My wife and I had such a great time! We had never been on Segways before. We met the guide, Nathan, and one other couple. Nathan gave us a quick demonstration, answered all of our questions and, after a few minutes to practice in the adjoining parking lot, we were off! The Segway is such a great way to experience St. Pete. We saw a lot more than we expected to be covered in two hours. Nathan was a great tour guide, sharing background about the buildings, parks, venues, and even trees along the way. This was a great way to spend a morning of our vacation and a great value for the money. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting St. Pete. read more

We had a great time Sunday on our Segway tour with Brian. We had our 10-year old grandson and there were two other boys his age with their grandpa and he was great with everyone. The boys did well with the Segways and although Brian kept the boys in check, he also gave them room to really enjoy themselves. Most likely one of the coolest things we have done this vacation so far! This is hands down one of the best. We had a day in Tampa since we leave on a cruise tomorrow. ( today) We naturally wanted to find something fun to do. Low cost Outside Touristy. We were fortunate and lucked into getting the tour from the owner Geoff. Super down to earth and chill. The site says the tour lasts between 1.5 -2 hours. Dude def spun us for 3hours. He said the weather was so great he had to. None of us were in a hurry...score! There were 6 segwayers and our Guide. He instructed us clearly, and answered any questions and we were off. We cruised downtown Tampa, a Riverwalk area, a local college, eateries, and even a bathroom break. Really great fun. Our guide Ryan was easy going and very friendly. We are locals so not much of a "tour" needed but it was fantastic to ride the length of the river, something most people don't do in one day. The Segways feel natural after the first five minutes and it's a blast to ride them. My 18 and 15 year old sons loved it as much as us. We'll be back. read more

I had a good time on our tour today! J.P. was our tour guide, and was super friendly, professional (but not to stuffy), and very knowledgeable. It was beautiful outside, not too hot, and not too cold. Sunny, with just enough overcast provide the occasional shade. We started the day at Channelside, and cruised down the river walk, making a few spots along the way. We stopped for breaks, photo opportunities, and for J.P. to occasionally school us on some Tampa history. We continued past Curtis Hixon Park, across the river via Cass St, and on to the University of Tampa campus, stopping at the Henry Plant Museum. After a short break, & a couple more sites, we headed back across the river via Kennedy Blvd, then back to Channelside. If you're not familiar with this area, that route will make no sense to you whatsoever. Let's just say it's a nice, hour plus, riverfront path with lots of beautiful sights to see. The best part, segways take little-to-no effort to operate. J.P. is a great trainer, and can have you operating one like a pro in a matter of minutes. The only negative of the whole experience was the booking process. There were several Groupon offers for segways. I tried to call and get clarification, but received a voicemail instead. I received a return phone call shortly after, it was the owner. He was super short, acted like he wanted to rush me off the phone, and to be honest, a little rude. I get it, he's busy. But, he needs to realize the customer is paying his bills. If I had to deal with him another two minutes, I probably would have booked with another company. Thankfully, he has nothing to do with the tour portion. Overall, it was a great experience! read more

Having been on a Segway tour before in Philadelphia it was like getting on a bicycle and remembering how to operate it. So in Tampa it was, "get me on it and let's go". There were people in our group who had never been on one and JP our guide was encouraging and instructive. You can see how nervous people can be the first time on one but literally after five minutes you are a veteran. It becomes intuitive. The weather in Tampa the day we went in early January was about 65° and sunny. JP was very informative, funny, and made the trip very relaxing. My only complaint was that the two hour tour went way too fast. What made this trip more pleasurable for me was JP gave us 5 minutes off to tool around on our own. Everyone made use of that time to see how fast you could go and play around without having to stay in queue. Too bad the Segway is governed to top out at 12mph! read more

DONT MAKE THE TRIP...... so after traveling almost an hour to the location I was greeted by a teenager who told me that it MIGHT rain so they had cancelled the tour for the day..... that's right despite me showing up 25 minutes early and this company having my phone number and e-mail address ZERO COMMUNICATION until I'm standing in their lobby. Mr Teenager said we tried calling you, my response here is my phone show me a missed call or voicemail but don't insult me by lying to my face!!!! Our tour was scheduled for 1:30 and as you can see by the picture the sky's were clear as I type this review it's currently 2:50 NOT A DROP OF RAIN. My wife and I had always talked about taking a Segway tour, but had never pulled the trigger, until now. We found magic carpet glide tours on Groupon, the price was right, so we decided to take the tour on a Saturday afternoon at 5:30. Our tour guide JP, met us in the Channelside complex. He was easy to spot because he was the only person moving about on a Segway. He found us had a sign a few waivers and then brought us to the storage unit which was only a short walk. Inside the storage unit there were several segways. We engaged in a short but needed training session. The segways are not difficult to operate, however it is not intuitive like riding a bike so I am very glad we had a quick tutorial and then attempt to try before being unleashed into the general population. The tour was exceptional. We spent the overwhelming majority of our time either on a sidewalk or pedestrian area in parks the Riverwalk or college campus. JP was very knowledgeable about Tampa and did more than just guide us around, he told stories, give explanations, and provided a lot of information that made the tour even better. The tour was supposed to be one and a half hours, but I think our tour was closer to two hours or maybe even a little longer. Riding the segways was fun, our tour guide was terrific, and it was a beautiful afternoon in Tampa. I can't think of anything else that would have made this experience any better. This was our third Segway tour. What a great way to see new parts of the city, learn some history and ride a freakin' Segway. This tour was pretty cool. We did the night tour which I highly recommend because the Tampa River Walk is all lit up and lively. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable. Groupon has some deals for this but it's not terribly priced for a pretty fun time. read more

We did the St. Pete tour and rode along the picturesque waterfront with our amazing guide, Colin, sharing stories and history of the landmarks. This was our first time riding Segways and we were nervous but it was way easier than we thought and our guide was a great teacher. My husband took me here for a fun date night out and we had a blast! PJ was our guide, and he met us in the heart of Channelside (over by Splitsville) before taking us to the segways. A quick tutorial and test run in their storefront and we were good to go! We had 5 people in our tour which was really nice and small which we liked. Only one other group of 3 that were family celebrating a bday. The 90-minute tour goes along the Riverwalk which is such a pretty ride! We did the glow tour, so we went out at night and had our segways decked out with lights. It was fun to see people's reactions to the segways. One tip - wear comfortable shoes. 90-minutes doesn't seem like a long time but standing for that long on something gliding on uneven ground does put a little stress on the feet. I also stood on my tip toes some times to give my feet a break and that really helped (and great for the calves!). :p Remember to tip your guide! read more

Awesome way to see Downtown Tampa!! Bobby did a fabulous job...made us all feel comfortable right away and was very informative. May have even convinced 2 of my kids to move to the area for school! Totally boring. Tampa is not really rich in history but it was made even worse by the fact that our guide didn't know much about the area (admitted he wasn't from the area). The route back through the city streets seemed rather treacherous for first time riders in my opinion. If this is your only opportunity to ride a Segway then go ahead because they're fun to ride but the Segway tour we had in Washington, DC was 1000 times better and had a much more knowledgeable and interesting guide and most large cities have companies that offer Segway tours. read more

This was our (me & 13 year old son) 1st time ever on Segways. Brandon was our guide. He was fantastic!! He showed us the ropes, helped us practice then took us out on a beautiful tour of downtown Tampa. I've lived here 6 years and never really explored the parts of downtown that we saw today. It was a beautiful day & the breeze from riding was perfect. The 1st 30 seconds on the Segway feels weird but it's very easy to learn how to control it. Highly recommend Magic Carpet! read more

I highly recommend the night tour. It was a really fun way to see tampa bay, we went along the river walk and it was a beautiful night. Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. Two of us found the segways to be very easy to use (and actually way more fun than I expected) however our third party had some troubles. The guide was super helpful and really gave good instruction but she had a hard time getting the hang of it. If you have poor eye sight or have some difficulty with motor skills, the day tour might be a better fit. read more

We purchased our Segway tour with a Groupon. I had absolutely no problems scheduling our tour (for 3). We were the only people in our tour. We met at Channelside Bay Plaza and before we met up with JP, our tour guide, we hung out in the plaza for a little while, which was fun, too. We rode down the Riverwalk and on the campus of the University of Tamp where we went into what used to be the Tampa Bay Hotel. We would definitely do this again if we were in Tampa again.
