My Pets through out the years have been patients of record at MVS. I called MVS last Friday evening with a Pet Emergency and was told there was a 6 hour wait to be seen. Update to my original 5 star review from 9 years ago: We were planning on putting one of our cats down at home through another area vet, but our cat took a turn for the worst 2 days prior, so we had to take her to the emergency vet. It was my first time at their new location, and everything went much better than I had anticipated. Parking was a breeze, the space was very clean and comfortable, every staff person we dealt with was very kind and compassionate, and they made the process as easy as possible given the situation. They even sent a personal sympathy card. They made us feel like they knew us and our cat for years. I still highly recommend Madison Vet Specialists & Emergency care for emergency needs (we see a different vet for regular vet services, so I'm unable to comment on that). Thank you! Over a month has passed since our January emergency visit that left us dissatisfied with care provided for our dog, Bella, who has liver disease. While we truely appreciated a thoughtful follow-up call from Marjan, who was personable and compassionate, there are clear areas where the clinic could improve the overall client experience, particularly in communication and bedside manner. We chose to give the clinic a second chance and continue Bella's liver care with the specialist we had been seening for a number of months, surrounding some ongoing concerning behavior; the same concerning behavior that had brought us to the emergency room in January, roughly a month or so earlier. The evening before our visit, Bella vomited all of her food twice, and we reported this to the clinic. From this point through the following day, she did not eat due to the planned ultrasound. Testing revealed that her liver disease had progressed, she was entering liver failure, and she had fluid in her abdomen. In retrospect, this is entirely a missed opportunity to identify her condition earlier, given the clinic having both her emergency visit and specialty internist's records. A more proactive, holistic approach & sharing information between the ER team and internist, could have & should have prompted the internist to follow up with proposed care/ testing. Instead, our return visit (for ultrasound) was prompted solely by our persistent concern about Bella's behavior. Can't highlight this enough, that it was a missed opportunity for attentive, high standard care. After the two-hour drive home from the ultrasound, we discovered that Bella was profoundly lethargic and virtually lifeless. She remained mostly unresponsive well into the following morning, unresponsive to the point where you think "is she alive". We learned, after much later prompting, that she did not respond to water offered at the facility, yet at discharge no verbal guidance, or written instructions was provided regarding monitoring for dehydration, monitoring severe lethargy or any other signs of concern. We had no idea she had been given butorphanol. We only discovered this by reviewing the invoice and researching the medication ourselves in response to her severe, non-responsive behavior. Yes, we could have called Madison vet, but had we been proactively educated & informed, we could have understood sedative behavior, and prolonged effects, particularly in dogs with liver disease who may metabolize it more slowly. The intensity of Bella's reaction was alarming and raises serious concerns about the lack of communication. This is now the second serious communication failure from the Madison team. After spending over $15,000 in the past several months--including $1,926 for this visit--it is not unreasonable to expect clear verbal & written discharge instructions, especially when sedatives are administered to a medically fragile patient. No one informed us that she had been sedated. No one advised us to monitor for profound lethargy, lack of responsiveness, or what to do if she does not respond to food or water, or when urgent veterinary care might be required. This morning with minimal response and still no water intake we were not going to make the long trip to Madison Vet to resolve things, that would have been a long and stressful trip for Bella & we had lost confidence. We were forced to spend our entire day at another local emergency clinic, incurring an additional $500 expense for IV fluids in attempts to stabilize her. We cannot recommend the Madison Emergency clinic unless they make substantial improvements in communication, bedside manner and discharge protocols for medically fragile patients. This experience has been exhausting for us and we expect more from a team that projects expertise in specialty & emergency pet care. read more

INCREDIBLY kind and thorough staff! They immediately understood what to look for with our miniature dachshund, and, instead of doing what most vet offices would do, they didn't say they needed to run lots of tests in order to profit more. The only thing that is a negative is that if you give them your cell phone number, you will get automatic notices pretty much non-stop. So just tell them kindly several times to not text messages. My dog underwent a MPL/TPLO surgery as a result of a luxating patella and torn CCL. Dr. Silbernagel and his team did a fantastic job. I had A LOT of questions prior to the procedure, and they spent as much time as I needed providing thorough answers. We also needed some additional documentation for our pet insurance, and they went above and beyond getting us exactly what we needed (which resulted in payment after a denial!). If you have an alternative, go somewhere else. You can not believe anything that is said to you. Our Great Dane fell down the stairs in the northern part of the state and he wasn't able to use his back legs. We saw an Emergency Vet in Eagle River, and they recommended traveling to Madison to meet with MVS. We called the evening that the accident occurred to seek advice on how long our dog could go without peeing. We were advised to be there first thing in the morning if he was not able to pee. He did end up peeing that night, so the peeing concern was not top of mind. We called MVS the next morning to alert them that we were bringing our dog on the 3 hour journey. They asked us to get his records from the emergency vet sent to them in advance of our arrival. We ended up talking at least 4 more times that morning, and alerted MVS to the fact that we were due to arrive by 2. We arrived by 1:30 and saw a vet by the name of Max. Max apologized to us that there was a breakdown in communication and they could not now (after driving 3 hours) see our dog. We were told the neurologists accepted a walkin appointment and would spend the rest of the day with the walkin. When I reminded Max that we had spoken with Toni 4 or 5 times that morning, and he conveyed to us that they were waiting for our arrival. Max's response was again to apologize but insisted that neither he nor anyone at the clinic could do ANYTHING for us. At that point, I asked to talk to the medical director and was told that they refused to talk with me. I was to hear from the medical director in the next couple of days. A couple of days has now passed and I have not received a call or email. The final straw was when they brought our dog out to us, they had improperly put a muzzle on him, and he was biting his tongue bad enough to be dripping blood from his mouth. Our dog is the gentlest dog imaginable, and if staff there felt that he posed a threat to their safety, at a minimum, they should have checked with us. We had previously had a very good experience with MVS, but either staff have changed, management has changed, or they are so lax in operation experience that staff lacks training to actually tell each other what they are committing to. There is no excuse to ask us to drive 3 hours to see experts at MVS and then turn us away because they forgot we were coming. Go someplace else. read more

ive waited to write a review its been a bit but, im still not over what I experienced at this facility my Shiloh Shepherd had hurt his back while playing, we brought him in immediately and they said that he needed surgery right away well $12,000 dollars later and multiple visits and rehab they let me know that my dog fell into the 5% category and will never walk my Shiloh Shepherd was my world I rescued him from a life of kennel living and he finally had freedom and was only 6 years old my dog was used to teach and used for the students learning I will never get over this. I would have never put my dog through this if I would have known please be careful..after surgery I went to multiple rehab visits an hour drive both ways and put my dog through so much just to be a teaching experiment and that was my world and it will always haunt me read more

I was bringing my cat as a transfer to MVS directly from my regular vet. She had specifically spoken to Dr. Keller at MVS about the situation my cat was in, the testing she had done, and the plan we had discussed for treatment. At MVS, my cat was quickly taken back and I waited for an extended period of time (over an hour?) which was fine as I assumed an exam and additional testing was being done. When a clinician came to talk to me, it was Dr. Graham instead of Dr. Keller. Dr. Graham spoke in a way that made it seem as though he had more test information he was basing our conversation on. I made some comments about him having more information than my primary vet, and he did not correct me. At one point I asked him directly if there was any chance my cat had some kind of infection, or if this was definitely some kind of cancer. He answered very clearly and definitively that there was no way this was just an infection, that it had to be some form of cancer. Based on that, I said I would take Jester with me to have euthanasia done at my regular vet or at home. Dr. Graham thanked me for making the decision to euthanize. While I waited for them to bring my cat out from the back, I called my husband to tell him the bad news and called my regular vet to let her know I was coming back to her clinic for euthanasia. A short time later, while I was driving, my regular vet called me back and informed me that she had spoken to Dr. Graham and he had not done any additional testing, and he did not even have all of the records and information that was relevant to the case. He had not spoken to Dr. Keller to get any of the information that had been conveyed verbally and was not yet included in the record sent to MVS. My regular vet conferred with another vet and when she had spoken to Dr.Keller, they all agreed that there was a solid chance that it was a serious infection and not necessarily cancer, but treatment needed to be started in case it was an infection and further testing needed to be done. This all happened on Wednesday morning/early afternoon. At the time I am writing this, it is Thursday night. My cat is still alive and is slowly but steadily improving with treatment for an abscess and possible sepsis. If my regular vet had not been willing or able to follow through and go above and beyond to look out for him, my cat would be dead now. He would be dead because of a transfer protocol not being followed and because Dr. Graham, as a representative of MVS, leapt to conclusions, did not do his due diligence, may not have even looked at the animal in question, and wrote off another vet's hesitation to diagnose cancer as nothing more than her inability to accept it. The way our case was handled at MVS caused a delay of at least two hours, probably longer, in my cat getting the life-saving treatment he needed. It also caused added stress to an already extremely stressful situation for both myself and my cat, to put it mildly. In addition, I paid an emergency exam fee to an institution that essentially provided no service. I still don't know what the ultimate outcome will be for my cat, but whatever happens, MVS can only take credit for endangering him. I realize that one clinician and one incident of an abysmally handled transfer do not mean that the entire institution should be boycotted, but it is irresponsible for MVS to continue to employ a clinician who is unprofessional and egotistical enough to do what Dr. Graham did, and I will not be returning and I will not recommend this institution to anyone just in case they are assigned to Dr. Graham. read more

I wish I could rate them higher. We had a weekend emergency with one of our small dogs. The treatment and services received were excellent, Dr. Strauss was terrific. The experience AT THE TIME was a good one. Payment is due at the time of service, so when I checked out, I was told an amount. I wasn't given an itemization of services, but I gladly handed over my AmEx card and left believing I had paid in full. Fast forward a week, and I get an email with a higher final charge, telling me I'd be turned to collections if the balance wasn't paid. After reviewing their new invoice, it became clear to me that at the time of check out, THEY had mad a billing error. I spoke with Kayla in client services. If at any point she had apologetically admitted that they screwed up at check out, our phone call would have ended much differently. But - even though she wasn't there and had no idea what had transpired - she continued to insist that we HAD been given the higher amount at check out, and that we had elected to pay 83% of it as a "down payment" instead of paying in full. Why would I do that? The simple answer is: I wouldn't. It's clear that their own policies and procedures weren't followed, and their office staff is more interested in saving face by insisting I was confused, rather than admitting they screwed up and apologizing for the inconvenience. Your pet will be in good hands if you need their services, but mind your wallet. Ask for an itemization of services when you check out, and insist that they mark your receipt PAID IN FULL. read more

Too Bad negative stars isn't an option - The communication problem in other posts continues into 2025 for MVS. The OnCologist Rachel McMahon wouldn't provide pallitive care prescriptions because I used a local pharmacy rather than their pharmacy. They ignored my pharmacies request and forced me to bring my dog in despite that she hates going to the vet and showed NO symptoms or issues to order a blood draw for more than $400 showing there was no problem. They are the defition of Fraud, waste and abuse in healthcare. On the communication side Dr. McMahon wanted more advanced notice for refills, so I did a full week and a half early knowing a holiday week was coming, she accused me or abusing the medication and wouldn refill after she complained 4 days wasn't enough notice to write a prescription to a dog dying of cancer. Horrific experience and I hope anyone reading this review takes their business elsewhere. read more

I came in with my older dog suffering a stroke or seizure. I was accused by a technician, in the lobby, in front of other pet owners of allowing my dog to ingest marijuana. When I told her that was impossible, she acted is if I was lying and continued her interrogation, again in the lobby, in front of other pet owners. They separated me from my dog, taking him to an exam room and left me in the lobby. In 40 years of dog ownership have never been separated from my dog during a vet exam. I find it difficult to believe a vet can make a proper examination with only second hand info from a tech. When I finally met with the vet on duty, she wanted to keep the dog for the balance the weekend ($1,500 per night just for hospital stay) to conduct tests for heart, kidney or neurological function. When asked if they did identify a cause would they be able to treat him, the answer was that due to his advanced age it was questionable. I elected to not proceed with these expensive procedures which would likely be a waste of money and traumatic to the dog. I was told to wait in the lobby while they retrieved my dog. The tech then read aloud the discharge papers, in the lobby, in front of the other pet owners, stating I have elected to not treat my pet, and reiterated her suspicion of marijuana ingestion. It felt like a shaming exercise. Overall, a terrible experience. There are many other options in the area. I suggest you avoid these people. read more

The team recommended I bring my dog in. Made the trip, intake was ok. I gave permission to inject a sedative to calm my golden. They took us to a room where we waited. Thirty minutes later the tech(?) stopped by to let us know the doc would be in shortly(?). After another 30 mins took the dog outside for a potty break. Back to the room. Went to the desk. Asked how long to see the doctor. Was told SIX hours. Paid bill. Noticed a catscan on the bill which I didn't know about. Decided to leave. Asked if a scan was done and found something, would the doc call me? They said ONLY if I stayed to see the doc. How asinine! They refunded $78, which leads me to believe ia scan wasn't done. Never told what to expect for injection effects. Extremely bad experience. Won't Ever go back. read more

Was so upset at how much they charged and still no answers to my dogs symptoms.I now have to euthanize my baby and what a crock with the.They start out by charging an ER fee, even tho they told me that's their recommendation, then cremation only comes Tuesday & thurs.so if your dog gets euthanized on weds, they charge u $50 to keep dog over night, besides the er visit then charges u to see a Dr before euthanizing.when I said that's ridiculous you already told me this has to be one,the rude lady says it's law.ridiculos.Everything I asked, had a pricetag.so close to 6-700 bucks for a small 21lb dog.What a total rip off & taking advantage in your sad time.I went somewhere else,that had a less ignorant stance.What a raquet. read more

We took our beloved boy in for an emergency visit because he became suddenly lame in his front leg. I was met with Julia Bates, who is one of the founding partners of the clinic, believing we were in good hands. Right away, it didn't appear she was totally "with it", asking us the same question twice. She explained that we would have to leave him there and he will be put under anesthesia for an ultrasound and CT Scan. Shaken, but putting all of our trust into Julia, we left the clinic and waited with baited breath all day for a phone call back. Later in the afternoon, we came to pick him up and to go over the results with Julia. She explained that she took a CT Scan of his chest area. Puzzled, because we had specifically came in for the problem area which was in his front leg. She also didn't provide any discharge or follow-up care information and instead just walked out of the room. We ended having to get a second opinion because we weren't confident in the care we received and believed that Julia failed to reach a crucial diagnosis. The second opinion at another Veterinary clinic game a more definitive diagnosis, voiding the prior CT Scan as you can guess because it was in the completely incorrect scope. I had to call the clinic over a dozen times, each time being funneled by different front desk personnel. You do not have direct access to the vets there, you have to leave a message with a staff and hope that your call will be returned. Being an emergency clinic, you would think that they would have a sense of urgency in returning calls, but this was clearly not the case here. Unhappy and advised by other veterinarians we consulted that this is not the proper handling of such a sensitive case, we left a strongly-worded message to speak with the administration. On par with our experience thus far, Barbara, the administrator was just as difficult to formulate a consistent chain of communication with. She had promised to return our message, "Definitely, before the end of the day Friday". However, it was I that had to reach out the following Monday to follow-up. I explained my dismay with Barbara, inquiring if this is how the entire hospital operates; lackadaisical and indifferent to their patients. I remarked how I couldn't understand how in their profession, that they could be so non-responsive and if I operated as such in my line of work, I would be terminated. Barbara, snarked back, "Oh yeah? What line of work are you in?", I replied that I was in the professional financial service industry, which seemed to give some credibility to my statement as she retreated back from her previous statement. Not only would I recommend you to AVOID this place at all costs, I caution you against bringing your beloved companion here if you truly care of getting the best possible care. I had an appointment for my dog to be evaluated for laryngeal paralysis. They told me not to feed her after hours the night before. The appointment was a complete disappointment. They did not examine her and tell me how advanced/etc her condition was. No reappointment conversation; just information I already had from her referring vet. I'll only go back to VCA in Middleton for emergency care. I also had to request a copy of her appointment summery. They charged me $160 for a very lousy exam. Go to VCA in Middleton before you consider this place. read more

I've taken my dogs to Madison Vet Specialists long before the name changed--1980s. From minor wounds to major wounds (raccoon family vs dogs) requiring surgery, chest tubes, multiple day stay and last year dog with pneumonia and dx with metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma (another multiple day stay) and sadly, a couple dogs for euthanasia. EVERYONE is polite, friendly, kind and knowledgeable. They are the first emergency clinic and I will not take my dogs to another emergency vet. My only constructive comment: they need a transport stretcher to help with animals from vehicle into and around the clinic. read more

I want to give a second review for Dr. Bates and the medical staff. While there was a lot of miscommunication about the lab results and I do still stand by my first review, I know this is not the fault of the medical staff. They did an amazing job taking care of my son in one of the scariest moments of his life (and mine). My cat is a rescue, so he scares easily, and the doctors and nurses did a great job making sure he was comfortable. I hate that it had to come to a not so great review to resolve this situation, but I want to say thank you Dr. Bates for taking the time to get in touch with me and ensuring we understood the next steps! read more

Late on Saturday evening my 13 year old yellow lab, who I knew was at the end of his life, was in pain. He had had a bad day stumbling and had difficulty getting up. He now was unable to right himself and thrashing about and fearful as well. We knew he was old and we had been expecting this moment would come. We wanted to enjoy life with him as long as possible. We also know the the life expectancy of a lab is 10 - 12 years. We headed to Madison Veterinary Specialists. My husband called and advised them we were on the way. He explained we had an older lab who was in pain and 13 years old and at the end of his life. She said they would be waiting and would do an exam and evaluate. He again said no exam the dog is old and in pain. We don't want him to be in pain. We were prepared and wanted him to have his pain relieved so we could spend a few minutes with him to say good by and then have him euthanized. When we arrived 2 people met us. We told them he couldn't walk and was in pain and thrashing. They got a backboard and carried him into the building. We met the receptionist in the lobby and again said we wanted him to be relieved of his pain and explained his age and circumstance. i signed a paper to have a paw print made and do the procedure. I told her I wanted to be with him. I was then brought into a room and told someone would be with us shortly. About 20 minutes later a Dr came in and said my dog was probably experiencing vertigo or a seizure and began talking about the possibility of rehab. I explained he was 13 years old in 2 days. I know unfortunately you can't rehab age. We again said we wanted his pain relieved and then to be with him to say good bye. It was another hour and then we were frustrated and decided to move into the hall and ask why it was taking so long. They put us in another room and said they would bring him in. after another 10 minute wait they did bring him in. He was still strapped to the backboard and had not been given anything for pain. The medication was with them however when they brought him in. They took off his straps and he again began flailing. I held him and it calmed him if I covered his eyes and pet him. My husband and I decided we didn't want the sedation any longer. At this point it had been 2 hours since we arrived and I couldn't prolong his pain any longer. I know the meds they give before the Euthanasia would relieve his pain and we would have a chance to be with him before they had to give him the final meds to end his life. Everyone was very nice and well meaning. I just wish they would have listened to us. I love this dog and he didn't have an accident or sickness. He had a long, happy, very loved life. Local vet told me absolutely no chance surgery would help - too late - but all they did was ask after dropping him off for surgery they suggested - "have you changed mind?" - why would I change mind if possibility of saving my dog? All I got was relief he survived the incision but tumor too large to remove - so he came home with me - thank GOD - and died in my arms in bed that same night. I wish I had brought dog earlier - no ones fault but mine - GOD is in control always. read more

I came to this clinic with my 13-year-old black Lab, Woodrow, who was having trouble with his left eye that we feared was glaucoma. Our regular vet recommended we see Dr. Pauli at MVS. Here is the note I wrote to MVS as soon as we got home: "Thank you so much for seeing Woodrow, my black Lab, at your clinic. From the front door until the time we left, you treated us with friendliness, gentleness, and professional skill. Your reception staff are super-personable and so is Gianna, your vet tech (dig the purple hair). At the risk of sounding shallow, I have to say again Dr. Pauli is the best-dressed vet ever (the peach-colored velvet heels!), and most importantly she took her time examining Woodrow, assessing his condition, explaining it to me in a way I could easily understand, answering my questions, coming up with a treatment plan, and not only emailing me her comprehensive notes but forwarding them to our home vet. I wish we didn't live so far away so I could always bring Woodrow to MVS. Thank you for being there. OH--and, I almost forgot, MVS worked with my schedule to get us an emergency appointment, since I had to travel the following week for a family medical issue. Found MVS via Google while passing through town after our pup was bitten in the face by another dog. The late-night ER staff was very friendly and accommodating, and we were pleased with the service overall. The two things we weren't keen about were: 1. Doc didn't examine our pup in front of us, which we found unusual, and 2) the markup on Clavamox was insane (greater than 3x the online price and more than the office visit), but we didn't want to take chances. Would recommend, despite feeling ripped off on the Rx. It's also worth noting that MVS cared enough to give us a follow-up call, which we really appreciated. read more

We have had a very rough few days with our cat Lexi. She was in horrible kidney failure that was had gone undiagnosed until we brought her to MVS on Friday night. This was the best worst experience we could've ever had. The entire staff was so kind and compassionate in the last few days of Lexi's life. From Julia that took my first phone call to Kore, Arizona, Abbey, Monica, Nicole, Drs. Beyer, Stickland, Jenkins, Keith and I know there's definitely more names I can't remember. Especially nurse Justin and Dr. Calhoun who were with us in her final moments and made my husband and I feel like they really truly cared. Our family appreciates each and every one of them and the tough and often thankless job they do every single day. A few weeks ago our dog was injured at the park and needed sedation for a laceration repair and we had gone to a different emergency clinic...they took care of him well, but the staff didn't seem nearly as engaged or friendly as they were at MVS. Even though the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for with our kitty, we will be telling everyone we know to come here if they ever need emergency or specialty services of any kind! read more

While vet tech explained how to take pills she accidentally spilled a whole bottle on the floor. I requested to change them since my dog had an acute GI problem and vomit. I stated that Doctor emphasized the GI problems could be from the viruses as well. The tech agreed to change. While she was gone I found 2 more pills laying on the ground. I am extremely upset by the level of care my kitten received at MVS. If my kitten were a human, MVS' treatment would constitute malpractice. Potentially because of their actions, my kitten may not survive. At a minimum, I have to put my kitten in very expensive intensive care ($1000+) for the next 24-48 hours as the condition went too long without proper treatment. Here's the full story. My boyfriend first took my then 15 week old kitten in on Saturday, July 16th. A male doctor (I do not know his name) prescribed an antibiotic for an upper respiratory infection. Fine. I have no problem with the treatment during this visit. Over the following week, my kitten's respiratory symptoms worsened. Instead of just coughing, he also starts wheezing. He almost completely stops playing. On Friday, July 22nd, I therefore take him back in to MVS and off antibiotics per the instructions on the package. On that visit, my kitten saw Dr. Bates who seemed to think he had improved and could wait to see a regular vet with whom I had an appointment the following Wednesday. Dr. Bates mentioned he likely needed to be dewormed again but that was it. No concern about the lack of improvement in his respiratory symptoms at all. No additional medication or treatment prescribed. No concern that he had not gained any weight (this is apparently a red flag with kittens). I was still very concerned as he was wheezing a lot by Saturday, July 23rd and not playing at all. I thus did my best to get an appointment with a regular vet ASAP. The best I could do was to get him into a vet on Tuesday afternoon. The regular vet is ALARMED almost immediately once she sees him. Not only has he got a severe pneumonia, he's about half the weight he is supposed to be for his age. She explains that his best chance for SURVIVAL is to go into an oxygen chamber. That's where he is now. It is possible that my kitten's pneumonia is being caused by an underlying condition that is not treatable. We are still figuring out whether that's the case but, obviously, that is not the vet's fault. However, I feel MVS had an obligation to do a more thorough exam of my kitten and explain the potential situation to me. I am angry that they instead chose to just ignore the symptoms and tell me he was fine. I did not know that he was underweight and that a failure to gain weight in a kitten is quite so big a deal as it apparently is. They should have noted that and been concerned. Just shooing him out the door is completely unacceptable. Taking my kitten in the second time was worse than not having taken him in at all. Had they said they were unwilling to see him a second time, I would have taken him to a different emergency vet who would have acknowledged that he was not doing OK. read more

I had to take my dog in on a Sunday after he hurt his leg. The staff members were incredibly thoughtful, kind, and helpful. My dog has some anxiety issues and he was whining and shaking in the waiting room. They took us to a private room right away so my dog could wait in a calm environment. The vet was thorough, she explained everything clearly, and I felt that Bently had received top-notch care. We left with the medication he needed and detailed instructions of how to help him heal. They forwarded the notes from our visit to his primary care vet. I highly recommend MVS! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the wait time was long, but it was worth it. read more

Who knew that there were veterinary specialists like ophthalmologists? I sure didn't, but when our vet sent us here for our dog's glaucoma, I was happy to learn something new. Long story short, we've had consultations, surgery, and now regular follow-ups. I am so extremely appreciative for Dr. Tuttle and his team for the surgery and the personalized care they provided for my dog. We adopted our pitbull 2 months ago and we noticed that he started limping. Our vet referred us to the staff at MVS for their expertise in small animal surgery. From the moment we took our dog in from check up to CT scan, to surgery, to post op care, I felt as though my dog was in excellent care. They are very caring and loving. Dr. Tuttle called me personally the day after each appointment to check up on my dog. After the surgery, my dog had to stay overnight and I must have called at least 4 times to check how he was doing, and they were very attentive to my concerns and needs! After the surgery, the vet asisstant even helped me put my dog in my car as he was still loopy from the anesthesia (My dog is big and my car is also big, so I definitely needed assistance). They provided me with a detailed 2 page document on post op care, which has been extremely helpful. An added bonus, my dog loved every single person he met at MVS as well. They return calls when they say they will and are very prompt. I never had to wait too long. I cannot express how much I trust and am appreciative to this group of people. I love their availability, easy access from the beltline. Very professional and caring. They have great blood bank for emergency cases and are very knowledgeable. They make follow up calls to check how your pet is doing after the visit and give great advices and compassion to pet owners (we get a little "crazy" when are pets are sick). read more

Our cat has to be admitted for a urethral obstruction and MVS took great care of him. It was during COVID19 which was stressful because we couldn't visit him in the hospital, but we felt confident that he was getting the best care possible. Communication was phenomenal. The staff gave us phone updates twice a day and encouraged us to call any time if we wanted another update. We are so happy that our cat is healthy at home now. Thank you MVS! read more
