    Lunch Buffet

Madras Mantra is a classic Indian vegetarian spot! Their lunch buffet is great: $20 for a good diversity of choices from all over India. When we went, some of my favorites were the mushroom manchurian, crispy vadas & hot rasam, methi paneer, and eggplant & potato curry. Can't forget the great desserts either: gulab jamun, kheer, and fruit salad. Only thing that's missing that I'd love is a chaat station. Service was fast, with steaming food being refilled regularly. Ambiance is nice, lots of seating. There's a large parking lot. 10/10 would recommend!

I had a friend tell me about this place & I was pretty disappointed. It's cool it's vegetarian but a lot of the food just wasn't great. Some of it was cold & not fresh. The service isn't really there at all & not too friendly. I don't see myself going back again.

What can I say. Every weekend I am craving their buffet and it is a treat. Get there a little early - around noon to prevent rush hour - around 1pm. You pay at the entrance (and don't forget to order your filter coffee too). Their menu is quite plentiful with a huge selection of options (all vegetarian ofcourse). Some staples: Masala dosa, idli, wada, fruit custard but they have different North Indian and South Indian menu items in addition. Flavor is bang on, food is hot and replenished often. I'd say roughly 20 items to chose from - which is a lot. I always go there hungry and come back stuffed. You cannot go wrong - for the price ($20 bucks or so) it's a steal. Low key, casual environment so don't expect much - just go with an empty belly and you won't be disappointed!

Solid food! First time here. I was really excited to have so many options as a vegan. I also just love Indian food so it was good to try a new-to-me spot. I'm so boring and get the same few things, but my friend and I did try the medu vada and I rly enjoyed them! What a nice soft texture inside and the three chutneys were delicious, offering a good balance of sweet, spicy and herby. For my main, I had the tadka dal. I asked for spicy and the level was perfect for me. Consistency was good, runny enough to dip the naan in, while still having some substance from the lentils. I have no complaints. Service was good, the place was clean and spacious and the food all tasted fresh and flavorful.

All the food we ordered were so good and fresh. Many people in the restaurant at 8pm on a Sunday. Glad they are doing well.

This is one of my favorite places to eat when I'm either working in the area or even just going north on 285 at the right time. I had another great vegetarian lunch there today. The gentleman that works the counter is always very kind and is starting to recognize me. They do a great job keeping the buffet well stocked. These pictures that I took today aren't the best photos and weren't intended for yelp, but for me to remember what all they had, when my wife asks me tonight! Since I took them, I might as well share them. Check out this great place that's also a great value at $12.99 Tuesday thru Friday.

I've been to the Marietta location, but this was my first time here. There are of course numerous other Indian restaurants in the area, but this one offers a distinctive and large South Indian menu that I think is well worth trying. It wasn't the most amazing service experience as they were struggling to open up on time and no one was rushing over to take my order, but the food itself delivered. I'd never had an idli in chaat form, but that delivered an interesting experience heavy on the yogurt. Of their numerous dosas, I ordered the house special, and it was indeed a special filling with delightful black chickpeas, mung bean sprouts, fried noodles, and all manner of flavors. And that's before you start adding in the chutneys and sambar. These things are an embarrassment of riches when done right. So much flavor.

They have increased their prices and significantly dropped the quality of food served. I do not recommend and I will not revisit. Thank you.

Still the best Naan In Atlanta, now I'm a big fan of the Buffett and sometimes just pick up Samosas for the family.

A very differently tasting food serving restaurant with all the flavorful North Indian main dishes…read more(Vegetarian only) at a very reasonable price and a pretty good ambience, then this should be the place for you. Would have gone past this building a 100 times and never did I notice this restaurant. Got here because someone recommended and it was very much worth it. Dine in at 7:30 PM was great with very less crown on a Thursday. THE FOOD: We ordered the North Indian Thali (says it's available until 3PM, looks like it's available through the dinner time as well). Was served in a nice Wooden board with Rice, Achar (pickle), Boondhi Raitha, Tandoori Roti (was soo good), Aloo Gobi masala, Shahi Paneer, Chole, Dhal Tadka and Paapad. The Chole was tasing so different and I guess it's the Amritsari Chole. The Shahi Paneer was top notch and Dal tadka as well. AlooGobi was super spicy but the taste was good. The single Roti piece is definitely not enough I feel, and would require another to complete the thali. Slightly pricey there I feel. We also got a AlooTikki Chaat and that tasted really good. The quantity was pretty much good for one person. I would say the spice levels were spot on. Not too much spicy (Honest these days are making it very spicy) or bland. Good quantity and sat well on the tummy. And literally did see a family enjoying their food very much and gave a very nice feeling while we were waiting for our food. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The ambience was very much nice with all colorful wall paintings and aesthetics and wall hangings. Well lit. But there was some unpleasant smell that was kind of bothering us. I wish they address it. It wasn't crowded and the food arrived in less than 5-10minutes of ordering. The parking could be a concern. The staffs were very much courteous and polite. BOTTOMLINE: If you are in for a slightly Delhi based food flavor, I guess this should be your place. The curries are delicious and the restaurant is family friendly. Slightly pricey in my opinion. Would definitely visit here to try out other things. MY PICKS FOR YOU: North Indian Thali, AlooTikki Chaat, Chole curry
