We used Maggie Cooks to cater a baby shower. I selected all of the food we served through phone conversations and emails with Jane. She made the process very easy. We picked everything up the day of the shower and everything was beautifully plated unless we needed to heat something. In that case the food was ready to go on an oven pan and we were given a ceramic plate to put it on once heated. Our guests raved about the food at the party and for days after. Maggie & Jane were super easy to work with...they provided an initial menu based on my request, and we tweaked it easily from there. Due to health reasons this was the first year I did not prepare the food for Passover for my family. Great big thank you to Maggie Cooks!! Maggie and Jane and their staff prepared an outstanding meal for our Passover Seder. Every course from chicken soup, gefilte fish, Moroccan chicken, brisket, salmon,brussel sprouts, quinoa, potato kugel, mashed potatoes, Pavlova and chocolate roll was so well prepared and pleased everyone's palate. Of course, they are wonderful, but one of the side benefits is that Maggie Cooks helps you prepare better meals at home. When I had the trio of stuffed vegetables for dinner, I realized that sometimes more seasoning is better than less. After I tasted my wife's roasted salmon sandwich with basil mayonnaise and caramelized onions, I realized there is more than salmon salad. We heart Maggie Cooks. We regularly pick up a take out dinner when we need help filling in our weekday meals and can't cook and don't want to order same old. Maggie Cooks sends an email at the beginning of each week (and posts on their website) with a list of planned lunches and dinners for each day of the week. The meals are always wholesome yet interesting and taste deliciously homemade and fresh - not at all like local restaurant delivery. The portions are generous and they always include all the food groups - e.g. you aren't just ordering steak, you get the appropriate sides too and a salad and a delicious "sweet bite" gratis to finish it off. They are always accommodating of my requests - e.g. Thai Chicken lettuce wraps for my husband and then a vegetarian-friendly version of that for me. Jane deals with my texts to coordinate a schedule for pick up - helping me out when I'm getting back from work late and she'll even come out to the car so my kids don't have to get out. We have also ordered from their various holiday catering menus, which were a huge help to take pressure off cooking the entire meal but still tasting/seeming homemade - from apps to dessert a hit. :) read more

I have used Maggie Cooks several times over the past 7 years - for every kind of event ranging from large backyard gatherings to small family dinners to cocktail parties and, most recently, for my daughter's First Communion. Their service is exceptional and their food is outstanding - somehow Joan and Maggie make every meal (no matter how large) taste homemade using the freshest ingredients. They plate it beautifully and drop it of ready to go in real, classic serving bowls and platters... complete with instructions for the finishing touches. Went for lunch with the family (no real eating area, but they were awesome and let us eat anyways) Food was amazing! All made to order with fresh, homemade ingredients. I had a pan roasted chicken sandwich with prosciutto on ciabatta. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had. Bread was perfectly done for the sandwich. My wife had a southwestern chicken wrap and she said it was delicious as well. As a side, we both had an orzo salad that was great too! They recently catered a party I had for 50 people. The food was excellent. Their menu has lots of mouth-watering choices. The gourmet sandwiches were fantastic, the smoked salmon delicious, and the goat cheeses and fig tarts were a huge success. Also, be sure to get the French macaroons; they were the best macaroons I've ever had. Everyone at the party asked who my caterer was. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they don't deliver the food, you have to pick it up. This also wouldn't have been a big deal, but the party started at 2, and the food wasn't finished until 12:30 the day of. I had to send someone to pick up the food and miss the Baptism. Then when we got back to the house, I had to quickly figure out what everything was, and organize it for my hungry waiting guests. This may not be the norm. They were extremely busy that particular week. They were lovely after the party, even offering to come pick up the beautiful ceramic platters they provided for the food. So long answer shortened, would I use them again? Absolutely. read more

My neighbor and I hosted a small backyard prom party for my daughter. We used Maggie Cooks for appetizers and dinner. The food was amazing. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Jane was so helpful in assisting us with the menu and choices we made. This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I purchased a Groupon before going which included 2 sandwiches, 2 sides, and 2 desserts. Everything was really fresh and tasty. Just had Maggie's catered in for a company event tonight. Hands down best catered food I've ever had and I've been to a good many of catered events. The menu consisted of tomato soup which was absolutely amazing, butternut squash and spinach lasagna, stuffed chicken, beef tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes and a salad. Get meals to go quite often. Every meal is better than the next! This Easter, Maggie Cooks made our family's brunch. Everything was wonderful. The scones and muffins, egg casserole, and the chicken tenders were the best we've had in ages!!!. When I choose to not cook, which is often, Maggie Cooks always has a great meal to serve. Everything is home cooked with great loving touches. The french macroons are to die for!!!! I had to be off my feet for months after surgery a while ago, and Maggie Cooks made all our dinners. I just hosted a 60th birthday party for my husband and Maggie Cooks did hors d'oevres, dinner and dessert. Dinner was buffet style and there was almost nothing left even though we had more than enough for the number of people, because everyone went back for seconds and thirds. Huge success, everyone raved about the food. They were so easy to work with, had an extensive menu with really interesting choices compared to the usual buffet entrees you find everywhere. Biggest hits among all the great food were the asian dumpling appetizers, braised short rib entree, crab cakes entree, asian slaw and mini chocolate mousse cups. I was in the area and happened to past this little place and decided to stop. What I learned as I entered Maggie Cooks was that they do Fine Catering and lucky for me also happen to serve lunch. I ordered the Veggie Sandwich. I have to say that I eat ALOT of Veggie Sandwiches but have never had anything as amazing as this. It had grilled eggplant, roasted tomatoes, deep dark delicious balsamic onions, pesto and cheese. I cannot describe this delicious combination in words...you really just need to try it yourself. For dessert I indulged in the French Mararons...an absolute must try. They have every flavor imaginable. I had Pumpkin Pie, Pistacio and a little Devil's Food(or at least it tasted like devils food).
