When my fiancé and I first bought our house the living room was an extremely dark cherry and the kitchen was almost yellow stained with deep scratch marks from a dog. Our project involved removing carpet and then refurbishing (sanding, staining) the existing hardwood floors underneath. The experience and results were excellent. We highly recommend Gabe and his company. Details: Firstly, the results are excellent. That's the most important thing. For this kind of project, you have to be reasonably assured the company is honest, because if & when there are issues where some of the wood needs replacing (which will add to the cost), you're relying on the company's honesty. I came to trust Gabe, given the way he conducted business. Note that I first checked Yelp, because Yelp's algorithm looks to identify fake reviews (unlike the unreliable google reviews). Throughout the project, Gabe responded to ongoing queries within minutes. Everything had a written trail via text. He regularly sent us updates with pictures. When there were issues with some of the wood that required replacement, he showed us why (especially given that these floors had been covered with stained, dirty carpet for decades) and gave us options. Note that this will increase the cost so ... if you want to get a more accurate estimate up front, ask for estimates on what-if's (eg cost to replace 1 step or X square feet of wood). They had a very good method to help us pick the stain color and finish. His team - prior to sanding the floors - presented 4 different actual examples on our floors of stains. In our new home, we needed to refinish shiny old-looking hardwood floors as well as make some changes and remove two hardwood steps in one location and rebuild them deeper into one room. We have received several estimates for this job. All companies but one said they can do refinishing, but they will not help with moving the steps. Gabi said they could help me with everything at the lowest price. I am glad he convinced me to hire them as a contractor. In just 3 days they have refinished about 2000 sq. ft of the floor all over the house including 2 staircases. Gabi helped me make the right decisions at every step of the process explaining to me what possible options I have and how different the outcome can be (showing me pictures from the previous works, so I can imagine the result in my case). They supplied needed materials to make the new rebuilt steps look as close to the rest of the floor as possible and used Loba Supra 2K AT for the finish (one of the best products on the market these days). I am very happy with the results and the quality of work. Now my 40 years old floor looks new and modern.
