Sadly, Tabla Buckhead has gone straight downhill over the past six months. Had a disastrously bad Christmas fixed menu dinner there where everything (food, service, attitude and pricing) was terrible and felt like a huge ripoff to us, as regular customers. Convinced my spouse to give it another try for a Saturday night dinner and had basically the same experience. Service was bordering on arrogant, food was mediocre and the place was almost empty. After tasting it and realizing that the wrong dish was served (chicken instead of the lamb we ordered) we asked that it be corrected and were shockingly and wrongly told "no, that is what you ordered" by a tall waiter with a beard, and "you have already eaten some so you will be charged" which the manager (who refused to come speak with us directly) supposedly told the waiter to convey to us. We will not be back and no longer recommend; avoid. read more

Tabla is an exquisite dining place for Indian food. There is indoor and outdoor seating that is decorated in an elegant manner. In addition, there is a bar which is not common in Indian restaurants. We got there a bit late so we ordered takeout which arrived quickly. We ordered Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Mango Lassi, and Palak Patta Chaat. The Mango Lassi was very creamy and smooth! I enjoyed dipping the Garlic Naan into the Chicken Tikka Masala, which had a nice kick to it as well asked for medium spice level. The chicken was easy to bite through and the sauce was delicious. I also enjoyed the Palak Patta Chaat, which were essentially fried spinach fritters. They came with some sauces to dip them in. So refreshing on a summer night. Then moved onto the garlic and naan. The naan was perfectly baked and seasoned. I could've just ate that all night. Then we also ordered the chicken tikka masala and the lamb shank. The sauces for each were amazing. The chicken and lamb were cooked just right. Nice and soft. I like that they have whole wheat roti options since people who have blood sugar problems can eat too. The food honestly does not taste that great for the price. The karahi chicken had a sweet taste that threw me off (I asked for Indian hot) and all of the appetizers that were supposed to have a tandoori taste was really lacking flavor (shrimp, octopus, and chicken). I never go to these "high-end" looking Indian restaurants mostly because the prices do not reflect the taste or portion sizes. I was hoping this place would be different but it was not. Also, when we asked for a second mojito and to not put lime in it the second time. I could hear the bartender yelling at our waiter saying "why did he ask for a mojito then because it is the base of the drink." I've never had rabbit before so I'm not sure what to compare it to, but there were far too many bones in the meat (which may be the usual), so it was a little difficult to consume, but the curry in this dish was great with naan. My friend got the desi chicken curry which was pretty good and I also liked this dish better than the rabbit dish. As a south Asian person, I wouldn't say this would be my go-to place for Indian food as it was very pricy and I would not say the food was exceptional. It was a little bland for my taste to be honest. However, I understand that different places cater to different audiences and I simply might not have been the target audience. I've been to the Midtown location several times, this was my first time at the Buckhead location and the quality is the same! The server was super attentive.
