great, friendly personality) all were amazing beyond words. I have never had an issue at MainStreet and trust me, my dogs are prone to being bad and accident prone...lol. The staff and vet(s) have always taken to time to take exceptional care each time I am there. It could be for routine shots or because a snake bit them...but either way it is CONSISTENT, AMAZING CARE every time. My hope is that people reading this take their animals to MainStreet Vet, Madison, Ga. as they are the epitome of quality care for your fur-family!!! And for the veterinarians of this practice, I suggest privately and publicly recognizing their staff to let them know just how awesome they are and what they do makes a difference!!!!

I demanded that they do better, then they sent in some lady with a bill for 600.00 and demanded payment... I declined and said you need to do your job and find out what's wrong. Then they did a blood test and said she had nothing wrong with her, which I knew was a lie... I told them to send me a bill and have sent two emails with no response. When I took her to my regular vet we found out she has a potential carcinoma on her urinary tract... don't go to this Main Street, they don't care about you or your animal, only money.

We never disputed a charge and always kept our account paid and up to date. We had an injured donkey that literally couldn't walk and Dr. Brown came out that day and told us that she just had a bruised heel. It seemed odd for how much pain she seemed to be in but we believed her and put her on bute and contained her in a small area as she suggested. A few days later we called her out again because there had been no improvement and she said it was because our farrier had not trimmed her feet often enough. We knew this was not correct because we just had her trimmed and the injury was very sudden. We just tried to do our best and keep her contained and on pain medication. They next week we were on vacation a couple of weeks in Japan and the barn manager called them out. Dr. Brown did over $600.00 worth of X-rays without calling us to authorize and still did not diagnose her. When we returned our farrier came out and told us she had two bowed tendons. He is familiar with Dr. Carter and was so shocked that Dr. Brown had not known that immediately the day it happened he said he would call personally to help us dispute the X-ray charge. We have attempted six times to speak with Dr. Brown or Dr. Carter regarding this and they refuse to contact us. We received a notice from a collection company for the $600 00 bill instead. Dr. Brown misdiagnosed two other horses at the barn at which we boarded; one was a simple thrush issue that she padded the bill to over $1,000 and another was a tooth surgery where she damaged an eye during the surgery and billed to remedy the mistake she made into the thousands. This was also price gouging a different non-profit. It's sad to think they would lose a loyal client for over ten years over a $600 mistake that they are responsible for.

Incredibly standoffish at first, my cat became perfectly comfortable around Jacob very quickly. I was away for nearly 2 weeks. Jacob only took about 1 or 2 days for my cat to get acclimated to him. Fast forward 4 months later (a much shorter trip that I'll be on, and still a naturally skittish cat) but he remembers Jacob!! Usually he hides for a while but he seems to have immediately smelled Jacob's scent and felt comfortable with coming out sayin' hello and possibly having a bit of play time. I'm so happy to know that Travis can happily expect someone he trusts and looks forward to seeing! The best part of this service is the photos and real time text updates during the appointments. A serious A+ for communication. You can call in, text, discuss everything with him down to whichever specifications necessary (i.e food, behavior, etc). Nothing beats seeing your little one in real time via photos and understanding how they're doing through direct messages from the person that's taking care of them. It's a huge amount of stress off of your shoulders during a trip away. You've been fantastic Crate Escape! Thanks for making me feel secure that my little guy is taken care of and feeling good :)
