Absolutely horrendous experience. In June we ordered the moving of an existing fence and installation of new pieces around a pool and garden area. On the day of installation, workers arrived to dig holes and cut down the existing fence posts. After this was completed they realized that they did not have the correct pieces to install the new fence. They indicated new fence would need to be ordered. We were originally told this would take a few weeks. A few weeks turned into 10+. This left my pool exposed until it was finally completed at the end of September. The owner was impossible to reach with his secretary simply stating that she would get our message to him. Only after I got his personal mobile number from his sales guy did I finally manage to reach him. His justification for the delays was that the sales guy had quoted the job to cheap. When his workers finally arrived 2 weeks after his promised date, they left behind a horrible mess. I spent hours picking up broken metal, screws, drill bits from around my pool area and glass, not to mention a few dozen cigarette butts. read more

Final product is exactly what my wife and I were hoping for in our back yard. The fence turned out gorgeous. Whitney was a joy to work with and always helpful. Met the owner Tim on the day we purchased and was impressed he took the time to show additional options on his computer. He explained the process in detail helping easy any worries my wife and I may have had at that time. The style of our fence was not one of ones shown on the website or at the factory yet they were able to complete the project and make us happy. Not at all impressed with the"owner" who came out to give me an estimate on a cedar fence. He was so unprofessional and spoke to me as though I could not afford his services. Well I went with Ace fence all cedar fence and it's been a great addition. It cost about $5k or so...so guess what Mae Fence...I could and did afford it as a single mom and glad I had the opportunity to cross you off my list and not recommend you to anyone I know that is looking for a fence contractor. From beginning to end, the folks at were very professional and did a great job. Matt came a few days after calling for a review of the yard and a quote. He was on time, and the review was quick and easy. I told him I was still looking around and would get back to him shortly. After deciding to go with Mae due to cost and what I believed to be great quality, we had our date scheduled and only had to wait around 6-7 weeks. Day of installation only took ~4-5 hours, They showed up right around 9:00am and got straight to work. I had a few questions on gate placement, the crew answered that. About an hour in, the post hole digger cut my internet line (minor disruption), that wasn't the best, but they had it repaired within 30 minutes and I was back online. After installation, we walked the fence, everything looked great. There was still some dirt around the post holes (to be expected), but they had removed the large mounds of dirt, which was great. They cleaned up and headed out, and we are very happy with our fence! read more

This company put a fence in at my neighbors, they did not inform me prior to entering my property. They damaged plants and bushes, refused to talk to me or compensate me. They left a mess on my side, left debris, left pavers sticking up in the cement around the post and left an overlay of cement. Quite frankly the workmanship on that fence is questionable and their lack of communication is really disturbing. read more

Stay away from Mae Fence. Terrible communication and customer service. It's been 2 weeks since Tim the owner came out to give us an estimate on extending our fence to the end of our property. He promised to get us one the following morning. Nothing was ever sent. Between my husband and I we left 4 messages about not receiving a quote that he had promised us and in one of the messages I stated if he wasn't interested in doing the work to let us know cause we would find someone else and still no response. I worked with Tim from Mae Fence. We set a date that he met, gave me a competitive price, and installed as agreed. The instalation took just one day. I was not totally happy with how the crew left the yard around each post. I called Tim and the next day is was cleaned up and looks great. Long story short - I cannot imagine a worse fence job. The overall experience has been awful and unfortunately it's not over. Please read the long story before signing a contract with this company or putting down a deposit. I can provide pictures to anyone that wants to see what kind of work they do. I don't want anyone to go through what we have gone through. Long story - We received several quotes for our residential fence job. It was a relatively small job (75 total feet) and most of the quotes were close in price. We chose MAE Fence because they were the only company that could install the fence before Easter Sunday. We were having family over and a big Easter egg hunt and thought it would be nice to show off our new fence and let the dogs play outside all day with us. We were on the schedule for Saturday, April 15th. Here's where the fun begins. We hadn't heard anything since we were given a date for installation so my wife called MAE on Friday, April 14th to see when they would be arriving on Saturday. The office told her they would be at our house between 9am and 10am. Noon rolls around and no sign of them. My wife calls the office - no answer. She calls Jerry (the salesman) and he said he would have Tim call her. An hour later, Tim calls her back and tells her that they had a problem with one of the trailers and they would be to our house after a job in Grove City. The crew shows up at 3:30pm to begin the job. Soon after they began, they came to the door and said that we didn't pay for dirt removal. My wife asks how much that is and he said "well, they would charge you $200 but I can get rid of it for $100". Very unprofessional in my opinion. She said to leave the dirt and went back inside (she didn't feel safe and I wasn't home). 1.5 HOURS after they started, they came to the door again and I was home by this point. One gentleman said that they ran out of posts and couldn't complete the job. We asked when they would be back and he said tomorrow (Easter Sunday). Really? But he said they would be back tomorrow to finish it. When they left, my wife called Tim (the owner) and left a message asking when they were coming back on Sunday because we had guests coming over. No return call all weekend. Needless to say, our Easter get together didn't really go as planned with sections of fence missing and piles of dirt everywhere. It did however give us a chance to look at the work that was done in that 1.5 HOURS they were here. Let's just say you could tell we were the last job on a Saturday and they were working as fast as they could. I honestly can't imagine a worse fence job. The posts are crooked, none of the posts are the same height, nails are sticking out everywhere, the gates and hardware are crooked, the custom posts we bought aren't cut even, and they didn't put in the removable section that we requested. It looks like a bunch of teenagers had a drunken idea and decided to install a fence. Again, I can provide pictures to anyone that wants to see it. My wife called Tim on Monday (4/17) and explained the situation and sent him some pictures. He said that he would send someone out on Tuesday to "fix and finish". Tuesday (4/18) rolls around and a gentleman arrives around 4:30pm. I walk around and show him the issues we have and he said he'll finish putting up the fence and get started on fixing some issues. He finished the part that was incomplete and fixed a few things and said he'd be back tomorrow to work on fixing the gates. He did a decent job by himself except for one very crooked post. He came back the next day and worked on the gates. He fixed the parts that were messed up but now the gate and hardware are completely crooked. The "removable" piece is still NOT removable. He left before I had a chance talk to him that day (this was Wednesday 4/19). My wife texted Tim the following day (4/20) stating that there were still unresolved issues and she sent more pictures. No response. My wife texted Tim on Monday (4/24) and asked if he received her last text and pictures. No response. My wife called the office on Tuesday (4/25) and explained the situation. No response. At this point we have a fence that we aren't happy with and a company that won't return our calls. We chose MAE Fence because they said they could meet our deadline. They didn't. We chose MAE Fence because they claim to be family owned and operated. They aren't. We chose MAE Fence because they have been in business for nearly a century (this boggles my mind). What are my next steps? The job still isn't complete (no removable section) and what is done looks terrible. I guess we contact the Better Business Bureau. Maybe we'll get a response then. read more

Mae Fence built us a beautiful 42" cedar wood fence with an arbor over one of the gates! Extremely sturdy fence, looks great, fantastic customer service from Tim, Barb and crew! All around fantastic fence and experience with Mae Fence. Highly recommend!!! read more
