honestly don't know why they act like they're the only place in Texas that offers horse lessons. The attitude was rude and unwelcoming from the start, and it just made the whole experience uncomfortable. There are plenty of other places around that treat people better and actually appreciate their customers. I wouldn't recommend this place at all--be for real, this is Texas, you've got options. read more

I don't want to be ugly. So I thought long and hard about whether to write a review. But I want to spare other families. My advice is to find a place that will give your kids and horse a better experience. I think the people running this place and the customers who come and stay just don't realize how inferior the service is and how much more is available out in the Houston market. read more

This Stable has such a wonderful program for kids! My daughter has an amazing learning experience on how to care for a horse, before and after riding as well. It is the sweetest hour lesson of our week and we are so thankful we found this place! How therapeutic and amazing for my young horse lover! JJ is amazing with kids and an incredibly knowledgeable instructor (even I have learned so much from him through my daughter, even being an experienced rider). We love the tacking up and bath portion almost as much as the riding lesson! So thankful they're close to the city!! read more

Staff is friendly here and the lessons are good. Because it's in the city, it is more pricey and the space is quite small. I believe they are moving to a new location so I am looking forward to that but parking is extremely limited and classes can be crowded. read more

This horse Stable is conveniently located near downtown Houston area. It's about a 15-30 min drive from Bellaire or SugarLand. The horses there are absolutely great, very well trained. The instructors are great as well, gave detailed explanations and very encouraging. I had my first lesson today, learned about grooming, saddling, and riding a horse. This place is small but great for beginners like me. Would recommend giving a try, just be sure to call and text them to reserve spot beforehand. Also bring your own protection gear against COVID if you are concerned. read more

I've been at MMS since about December of this year. I came here after not liking the other barn I went to + the convenience of location. I won't lie, the appearance is jarring at first, but now that I've gotten to know staff and see how the horses are cared for--looks don't matter. The horses get turned out if appropriate and they schedule their lessons very well. I've loved coming here once a week and don't plan on stopping. If anything, I'm dying to go more! They do not rush me through the lesson, let me take my time, ask me what I'd like to work on and overall it's just a really positive environment. read more

This place is really strange and seems to serve one purpose only - to abuse, disrespect, and mistreat their clients. The owner is willing to let go of thousands of dollars in revenue instead of teaching her adolescent staff basic rules of work ethic and social civility. Trainers here yell and talk at clients as if they are their subordinates. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn riding in a safe, stress-free environment. read more

I know that a yelp review cannot stop you from going to a business, I have created a list of questions to ask during your visit to magic moments if you decide to go (as a customer or future employee!) as this stables has a history of taking advantage of people who don't know how most equestrian barns work: 1. Ask if your instructor is a paid instructor or intern, this place will hire equestrians with no TEACHING experience and tell them to teach up to 10 lessons a day without training. Do not confuse riding experience with teaching experience. 2. Ask how many times your horse has been ridden today AND if it has had a day off this week. Most of the horses at MMS are worked past three lessons a day and are worked every day of the week until they go lame (gets injured). If you think is lame, it probably is! Trust your instincts and ask for another horse. Do not accept any excuses. 3. Ask how long your instructor has been working at MMS. Unless you are being taught by granger or Denise, your instructor has been hired within the last 6 months because MMS has been through 3 full-house staff changes since 2021. If you are concerned about how old your instructor is, you are most likely being taught by a teenage student of the barn. 4. Ask how old your horse is and how long it has been in lessons. If your horse is under 10, don't ride it. If your horse hasn't been at MMS more than two years, you will fall off of it because MMS buys undertrained horses in the hopes it will get them fast money in lessons. 5. Price check your lesson rates, aside from MMS giving some of the most expensive lessons in the area, less than 15% of your lesson money goes to your instructor. This barn was built at the foundation to make as much money as possible. Side note: there is a promise of a new facility within the next year, this does not justify anything you see at the current location. If you are still reading this, listen to your gut and ride at a barn that makes you feel safe and answers your questions. If you still have questions ask a supervisor why Adrienne, Peyton, Alyssa, Cheyenne, Nikki, Katie, Marjorie, Elizabeth, Nicole, Morgan, Jeremiah, Kona, Tammy, and Alexis left their jobs this last year. read more

Magic Moments Stable is the worst stable i've ever been to. The stable itself is crappy and and the stables are breaking apart. I went and took lessons for a very long time, and it was the worst lessons i've been to. I stopped ridding for 2 years (because of covid) and i started riding again in September, I was looking to buy a horse, and granger showed up. I went and look at the horses for sale and I found one that was the perfect match for me. When I got a vet to come out and check the horse, It turned out to be lame. I then figured out that Granger gave the horse something to make the pain go away and for the horse to stop limping. I payed so much for the vet to go and and do X-rays on the horse, Granger did not tell me that the horse had to get medicine every month that was more than $1,000. Granger and her barn are both terrible. read more

Not a good place. They don't value their clients at all. Only cater to young girls and kids. One of their horses got spooked and I fell and broke my leg. No one from the stable called to see how I was doing. I got the impression they didn't care if I came back or not for lessons. And the lessons are expensive! Really sad and disappointing because the location is so convenient to me. read more

I would never leave my horses at this facility. The horses are kept in the Stables all day I work in the area and no matter what time of the day I pass by the horses are always in the Stables. They look sad and depressed and if it were me I would go crazy being locked up all day. This facility is very small so there's no room for the horses to exercise or graze there's no grass just dirt everywhere. These horses deserve better than to be abandoned by their owners at this sad facility. read more

the instructors just sat and told the kids what to do, overpriced for little time and energy on the teachers part. it is filth, there is no effort whatsoever on cleaning, the break room is full of spiderwebs and massive spiders. do not come here read more

We love MMS and are so glad we found a home here for our horse and great instructors for the kids. Extremely organized and professional operation and trails nearby along Addicks Reservoir for leisure riding. The coaches are awesome with the kids and our horse loves it too. read more

Absolutely horrendous experience with this facility. They put my 7 year old on a poorly trained horse who spooked and bucked him off. Then they over charged me and refused to refund me the overpayment. The facilities are run down and dirty. Very disappointing. read more

I was told I needed a 'training" session (lesson) even though I know how to ride, and paid $85.00 to trot around an arena. They said I might get to ride on trail rides in the Addicks reservoir if I proved I could handle the horse, which I could. Haven't heard anything at all after a month, and I doubt I will. That's a good way to get money I suppose, and I shouldn't have fallen for it, so I blame myself. read more
