We came here for a fun day! It was fun I love the two different options, one easy and one harder. We did the harder course it was so fun!! The reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is for 2 reasons! I feel like $5 would be more reasonable for a price instead of $10 and they don't accept card which they not state anywhere. Also, they need to trim up the trees and other greenery around the courses because you always have to duck or walk on the course instead of the sidewalk! Other than that it was so worth it!! We stopped by Magic Carpet Golf on a Tuesday evening after dinner. The two of us chose to do the front course, as recommended by the woman working. She said it was her favorite because of the ocean view. I sorta wish we'd done the back course, because we zipped through all the holes pretty quickly, and would have enjoyed a little more of a challenge. Regardless, we had a good time and really enjoyed ourselves. I wish the price was a little lower or you could get a discount for doing both courses. Would have been too much to pay $40 for each of us to finish both courses. Oh well! Still a really fun stop and definitely recommend putting around. read more

This is a real put put course! It's hard but fun. A enough hole in one opportunities to keep everyone's interest. We enjoyed it enough to come back for the front nine. There are some up keep issues but i would expect some is do to it being so early in the year. They don't make put put courses like this anymore. read more

Great little mini-golf. You get a nice breeze off the ocean as you shoot for a hole-n-one. If you hit the ball too hard it will be in the Gulf, so be careful! read more

I really like this place, I like miniature golf that has obstacles with sculptures. I like challenges not just plain ol' green turf nothing else. This has lot of trees and plants that give shade. However $8 per person per course *chokes* So if you want to play both courses, its expensive for a family. As added bonus, they have batting cage down the parking lot which we did visit and had fun. Oh, CASH only, be sure to have enough cash on hand. I had to drive to a store to get cash before returning to play. read more

This place is infected by bees supposedly they do not sting but they come close and land on u.... We'd rather not find if they do sting they were everywhere. We asked for a refund and mger was reluctant we did not even played a hole.... Finally he gave our money back after we threaten to call the police. Anyway treat the place to get the bees out! What if they do sting and a kid is allergic.... I was not going to try with my 3.5 yo. Very bad customer service. read more

I thought this was cool place where you could feel the nice air. I like how there is 2 courses .I love playing put put . They have a easy course and a hard course.On hole 18 if you make it into the frogs mouth then you get a free all day pass. read more

My husband and I had so much fun!!! Adults were $8 and it was definitely worth it!! There were some really good holes to shoot and things I have never seen before!! The front course has a better view but the back course looked cool so that's what we did. I didn't give 5 stars because the little ponds didn't have water in them!! read more

Normally, this course is a great place to spend some time with the family. The old school greens remind me of putt-putt courses of my childhood with animated obstacles that are usually well-maintained. Both courses are worth exploring; the front course offers unfettered views of the Gulf from every green, while the back course offers lush landscaping and more challenging holes. However, my recent visit left something to be desired. Several of the animated obstacles, such as the swinging golf club or the moving windmill, were out of order. This just made the applicable holes a straight shot to boredom. None of the waterfalls were running either which detracts from several of the holes' ambiance and decor. All in all, it was still fun, but I'd rather them make a few repairs before I return. read more

After reading some of the reviews, I was thinking of not taking the kids. So many negative comments. This was a very nice place, and I've been to several places. The front course is extremely kid friendly. Adults too. Carpet was well taken care of. You only get to play the front or the back course for $10 per adult or $7 for children 8 and under. They didn't charge extra for those that didn't play. And even though they were lots of people playing, plenty of parking. Restrooms were at the batting cages-and they were clean. Will definitely come back to play the back course (bringing bug spray). Benches every couple of holes to rest or wait at. A couple picnic tables at the front that you can sit and eat a snow cone (sold separately right next the the parking). A family plus!! Cash only. read more

Magic Carpet is undergoing a magical renovation! The new managers are sprucing up what was already a fun place to play mini golf by painting, fixing mechanical structures, and so on. We have always loved this place, and now we love it even more. Try both courses! Front or back, you cannot go wrong! read more

Had me wait in the parking lot and threatened to call the police because my children wanted to golf and I didn't. Sound crazy? Absolutely. My kids, age 12 and 14 wanted to golf. I didn't, but I brought them. They took our $15 and told me I couldn't go onto the course unless I paid to golf. Okay, I'm thinking. They don't want non-paying people to switch off clubs to avoid the fee. But then the elderly man at the counter took things to the extreme when I stood near hole 2 in the grass. He told me because I didn't pay I would need to stand in the parking lot. Seriously?! I asked him rehotorically if he was going to supervise my children, which was all I was trying to do being 900 miles from home. Get this... he then said he could call the police and would "swear out a warrant". I told him to call them. I had not raised my voice, cursed at him, been drinking or done a single thing wrong other than trying to stand where I could see my children. "Go ahead, call the police", I said. Apparently he didn't, but I was kind of hoping for a three or four car response with lots of flashing lights. That would be good for business I was thinking... Before getting to play hole three my children came back telling me they wanted to leave because "the man" wouldn't let me stand near them. We left our clubs near hole 2 and walked off. Making a scene or confronting him for a refund just seemed pointless. If we lived closer or visited the area more often I would consider standing on the sidewalk with a sign and sharing this experience with others. Maybe that's what I'm accomplishing with this... read more

This was an amazing miniature golf course! The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. The course is well made and each hole is unique. My boyfriend and I loved this and will definitely be back. read more

Definitely Five Stars! We were looking for a good miniature golf course during our stay in Galveston, and the Magic Carpet on the sea wall was a perfect mini-golf experience. The various obstacles were fantastic, imaginative, and fun! The staff in the booth were friendly and helpful. $10 per person is a great deal, considering how much enjoyment you get out of it. We enjoyed our first night so much that we went back for a second. The first time we played the front 18, and the second time we played the back 18, otherwise known as "The Jungle." While the back 18 course wasn't as well lit and was a little stuffy when the breeze was blocked, we still had a good time. We're going back a third night because 3 out of 4 of us managed a hole-in-one on the last hole, meaning we got 3 free (non-expiring) passes. This is a must-do on your next trip! read more

First time visitor to Galveston -- just had to hit mini golf as soon as I found out about it! We dropped by during the evening after dinner. Great that it's open until 10pm I think. The facility itself looks more than a little run down/older but hey, it's mini-golf so it's all about the Fun (as the score card says enthusiastically) and it's only $7. On second thought, the sign is missing the "T" on the end of " carpet" and paint noticeably peeling off sides of bldgs. So, maybe they should lower the price to $5. They also don't do much to hide the in-process touch-up/maintenance work and tools that are being used around the course. Awfully convenient that it's located just next door to the bungee-sitting-jumpy thingy -- looked great, wanted to try it, but significant other screamed 'fraidy cat! Upon exiting the car, we got an extra special treat -- watched a family of 5 rabbits play for about 10 minutes. Back to golf -- Walked right up with no wait time. Expected the counter lady to be grumpy but she wasn't....rather, she was pleasantly snarky and quite helpful to us and other parties on several occasions. Was suprised at the number of families out at 9pm on a Thursday night...it's obviously a local fave. Sits right across from the beach, so you'll get an excellent breeze when playing the front course. Not too hard, not too easy, chock full of entertaining, animal-themes. Each individual hole has an animal, cartoon, or object that makes for great photo ops and family fun. Ample parking, has a shaved ice vendor in the parking lot for comfort afterwards if you lose. Clean restrooms on premises, located about 50 yards away from main course. Could use a bit better lighting near restrooms but it's adequate. My fav no frills mini-golf experience on Galveston Island. read more
